  • How to raise your prices and change your rate.
    Maybe you're just starting out, or maybe you've been in the creative field for a while, but the one question people always inevitably come to is - When is the right time to raise my price? In this excerpt from one of his talks at Adobe MAX 2022, Chris gives you the simplest formula to know when to raise your prices.

    "You're either growing or you're dying." I've been increasing my rates by just 10% every year. You're really opening my eyes!

    Listen that last part about growing your value hit home for me. I've always been raising my prices each year, including eliminating a lower priced service that TBH wasn't worth the offer. I'm a wedding planner and I charged $3800 for my lowest service, day of coordination but by the time I it's all said and done it wasn't the best service to offer. I stopped offering it the past 3/4 months I've noticed i don't get inquiries for my full service planning. I've already decided to add more value so watching this video is the boost I needed! Thanks, Chris!

    This is so true! I'm actually doing the same technique at this moment. Last week I learn this valuable lesson stop saying that people won't pay you more, if you know you're given quality. Give your honest price to them and then listen. This has been a mind-blowing experience for me. Thanks for always sharing awesome content. I have learn a lot, thank you. 🇯🇲💖

    Hang on a second, he had me till right at the end
    1. If you're getting mostly yes' you're not charging enough or you doing to much
    2. Raise your price after 3 yes'
    3. If you're now getting more no's than yes', then you need to do more and bring more value
    So aren't we back to square one now? I'm confused

    • @danielcastro4930
      @danielcastro4930 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, it's a cycle. If you want to keep charging more you have to keep growing and giving value. When you start to get more no's it's your signal to evaluate yourself and your offer and work to push it forward until you start getting yes' again and keep the cycle going.

    • @thefutur
      @thefutur  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Gary, we can't assume everyone who watches the video will always get a yes. so if you're not getting a yes, then it means you need to upskill and close the gap between your skill and your rate. hope that helps.

    Перевожу. Чел рассказывает про три правила Adobe:
    1. Покупаешь популярное бесплатное приложение (например Figma) и делаешь его платным.
    2. Купленное приложение должно постоянно обновляться - медленно и с багами.
    3. Приложение должно стать многофункциональным и с кучей ненужных функций, работать медленно и требовать ресурсы.
