- Welcome to a day in the life of a Game Development student at Falmouth University.
Third year Game Development student, Sophie shows us a typical day at Falmouth University. Her day consists of heading to the Games Academy to work on personal projects before having a team meeting to discuss progress on a game and as well time spent playtesting to fix any bugs.
She follows on from her day in the games studio to go out into Falmouth to get dinner and drinks.

So here's a question if you were on the game development: writing course would you still get a general education on the other aspects of game development?
I'm really interested on the narrative and character side of things but at the same time I do want to do a course thats going to be limiting. There are other universities that do a general game development course that includes writing within it.

What if I just want to design levels?
Then design some levels 🤙
Then going to uni won't be a great idea as they want to teach you a diverse range of things. If you want to exclusively design levels, do an online course, get a mentor or just practice on your own
@@iclaimthisname9767 the game dev course allows you to do many different things and specialising in design specifically is actually an option :)

@@googoogaga7986 But game design is wayy broader than just designing levels. I think at my university the game design students have only had one 2 month course dedicated to just level design so far in 2 years.
That's why I said going to university when you are only interested in level design is maybe not the best idea. It would probably be better to just go on reddit in r/INAT and find someone who needs help with a game, to get some hands-on experience (or what I said in my comment from 2 years ago)
