It is an archonexus run, also I like to perfect the design of things, I kinda play casually and set everything in order. I am internally motivated. So it takes time.
I hate automated defenses. In my previous colonies I used automated defenses solely and it made the game so boring. So I changed my rules and how I play. I only use man-operable weapons and humans to fight now. Having skin in the game makes it more enjoyable

I had a similar layered defense all conected by underground tunnels from Z levels. What mod are those french 20mm autocannons from? I use the marder rh202 from absolutely more cannons.
No, the facilities each position has is for the comfort of the colonists especially for drawn out fights when they are stranded. They have places to sit, sleep, eat, relieve themselves, reload. Colonists reside in the base
wow your base is cool. and are you literally play that colony five hundred thirty and one years straight? as i know, rimworld begin at 5000. me got goose bumps never playing more than 20 years...

Dev mode is active because I started this run in at the start of 2022 with 1,3; took several breaks; with each revisit I added new mods; decided to do the archonexus ending; updated to 1,4. So with all of these my save is very old and bloated, lots of issues arise all the time. I use dev mode to troubleshoot the problems. Just think before commenting. I wouldnt be playing until 5538 if I was cheating. Everything in the save is legit.
Not to mention the elaborate base design tile by tile, shedules, work assignments, bills, clothing and drug policies that took a lot of time and effort.

just skip ahead, Im not a youtuber, I just share the stuff I do. And some people might want to see how I prepare the colony to the fight coming ahead
