    Peter Russell speaks at SAND 2016 gathering about the nature of the quantum, light and its relationship to space and time.
    From the deep pools of Eastern wisdom, to the fast-paced rapids of the West, Peter Russell has mastered many fields, and synthesized them with consummate artistry. Weaving his unique blend of scientific rationale, global vision, and intuitive wisdom, Peter brings a sharp, critical mind to the challenge of self-awakening. The next great frontier of human exploration, he shows, is not outer space, but inner space- the development of the human mind. He has degrees in theoretical physics, experimental psychology, and computer science from the University of Cambridge in England, and has written ten books in this area, including The Global Brain Awakens, Waking Up in Time, and most recently, From Science to God: A Physicist’s Journey into the Mystery of Consciousness.

    What Mr. Russell is describing at 6:55 is basically quantum entanglement. At the speed of light, all points in the universe are in the same location at the same time. I think science will probably fail to achieve making a physical object travel at the speed of light. However, there's no reason why consciousness (such as we understand its not being bound by the laws of physics on a macroscopic scale) cannot travel at the speed of light.

    Thank you.
    It is so helpful to guide starting particle of photon into unit of action, then unit of light. Then it goes excitation of field of consciousness. Consciousness is truly fundamental of all existing.

    "All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particles of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. . . . We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Spirit. This Spirit is the matrix of all matter."

    @ 5:46 - "The faster you go the shorter are your measurements of space and the slower your clocks go"
    I love this lecture but this is a common misconception. A physicist on youtube made the same mistake. Moving clocks do not tick more slowly. Picture a spaceship traveling at 97% the speed of light around the earth. What would you observe if you looked out the spaceship's window? Space didn't contract the earth shrunk! Onboard, your clocks tick at the usual rate of 1 sec per sec. However, the clocks on earth have gone haywire. Every second onboard is equal to two hours on earth. I don't want to bogged down in SR.
    Great topic. Russell's a cool cat, he gets it. Lights ontology is further complicated by attempting to describe what light is not. Light created space, time, matter and energy. Light does not exist.

    is it possible that "consciousness" is a field much like electromagnetic or the Higgs field that "allows" us to experience the dimension of light et all spacetime matter and so on

  • @xxxYYZxxx
    @xxxYYZxxx 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    An expanding universe with stable-sized objects is logically identical to a static system with contracting objects. In a static system with contracting content (objects & time scales), the expansion appears to accelerate as the distributed rate of "contraction" (among objects) is the constant function of a growing size ratio between the apparent system and its' contents. The rate of "contraction" is "C", and light is modeled as nested layers, each layer formed by a quantum interaction with some other object. The intersected nesting of layers, each a "former image", forms the history of the universe, ie the "Akashic records", and explains superposition and quantum non locality, and the speed of light, meaning I've just described the unification of Relativity & QM, and Ancient Wisdom to you over a TH-cam comment. Welcome to the 21st century.

    Time and space or timespace is only applicable within the manifested state of being - does mass manifest from light or is mass just a word - words are not things but. Descriptions of thing and subject to current connotations - I think “Science” seek the right answers to the wrong questions - if in fact light does travel at a speed of 186,000 miles per second then “light” is mass the conscious state of being does not travel it’s one with the sum total

  • @9434951766
    @9434951766 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    And add to it , from the point of view of the light as you say , or the original energy as I say , if it didn't go anywhere, or if it was at the same time, the energy that is space imprisoned ( mass) , and not yet liberated ( transformed into energy ) , could not exist and non exist at the same point of time .
    It is our understanding of time that is erroneous, from the point of view of light , it also moves in space , but has no sense to feel it , because it doesn't have any relativity of any other

    If light is everywhere, and it doesn't move through space or time, how are there different wavelengths of light, and why do some points of space-time experience different amounts of light? This sounds like poetry and not like science.

    In real terms, there is no such thing as a photon. Light is a transverse co-axial wave or a perturbation of conscious energy in the Conscious Universe.

  • @9434951766
    @9434951766 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Peter Russel, speed of light doesn't create space or create time .
    Time is a non existence . Relativity is time . From the point of view of light , there is no sense of time , because there is no sense of relativity.
    Electro magnetic energy circling in the sub atomic space creates solidity to show up as what we call as mass .
    Hence em energy superimposed on space particulates to create quanta s .
    Consciousness is the em wave of the lowest frequency, longest wavelength, where the wave tends to be a straight line.
    It is the most fundamental wave , that goes onto create the higher energy wave , and when churned , lay the eggs of mass
