I love Blackpool, it's a real shame how it's suffered, realistically since Freddy Laker and his wonderful fight against B.A. There had to be fall out and seaside towns got hit big. I have stayed in that hotel many times aswell as lots of B&B's, happy memories. I phoned my dad (R.I.P.) from a red public phone box from the top of the tower. I said, "I bet that you can't guess where I am phoning you from?", his answer " the top of Blackpool Tower?"; he didn't even know that I was in Blackpool 😮. Like deployed 👍
This was a delight to watch guys! Loads of fun from start to finish, a proper trip to the seaside, loved it! We are going to put it out there and agree, Blackpool gets such a bad press, but it will always have a special place in our hearts too. We think it is that nostalgic connection. I (Shell) was taken there a lot as a kid with my twin sister, by my mum and my auntie Helen. I can still remember how exciting it was being on the sea front after dark watching the illuminations. Or in the fairground. Happy memories, I'll always love it for that. Later, Pete and i also did the same as you guys for cheeky overnight stays when we first started dating, a LONG time ago!😂. Totally agree, Blackpool is what you make it, and as usual, you two make it loads of fun 🎉😊👌. The tower tour was fabulous, and pretty good value for money too, views were ace! Oh my goodness, Chris Higgitt is hilarious! Does he ever come up for air?😂. Those burgers didn't look too bad to be fair, wonder if he does a veggie option? Probably just the onions 😂🍔. Omg, hot doughnuts with mr whippy ice cream, where have they been all our lives?! 😋🍩🍦. Junk food has to be done at the seaside, it is the law! Blackpool looks so fun, plenty to see, enjoy and experience. Some of the best holidays are those spent enjoying a proper British holiday! Those doughnuts and whippy looked yum! I’m a regular visitor and can’t agree. It’s a town that’s retained its identity, yes it’s had its struggles like many seaside towns continues, but it’s also trying hard to bring itself up. New buildings transport improvements which really weren’t that needed but shows the effort they’re making. Also in general northern people are friendly. I’ve always had a great time visiting there yes the bars late at night add drink and humans and well that’s every town to be fair. There’s hardship here too, employment is seasonal and heavily reliant on visitors. Hopefully they have a long term plan to address this issue. But I’m a vote yes for Blackpool!
I went this weekend and it was lovely, like yeah I wish the government would put more money into it but the people are lovely and there's so much to do

We always have a good time in Blackpool and we're so glad we stayed over this time to experience both the accommodation and the evening (I would say night but we were in bed by 11 - too much sea air and walking!). Excellent Vlog, Seen some of your other vlogs ie North wales. As a child loved coming to Blackpool but as I got older I found “Orlando” not much Disney but the other parks they have over there and have been 14 times since 1995. I remember like you being able to go to Blackpool Funfair and just walking around but then you now have the entrance fee big put off and it’s also the reason we don’t visit Blackpool anymore. I can remember back in the early 2000’s there was a Show on Granada tv and one of the episodes was about Southport and the owners of Blackpool pleasure beach buying Southport Funfair. Southport Previous owners had upgraded Southport and am not Kidding they said it on the show “Blackpool made them a offer they couldn’t refuse” and all you got from the Family that owns Blackpool pleasure beach was how Southport was competition to Blackpool and Hay presto 6 months later they closed Southport Funfair. Keep up the great work 👍👍

All these big British seaside towns have had their day sadly but I find that part of the charm. We haven't been to Blackpool this year but usually try and fit a visit in. The new museum looked great. I reckon Chris Higgit must be the third most visited location by youtubers after the pleasure beach and the tower 😂 I can't believe you crammed so much into one weekend. Great video, guys.

Still not tried one of those famous burgers! Shame about the change to Pleasure Beach admission. Well if it’s good enough for Macmaster it’s good enough for us all! Good recommendation. Ah love the old Carousel. Cracking shots from the top of the Tower. Never tire of the illuminations. Fingers crossed for the Shakin Stevens tribute. Sorted. I have never been to Blackpool but there's so many things I want to do there - shame Pleasure Beach has changed its pricing structure but also want to visit Blackpool Zoo and of course the piers and illuminations. The views from the tower looks fab. It looks like you had a fab day or two.

