I use the Wyze outdoor camera in a storage unit with no power and it works great. I don’t need a great image in a small space. I’m still glad there is a battery option. I have 2 v3s on the way for areas with power. I hope a updated pan cam version comes out.
@@08HR350z I hope the pan cam gets the same v3 camera because it better quality and works in low light. I think a batter powers pan can would drain the battery quickly.

Exactly! GOD 1st people who gets it!! You want quality 100%? You have to pay for it!!! Why look for as cheap option when you know that more than the 60-80% of the times the cheap option means cheap quality products!
I like you comparisons of the Wyze Cam v3 versus the Wyze Cam Outdoor. The Wyze Cam Outdoor does not meet my present needs due to it’s limitatations I would to a some kind of mesh connection with the Wyze Base Station.
My experience with Wyze 3 cam: Night color vision is great! (But you have to turn off night vision*). I was very disappointed on the detection area, done with a square or rectangle box, which it is worthless when you have plants or trees moving. Wyze should use smug areas like the one use with Warden cam app.
Glad I came across this video becus I was gonna buy a few out door. Although I need 1 wireless but was going to get 3 additional cams just becus. I have v1-v3 and like them all in their own respect. Appreciate all your hard work

I have the wise cam outdoor and it works as advertised and serves my purposes. Excellent overall and even better with a cam plus subscription. I can’t use a wired cam, so the outdoor cam is a no brainer for the price and features.
Wyse cameras should have a mini-jack in the back that can connect to an optional external speaker that would be nice, cause their speakers are horrible.
@@lbrookesahm465 if this is sarcasm, OK I got it if not at least a mini external jack to connect it to another source, it doesn't half to be a 12in speaker but one of those mini bullhorns would be nice. Wyze would be much better if they became native to other products than keeping it to their world.
You have a lot of ambient light coming in from the side in these videos. I just tried a Wyze Floodlight which has V3 camera. The night vision is not good! Facial features are completely over exposed with color, with night mode, with the flood on, or off. It seems these cams work well in *LOW* light. But no light or night use with a spotlight has a lot of development needed

The microphone audio quality is very poor on the V3 when it's outside. Pretty disappointing. I seem to remember from your earlier video with the V3 indoors that it picked up your voice pretty well.

I picked up 5 of the v3’s and have been using them for 3 weeks now. The starlight sensor is a major improvement. One thing though I need to get is longer cables. Do you have any recommendations? I see a lot of them on Amazon but I’m sure there are some that are junk out there.
What about ONLY RECORD 12 SEC per event trigger? That means if a crime is going on over 10 min and it only records 12 sec then stop & cool down 5 min then record after every 5 min? Then it lose too many criminal actions during those 4-5min intervals. That's a big TURN OFF or useless to capture the whole crime scene. Pls explain that 12 sec thing. THEY FORCE U PAY SUBSCRIPTION fee to capture more than 12 sec? Big turn off, no freedom. I buy a Wyze/no name hang-type of wifi cam for $15-17 each (though not as clear as V3) and it records everything to a SD card, a subscription is OPTIONAL.
@@alexl932 These are version 3’s which are plugged in and have sd cards in each of them so they record continuously like the indoor version 2’s. I think the one your referring to is the Wyze outdoor which runs on a battery which I have on my front door. That one has a cool down period which I think is completely useless. One day it detected my flag blowing in the wind and recorded that but went into cool down and missed a package being delivered. The cool down can be adjusted to either 1, 3 or 5 minutes and I had mine set to 1 minute and still missed the motion.
This one was confusing. Motion alerts were first ~40 seconds with Cam Plus. Then they updated it, and it was ~4 seconds without a subscription. Then you left a note saying it was still 40 seconds? So did they just update their servers temporarily?

Check your cool down settings and motion detection settings. If you have a lot of events being recorded your battery goes down faster. You can also setup a detection zone to reduce unwanted motion detection. That’s how I have mine setup and I get about 3 weeks of battery life. Hope that helps.
If referring to 5ghz on WiFi... some lower frequency waves perform better on 2.4ghz over longer distances. For 1080p using 2.4 ghz may be optimal in certain settings.
Wyze has stopped free person dectection , you had to subscribe a certain time but as a user and them having my email signed up already and using their cameras, it should have an automatic subscribe system, now I can't get it back. They have motion for free but everything is motion it cannot detect difference between people and things. Also the V2 we have outside doe not detect people on the driveway and the front door. I have talked to Wyze and they say they are sorry and if you want to fix your system or upgrade you have to sign up for a membership. The email they sent went into junk or one of those files because they sent alot of emails and my account just automatically took it as junk or advertisements. Also I don’t have the option for notifications anymore.
the audio quality of the wyze cam v3 is very poor I am disappointed, I am Mexican and I bought it for my city and its app does not have a translation into Spanish, I do not like that you have to buy the plus version for it to work well.
I don't like that you are forced to buy the cloud storage. I just want to record to the camera only. I could imagine how good this will work in Canada at -25C. I'll invest more and buy a Lorex. Good review but I'm not sold on it. I have 3 Wyze V2 cams already they're OK nothing terrific. If I could only buy the cam for $20 OK but no you have to subscribe. I wouldn"t be surprised if your online data is being shared to a foreign communist country.

It’s because of the AI, has to process footage to see if there’s a person

Wyze doesn't recommend it because of no weatherproofing...but I'm pretty sure it will charge with micro-usb solar panels.

15-20 seconds with Cam Plus subscription on both cameras... V3 will have 4-5 seconds and the outdoor 40 seconds without the subscription.

@@alexl932 that is 12 second recording to the cloud but if you have the microSD card, it will still be recorded....all of the motion in the card.
