    Thanks for all the great content! You just got yourself a new subscriber 🙂
    Sorry if it was mentioned and I didn't catch it but what's the break-in period for the M340i when you take delivery of a brand new car? I have one on order and hope to get it by end of November and can't wait!

    • @BMWofFW
      @BMWofFW  ปีที่แล้ว

      M340i doesn't have a break in period... only the bigger twin turbo V8 cars have it and full blown M cars.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, so no limitations on top revs and speed when the car is new?

      Tem sim amigo, todo carro novo precisa passar pelo periodo de amassiamento, geralmente varia de 500KM a 2mil km no maximo.

    I do exactly the same thing, I have a BMW M8 coupe and when I release the pedal the rear tires slip a little and then accelerate in launch control and I have 4WD activated, any idea why that's why I try to improve my numbers. I would appreciate some help

      My dealer was convinced my 50e w/ M Sport package has launch, tried every way & can’t find. I did see a 0-60 of a 24’ X5 50e going in to launch on dash, wondering if it was in Europe. You can immediately jump to “Sprint” mode if you hold left paddle shifter

    Nice video although I would say the coolant temp being at temperature is one requirement but you forgot to mention that the oil temperature also needs to be at operating temperature. In my experience the coolant temp will always get to OT well before the oil does. In the manual BMW says approximately 6 miles is required to get everything up to temperature. For those interested you can see the oil temp in the sport display.

    • @BMWofFW
      @BMWofFW  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@chrisb7161 all true… i was operating under the assumption that a car being up to operating temp was a given but you’re correct, never assume anything hahaha last thing i need is someone saying “i started my car and went to launch out of my driveway… “

    Since you have to put the transmission in S MODE do you have to shift yourself when using launch control ?

    • @BMWofFW
      @BMWofFW  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Even though it’s counter intuitive, as long as your foot is mashed to the floor and you’re in launch mode NO you won’t have to shift, it will do it for you. The second you let up it goes back to manual S mode.

      3)S3 shift mode
      4)DSC OFF
      5) Brake Firmly to the floor
      6) Accelerator SLAM to the floor (you'll see the launch control flag when done right)
      7) Release the brake but KEEP RIGHT FOOT PLANTED. even though you're in Sequential driving mode in Launch Mode it WILL shift for you into the next gear... the second you lift off it will go back to normal and not shift automatically anymore.
