How To Create T-Shirt Designs With Canva
In this Canva tutorial, we’ll be going over how to use Canva to create designs for t-shirts and other print on demand products.
Canva is one of the easiest places for beginners to create designs for print on demand products. Not only can you access professional editing tools, but also tons of t-shirt design templates, text templates, and even images to use for your designs.
In this video, you will learn how to use the Canva background remover tool, access professional text templates, add images from the Canva image gallery, and tons more.
We will also go over how to export your design with a transparent background so you won’t have a white or colored square behind your image when you add it to your print-on-demand products.
For this example, I’m actually going to go over how to create a t-shirt design using an image of my dog. We will remove the background from the image, and add text and other graphics to create a cool design to sell in my print-on-demand store.

Hi there, I have one doubt is it good not updating paypal rmail address at first when we create a brand new teepublic account because unfortunately if our account got banned it is doubtful to use the same paypal address( which we used in suspended account) in another new account. My point is it is better to add paypal address after getting few sales and after our shop runs well. Am I correct. I am really waiting for your reply :)

When it comes to design size, are we able to type in specific dimensions, or do we just use the slide bar?
Sure! From the home page, click the ‘Create Design’ button and you can select custom dimensions and set any pixel size you wish

Will the DPI be okay exporting from Canva?
Yep! Just make sure you use high quality images and a template at least 3000 pixels 👌🏽
Can I add 2 images to a shirt design? I can add one, but when I try to add another it takes over the whole page and attaches to the background. Detaching won't work because the first picture is gone. Thank you :)
Hi Natalie! That happens sometimes when you try to drag images over to the template. Try clicking the image to add it (instead of dragging), and you should be able to remove the background. Best regards!

I get the white border no matter what I do, I have Canva Pro and have exported it and then re-uploaded it to the sheet and it still has the white border.
Make sure you’ve first used the background remover on the image, and then select to export with transparency when downloading

Jason, I saw on TH-cam that for T-shirts for Redbubble, the pixel size should be 10,000 X 10,000? Is this true? Cos Canva's T-shirt pixel size seems to be 1555 X 2000? Omg..so that means I have to resize all my designs b4 uploading them? Thanx❤
10,000 is huge lol. 3000 or 4000 pixels should be plenty. You can resize during exporting 👌🏽
