We all experience how the pace of change is speeding up, but seldom do we step back to look at where this acceleration is taking us. In the coming decades, the pace of life will be much faster than it is today leading to technological advances that may be as unimaginable to us today as the current Internet was thirty years ago.
However, we need to consider another consequence of accelerating change: the stress it creates. Whether it be our own biological system, our social, economic, and political systems, or the planetary ecosystem, the stress of ever-increasing change will eventually lead to breakdown-with potentially disastrous consequences, as the impending climate catastrophe reveals.
In the future, we will see technology beyond our dreams, in a world falling apart at the seams. And no-one is to blame. It’s the natural consequence of innovation breeding innovation, leading to an exponential explosion of growth.
So how do we cope with an increasingly unpredictable world? How can we prepare ourselves as the winds of change whip up into a storm of change? And what is the new story of humankind to which this leads?
Science and Nonduality is a community inspired by timeless wisdom, informed by cutting-edge science, and grounded in direct experience. We come together in an open-hearted exploration while celebrating our humanity.

There is lot of kindness/magic in his voice that is very soothing to listen.

Peter uses the phrase 'the natural consequence' [of innovation]. I guess the question we have to ask ourselves then is, what does 'natural' really mean when it comes to human behaviour? What is natural and what is unnatural? Or are we simply saying that anything and everything is considered natural? Have we perhaps now gone beyond what is natural? And might that explain why we are starting to create such major problems for ourselves - because we're no longer in alignment with nature itself?

I love Peter Russel's lectures, they are so inspiring. ... I'm wondering though, if humankind will be much longer part of what he calls the 'intelligence age'? Aren't we on the best way to commit suicide before we can use all the technology plus our common sense (!) to save this planet and our own sanity?

Well I'd agree that no-one is to blame on a _personal_ level. But don't we have to ask ourselves, who or what is actually in control here?
Surely if we're intelligent enough to observe and be able to see the direction and consequences of our own innovations - which, as you point out, are not always necessarily desirable - then we're also intelligent enough to _stop_ the innovating at some stage purely for innovation's sake? In other words, don't we need to be able to take responsibility for our actions as a race, and take control of the situation, rather than merely be swept along by 'the winds of change', as you put it? And if we fail to do that, then perhaps we _are_ to blame (collectively) for the 'world falling apart' after all?

In fact I see exponential explosion of human society as a growing cancer in our beautiful planet

Greed is responsible. The cutting down of all the beautiful trees in the world is responsible for climate change and the loss of wildlife. No to acceptance down with stupid technology. We need to plant trees and pray that we haven't totally screwed up. If anything we have to meditate and slo down life

joe.public does 1+1=2 ?? Or have you some esoteric mathematical formula that proves that wrong??? Over 90% of the scientific community say global warming is not just happening but we are the catalyst, so Einstein why does your subjective landscape make it an objective untruth ??? Have a great day!!!!

@@darren.davies3957 You are forgetting to look at both sides of the argument.
There are well established FACTS that tell us that CO2 follows temperature with a massive lag.
C02 does not drive the temperature it follows it.
There s a ton of information out there you just need to look at it objectively .
I do have the advantage of being told about the overall plan in the mid 1960's
At the time I though the person telling me was crazy but as things have unfolded I slowly woke up to the fact that he was not crazy he really knew.

@@titoortimo965 How would you have be deal with your insanity?
Anyone who has been paying attention knows with absolute certainty that C02 Methane driven climate change is a work of fiction. When I was first told about the general plan I was a little boy and I did not believe what I was being told. Many years later, when the plan started to get some momentum and the fraud started to appear reported as news, it completely blew my mind and changed my world view forever.
I suspect that you know it is a fraud. And as for ''read books on how life began on this planet.'' you do not know how life began anywhere regardless of what you have read and what does that have to do with the C02 Methane driven climate change which is right up there with fundamentalist Christian rubbish and the mirror image rubbish that Dawkins believes. Theories can be fun and intriguing but they just that.
The reason we have the fraudulent virus with the planned extinction of private businesses and medical/electronic slavery is because the climate change scam was not delivering the intended outcomes.
