    Solid job. Cleverly thought out !
    There was no chance a nexus would have got you where you are with your fine water quality !!!!
    K1 is great media but just not perfect within a nexus !!! Profi drum, bio chamber and shower is the way to go !!!!

Just keep doing what you’re doing and that eye just might get back to normal. If not I won’t be concerned providing it doesn’t show any other symptoms. Nice to watch a decent koi keeping Video. Great video and love your filter room set up, I have a air source heat pump on my 3000gal pond which does a good job but I was looking at fitting a gas boiler same as yours for winter and use the air source for summer when it would be more efficient. Could you give a bit more inside into the plumbing and set up needed for the gas boiler. Thanks Andy

      As for alternating which heater to use depending on time of year, I actually went to Absolute buy a ashp when I received a huge bill from running a 3kw electric heater and while I was waiting to speak to Darren I got talking to a chap who had been running a boiler for years but had fitted an ashp to save money in summer but he said then the only time the ashp was more cost effective was when the air temperature was really high but in general on those days the heater wasn’t com-in anyway so he said he just ended up having the ashp as a back up heater.
      Think you will be impressed 🔥

    Frank really impressed with your channel and was wondering if you could share the plans and costs for your giant shower. I’m interested in doing the same with my pond. Cheers

      A up mate, I’m not actually sure how much they are as we had a bit of a deal. give Darren at absolute koi a shout. He should still have the plans for mine and he can give you a price. Mine is a 1.5m double 👍

      Cheers Bobby. I really hole it does, I’m very tempted to have it back out and see it in needs a help to pop back in or if there is something behind keeping it out wether is be some sort of growth/tumor or swelling 🤞

      @@thekoichannel264 I wouldnt touch physically. Your waters defo good enough to get the swelling down. I've had a couple down the years scratch their eyes (I'm not saying that's what it's done, it could be anything) I run my pond at 60ish and their eyes cleared up. It can take a while my sanke took nearly 4 months to go back down

    Great pond. I’m interested in the pleco. What sort of temps can they go down too in winter?

    • @thekoichannel264
      @thekoichannel264  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Daniel, it’s a common Pleco. Iv got it to keep the weed on the sides down. I put 3 in but 2 have died, both was when my old heater let me down and the temp dropped too quickly.
      They can “survive” to quite low temperatures, I know others have had them down to 12c and they live in rivers that have low temps. Personally I wouldn’t want to let them go below 15c and as Iv found out temperature stability is really important 👍

    Hey great job on the shower !
    What’s your pond turnover time ?
    What size is your pond ?

    • @thekoichannel264
      @thekoichannel264  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mohsin, the pond is 3300 gallons/15,000L.
      The turnover through the filter system is roughly once an hour 👍
