Probably not. It's extremely unlikely to be 9.0+. Probably in the low 8s at most. The last time it happened in the 1700s, it killed about 10000+ people. Not that bad.

I like the details like aftershocks and triggered earthquakes happening in real-time before the main earthquake is even over. Perhaps a similar video could be done for Cascadia, though it would be interesting to experiment with partial ruptures of the Cascadia megathrust in the range of magnitude 8.0-8.8, or perhaps different epicenters rather than just sticking to Northern California, as that hasn't really been done before on TH-cam.

the estimates for a nankai earthquake are horrific, upwards of 250 000 dead mostly from the tsunami which, in a worst case will hit some places before the shaking is even done, there will be a lot of fires, building collapses, it'll be a hell similar to Tokyo in 23 but just not as physically devastating due to modern building standards

Im 2 countries away from turkey and still felt like the whole building will fall on me back when the turkey earthquake happened in 2023, the epicenter is 340km away from me and it was just 7.8. You think 9+ are fkng easy?? They can rupture anywhere from 500km to 1500km if not more.
