There is a lot of info out there about streaming on Twitch but I figured it was time for an updated video covering everything you need to know. Streaming on Twitch has changed a lot over the years so we have to adapt in order to have the best chance at finding growth on Twitch and success in our streams.
In this video, I'll be covering five major categories of running a stream on Twitch that are extremely important to finding success with your stream. We'll be breaking these categories down and discussing each part of streaming on Twitch to give you everything you need to know to stream on Twitch.
This is a complete overview for those who really don't have any clue where to start. But even those of you who have already started streaming on Twitch may find some of these tips helpful in your Twitch streaming journey.

I just graduated College last month and promised myself I would start taking my channel a lot more professionally being done with school. I wanted to know how people use discord to kindof stream , they use it to host debate and share screens while streaming.
They just open Discord on the screen they are going to show on stream and then they all jump into a Discord call and use Discord for the whole show. But now Twitch has a feature called "Guest Star" that will allow some of the same features on Twitch.
Regardless of whether you become successful or not, streaming looks like a fun way to play games.
It definitely is! It takes a lot more effort then just playing the game but is really fun at its core!

So I am just starting out in the streaming world bought the cap card I have a ps5 I have the two monitor set up but my question is that for my pc could I use a mini pc for stream labs or obs?? Also how do you brand yourself I was thinking of a name that my friends called me in high school and the nick name has stuck every one in my city knows me by that name 😂 would you recommend putting that as my twitch name??

Thanks for your content. I'm a reviewer moving in to twitch game streaming. I already have all the equipment including the Rodecaster pro 2, DSLR's, Shure mic's, lighting, stream deck from my live streams and an excessive amount of audio visual recording equipment. I guess I'm in for a learning curve moving in to gaming from my normal vape product reviews and live streams. I guess I have to take over all the skills I've learned live streaming for the last 6 years. With a little luck i'll be able to build a community up on twitch, Once again thank you for your content I know the time and effort it take to this.
Hey, my pleasure! I'm glad it's been helpful. And it sounds like you have all the equipment and knowledge to stream. Just apply it to gaming now and you're set. Only thing you'll really need to set up would be a game capture screen as well as your facecam. But that is probably something you already know how to do. If not, let me know!

I debated doing a 12hr since there is a tag for it, figured that would get more views on twitch. Don't really know anyone so it's hard to promote tbh.

Hey, thank you! I'm so glad this was helpful for you! And the answer to your question is not really. Just make sure you have a chat feed that includes the chat from every platform you're streaming too. Then you'll be all set, enjoy multi-streaming!
I have a single monitor, however for the time being would it be feasible to use the laptop screen as a second monitor?
Absolutely! That's what I did when I first started streaming. It counts as a second monitor!

Then, once you have tried it, you can determine if you like it or not. Also, I definitely understand about the time difference. I have some Australian streamer friends I never get to watch due to that same thing. haha

@@oscarzapata117 play what interests you. there's competition out there - it comes down to your personality and such to get people to watch you. EagleGarrett LOVES New World. There are quite a few other NW streamers, who have much bigger channels/viewership than he does, but he's playing what he loves and it shows through in his stream.
If you keep trying to find "a game" that is really niche, you may wrangle some viewers, but there may not be that many to support your channel.

Does it matter how long you go live for
Yes, I find a stream of at least 3 hours is best. Anything shorter and it's just not enough time for people to get there from their daily life.

Download OBS, add your camera as a source, set your mic in the settings, connect OBS to your Twitch account, press "start streaming" and you're live!
Also, you could just press "go live" on the Twitch mobile app and stream from your phone or tablet. Lol

Well, based on your current name, I'm guessing your name is Ryan? If so, your current name is pretty good. But if not, think of things that would describe you but have an interesting twist or descriptor.

Is TH-cam even viable for video content anymore with it's new policy change?
Yeah TH-cam is good, but nowadays you really have to study the algorithm if you want the slightest chance of making it somewhat big

@@dexterhines3573 TOS violations often fall on those posting the vids by not following them (a lot of the time using unlicensed copyrighted content and such).
@@Marthisdil nah most times I hear about tos violations is when TH-cam updates there TOS which results in past videos that were ok under the old TOS not ok under the new
