- I've been streaming on Twitch for a while and I get asked constantly on my stream to give advice on how to grow on Twitch. So I made this video to share the 10 tips and tricks I've used to grow on Twitch from a part-time hobby streamer to a full-time streamer. I'll be sharing tried and true methods. None of this "get big quick" type of advice.
The reality is that Twitch takes time. But if you'll use these tips and stay consistent you will see growth but you have to also remember patience is key. Hopefully, these tips and tricks help you in your Twitch journey and provide more insight into what it the "grind" actually looks like.

I did my first stream yesterday and got 25 first time viewers over the period of 4 hours and got 3 followers!
I did my first stream today and got a total of around 14 viewers. Was starting the stream just for the fun of it but i might just continue streaming. Wish me luck!

I noticed there's literally no one whom streams sims 2, so I started streaming on 16th April (2020) and made affiliate on 27th!

@@freekickshv7764 it earns a higher level of accessibility to certain areas within twitch only after achieving a bunch of accolades that twitch has for you when you first create an account. E.g. stream for 8 hours, get 5 viewers at one time and get 50 followers etc
Once you hit those targets the you become what is called an affiliate member.

got a few more tips:
1) Be entertaining! so many times i join someone’s stream and they’re not even talking, you have about 30sec. to grab someone’s attention when they join if your not talking and just playing a game, then why are you streaming?
2) Be yourself! alot of people try to take or mimic the personality of a top streamer and it just backfires.
3) YOU WILL NOT MAKE MUCH MONEY DOING THIS!!!! No stream has become an overnight success it will take time and you WILL have frustrating moments but focus on being entertaining and producing good quality streams and OVER TIME you could make something awesome

Ok so when I started in March 2019 I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOING TO BE HONEST PERIOD, and was streaming with 0 viewers and averaging not even a follower a day and now after watch ur videos THOUSANDS OF TIMES I am streaming, averaging 3 views and a follower a day and I am expected to 1000 by my birthday, thanks dude
I just watched this and i know its a year old but the great thing that differentiates you from other streamers is that you actually help. Other streamers by letting them promote themselves on your discord.
Tbh I like watching my brother stream because this was his dream since he was like 6 or 5 years old to be good gamer as an all time job. And IDC how much time or money I spend on him being happy.

Ive been doing that other account 1 viewer thing for 2 weeks now and haven't got over 2 max viewers (1 being me) and 9 total page visits. That's me live streaming 2 times a day no less than 3 hrs per stream

I get like 1 random viewer a stream and they stick around for like 2 minutes
SlyShyGuy same and I try my hardest to keep them too. Like I keep talking and being extra nice and doing extra interesting stuff in my game(like shooting at everything, rushing into a crowd in bf1, blowing random things up) and I talk a lot more and they just leave.

Good for you man, I haven’t streamed in a year due to time mostly but I found I was being forced into playing a certain game. When trying other games I was finding people weren’t tuning in when I changed it up. I’m not much of a br streamer and I really enjoy rpgs and solid stories.
@@RavenCroftLoft I know exactly what you mean. And this is a common problem a lot of streamers have. When you start to gain growth in a specific game it's hard to transition that audience to a new game. This is a whole other topic for a potential future video. But ultimately, don't let it discourage you! If you want to stream, do it, and don't feel stuck in one game. All depends on your goals for streaming.

I stream at 360p, 25fps (the maximum possible for my DSL internet). I can't stress enough how supportive my followers and friends have been throughout my Twitch "career". 620 followers, 5k views. Started in 2018. I try to make every single viewer feel special. Because that's what they make me feel. Never give up

I started streaming midway through my senior year in high school. About 2 days ago I got affiliate something I never thought would happen. I play a non saturated game called realm of the mad god and stayed getting about 7-10 followers a day. I enjoy it, but it can get boring playing the same game over and over again. Also another tip is, if you don’t use your phone when you stream, pull up your twitch and for me it gives me 2 viewers.

A schedule can be worked around your school schedule. Just whatever works best for you!
Streaming games that arent oversaturated is HUGE. My experience & numbers :
4 years in CoD and Halo : 700 followers & 3-5 avg viewers
6 months streaming a small mobile game: 1100 followers & 10 avg viewers now
Also the 0 viewer tip is helpful. When I started streaming, I would pull up my own stream on my laptop & phone. Getting ahead of the 0 viewer streams is nice.
Networking, Raiding & supporting other streamers is extremely important as well.

I always considered raiding a form of cross pollenation in a sense. You're helping support another streamer while, like you said, also promoting yourself slightly. I always just thought it was fun. Once I got more in to the community of a certain smaller game, I realized how much we/they all supported and raided each other. Which in turn, gave each other more viewers and potential followers etc
A very Important part to stream is the Quality. How are you as a person, how is ur Mic, ur music, how you talking and interact with ur chat. Stuff like that.

Yup my mic sounds like crap through a stream lol. I can only use the mic through my headset right now so when I breathe it sounds like a hurricane. Wish I could get a separate mic for better sound quality.
RowdyTitan in your streaming software in your mic settings you can add a mic noise gate. Allows your mic to pick up only when you’re talking. Helped me out a shit ton

I admire how you present the expectations people should have and the no non-sense on how this takes hard work and doesn't make anyone rich or popular overnight. Love the tips. What I found out to also help is to figure out and script out what you will be doing before you start the stream so you don't get stuck doing nothing or trying to figuring out what to do while on stream. Solid action with little dead spots.

the scheduling part might be one of the worst nightmares for me as I work rotative shifts every week xD
That does makes it more difficult. In that case, you may have to release a new schedule every week. This is what some streamers do if they have fluctuating schedules.
The way I got a bit more popular is that I got raided 😂
Raids can definitely give you a boost in exposure and bring in some new community members. But they are something you can't control. That's why focusing on what you can control is the best option. That way you may get a raid or two even faster!
