    Just a quick tip: when you launch wait a little longer before letting off the brakes so the turbos have more time to spool up

    FYI, M cars look for engine and transmission oil temps to be within normal operating range before it will allow launch control… won’t engage if it’s too cold or too hot. But with the F85 using the ZF auto, it’s torque converter being a fluid coupler is not “dropping” a clutch like a DCT or SMG would… so aside from the driveline shock, wear and tear on the tranny is negligible. Any accelerated breakdown of the transmission fluid caused by frequent use of launch control can be easily remedied by preemptively changing it.

    Have you thought of installing Xhp Flashtool for the transmission? I did it on my F86 with a BM3 stage 2 tune and it not only protects your tranny but with customization of the settings it will transform your car from beast mode to savage mode.

    • @eddiemcars
      @eddiemcars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @curryandroti1
      @curryandroti1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@eddiemcars It can increase the transmissions Line Pressure by approx 15%. In addition you can customize launch control and shift points. It might sound crazy but I feel safer with this trans tune installed especially when the engine is tuned for increased HP/TQ.

    • @eddiemcars
      @eddiemcars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bro. Finally got a new(ish) X5M. Heres my inititiation: th-cam.com/video/BroM3CgqlZo/w-d-xo.html My Launch control didn't work that time tho! It didn't shift into 2nd. But sometimes it works, sometimes not. I see the checkered flag on the dash so I know for sure I'm in launch control mode, but it just randomly doesn't work sometimes. Any idea why?

    • @eddiemcars
      @eddiemcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure. My M3 was like this too. Inconsistent launches. Sometimes it would spin the tires through 3rd and other times it would hook and go.
      Thing to make sure. Manual mode(it will shift automatically)
      Make sure your foot stays on the gas pedal past the resistance point (should feel a button under it that’s called the “kick down”switch)
      If you lift off.. even slightly, it will automatically cause launch control disengagement.