Burgers for a quid, shakin' Stevens, fart machines, freakin' donuts and ice cream! I'd call that the best weekend ever. I haven't seen a burger for 2 bucks (1 pound) since... I dunno... when I was kid. Except Maccas. They have 2 buck burger special and, yeah, yours looks heaps better. I might have splurged and had two. I'd still fit in the donuts though. Good to see a pier again. How long has it been seen you've done a pier video? Look, I love a good serve of cholesterol, heart attack and diabetes as much as anyone but seriously a full English must come with some sort NHS voucher surely? Lovely photos of your mum Rach 😍

Hello, Rach and Wills! Oh, first of all, how nice to know a little more about your wonderful mother. An artist, a dancer! Amazing... Oh, I have to say that I find Blackpool very interesting, certainly with a nostalgic charm but really charming and fascinating. And there are so many things to do! Climb the Tower, for example. Very beautiful, like the Museum, interactive and fun. But also walking on the beach, always has its charm. Thanks for making me discover this city, guys, I didn't know it. Blackpool to me is the quintessential British seaside town, with the piers and the amusement arcades and entertainment. It might be past its heydey but there still seemed to be a good amount of people around from what you showed in your video and an effort to keep it going with the illuminations and a new interactive museum.
This is a big food fest and loving all the food reviews .. And Blackpool still has the Great British Seaside charm despite it becoming more and more run down … Still you made it a fun adventure - Gosh they’ve modernised the Tower experience !! Love the illuminations and without those Si would be less arsed about our Leccy bill - “this isn’t Blackpool illuminations you know” 😂.. Blackpool hotel life … there’s nothing like it .. anywhere we reckon .. A Blackpool holiday is an institution and the Museum certainly celebrates that ! As a resident of Blackpool. I do care for my home town, yes we have our problems, but what town doesn't and theirs a lot of worst places to live in the UK. People just want to hate on Blackpool because it's easy.

Geee! The last time I was in Blackpool, was in the summer of 1963! I was 8 years old. It were nowt like what's in this video. Mum and Dad put me on a donkey on the beach. Went up the tower, and saw the sea from that height. Never been back. I hear the place is a Hen Party mecca today. Once a bucket and spade place. Arrived on a steam engine train. It used to be a political conference town, I hear. The Victorians made it great. Today, it's a museum. Not a nice place anymore. Wales is MUCH BETTER!

Love Blackpool we go twice a year but I do agree one street back you see the wrecked houses and broken down flats but for a fun 2 days just make sure if you take the kids you bring a full wallet lol

I have never been to Blackpool but there's so many things I want to do there - shame Pleasure Beach has changed its pricing structure but also want to visit Blackpool Zoo and of course the piers and illuminations. The views from the tower looks fab. It looks like you had a fab day or two.

Burgers for a quid, shakin' Stevens, fart machines, freakin' donuts and ice cream! I'd call that the best weekend ever. I haven't seen a burger for 2 bucks (1 pound) since... I dunno... when I was kid. Except Maccas. They have 2 buck burger special and, yeah, yours looks heaps better. I might have splurged and had two. I'd still fit in the donuts though.

I smiled at your comment about Blackpool looking better at night, thanks to all the lights. Years ago I made the same comment on my first (and only!) visit to Las Vegas, I thought it looked quite rundown during the day, it looked much better at night!

Oh, I have to say that I find Blackpool very interesting, certainly with a nostalgic charm but really charming and fascinating. And there are so many things to do! Climb the Tower, for example. Very beautiful, like the Museum, interactive and fun.
But also walking on the beach, always has its charm. Thanks for making me discover this city, guys, I didn't know it. It's a shame that it is so poorly regarded!

Thank you Renata. Yes Blackpool was once quite the place! To be fair it still is, it's just a shame that some of the building now are so shabby. Blackpool to me is the quintessential British seaside town, with the piers and the amusement arcades and entertainment. It might be past its heydey but there still seemed to be a good amount of people around from what you showed in your video and an effort to keep it going with the illuminations and a new interactive museum.
This is a big food fest and loving all the food reviews .. And Blackpool still has the Great British Seaside charm despite it becoming more and more run down … Still you made it a fun adventure - Gosh they’ve modernised the Tower experience !! Love the illuminations and without those Si would be less arsed about our Leccy bill - “this isn’t Blackpool illuminations you know” 😂.. Blackpool hotel life … there’s nothing like it .. anywhere we reckon .. A Blackpool holiday is an institution and the Museum certainly celebrates that ! As a resident of Blackpool. I do care for my home town, yes we have our problems, but what town doesn't and theirs a lot of worst places to live in the UK. People just want to hate on Blackpool because it's easy.

Geee! The last time I was in Blackpool, was in the summer of 1963! I was 8 years old. It were nowt like what's in this video. Mum and Dad put me on a donkey on the beach. Went up the tower, and saw the sea from that height. Never been back. I hear the place is a Hen Party mecca today. Once a bucket and spade place. Arrived on a steam engine train. It used to be a political conference town, I hear. The Victorians made it great. Today, it's a museum. Not a nice place anymore. Wales is MUCH BETTER!

Love Blackpool we go twice a year but I do agree one street back you see the wrecked houses and broken down flats but for a fun 2 days just make sure if you take the kids you bring a full wallet lol
