How was that a miserable life or a tragic death? He was a talented musician who worked hard to become very successful and lived to a ripe old age. Sounds like a great life to me.
Roy Clark was one of the greatest musicians who ever lived. He was extremely talented, funny, a terrific host, and a dear friend to many. He also loved his fans. He once said "That camera looks into your soul and it knows if you are not genuine". The only thing tragic about his life is that he died from a prolonged bout with Pneumonia. At his funeral, hundreds of friends, fellow musicians, and fans paid their respects to this wonderful man. Roy entertained us on Hee Haw for over 25 years and many musicians say their success was due in part to Roy Clark's influence. May he rest peacefully in God's Kingdom.
One of the best guitar players of our time. Not only could be play most genres, he would make you smile from ear to ear with his shenanigans and how easy he made it look. Nothing miserable or tragic about this mans life!!!
I met the man one night after a show in down town Morganton North Carolina. He was as excited to shake my hand as I was to shake his. He really made my son and I feel special. We talked a few minutes and he he was on his way. What a night. What a man.
I attended a Thanksgiving dinner at my sister and brother in law's house. In Grove Oklahoma a few years ago. Several people were there. I noticed a man that looked familiar. He was dressed in overalls and didn't talk much. He sat at the dinner table directly across from me. He was Mr. Roy Clark!! My brother in law was his pilot that flew him to his shows. He was a very humble and kind man. RIP Roy you are loved.
Roy Clark was my very first guitar hero when I was just 8 years old back in the 1960's. Along with my Dad playing guitar and Roy fascinating me I started learning to play guitar myself. Incidentally, years later in my early 20's I went on to work as a professional guitarist and singer for over 35 years. I got to see Roy live a couple of times and he put on one heck of a show! Being from Missouri and living not far from Branson, MO, I saw many country stars perform at his Branson theater. Roy will always be my guitar hero. RIP my dear friend!
Nothing tragic about this. We shall all die. He lived 86 years. And had a very successful and fruitful life. Probably one of the greatest if not the greatest stringed instrument player in the world. I really liked his mandolin picking
I was a young Canadian fan of rock and and been a drummer all of my life. I watched Hee Haw with my parents and knew Roy Clark was extremely proficient on guitar and banjo. I've never seen a photo or film clip of him looking 'miserable'.
I enjoyed watching Roy Clark as a young kid with our family on Hee Haw. Modern day folks say what they want about that show but to us farm community people, it was the only chance we got to see many of the top Country stars of the day. We sure enjoyed it when some of our favorites were on. Roy was excellent! Really miss that kind of Country music these days!
I'm from Vermont; the joke was at the time there were more "kaows" than people living there! Some of us Northerners were fans of Hee-Haw too; (it started off as a summer replacement for The Glen Campbell Hour, another popular country-themed TV series in the 60's.)
He often attended my church in Tulsa. He was very highly regarded. Around Tulsa people would just say and hello and leave him to live a normal life. He would often show up at guitar stores in the area with other country music stars and just jam for fun unannounced.
I hate, loathe, and despise computer narrators. I also don't like the people who utilize them without listening to the product before they distribute it.

I had a friend who was on TV with him in the 50's. He said that he was nice, quiet and like he was always thinking. I think Roy Clark had good and bad times like all of us.
I have collected rock and country records since 1958. I`m a real stickler for good listening. If you want to hear one of the best songs ever recorded, listen to Roy Clark singing, " When I was young ".
Miserable? Tragic? What? Roy was a master of stringed instruments .He also could sing and make people laugh. I am not a big fan of CW but Roy Clark like Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton was the "real Thing".
Thanks. I think he could have launched a career based solely on singing without ever touching a guitar. But lucky for us he could "do it all".@@marydposey
Roy Clark was truly one of the best entertainers & musicians that ever hit the stage. I read somewhere that Roy was only worth One million dollars when he passed away. That was very sad. I always felt Roy got a raw deal from Nashville. RIP Roy Clark.
I read other places that his net worth was around $10 million. However, whether the places that list $1 million, or $10 million seem particularly trustworthy. I suspect they are both low since he seemed to not only be a great musician, but a solid businessman with sound advisors. Not many stay married for sixty one years without having their lives at least somewhat together.
@@thomastommy1192 I found another source that put his net worth at $53 million. That sounds closer to the truth. Google his house, that thing alone has to be over several million.

An amazing guitar player, and all of the other instruments he played. Didn't realize h made his first TV appearance at 16 years of age. What a talent. Doesn't sound like a "miserable" life though. 😒
He was probably the greatest country music musician that ever lived. He could do anything, you can not say that about any musician today or in the past. Maybe others who were great and their individual talents have nothing on someone that could play any string instrument during his time, where you could have said he was right here with Scruggs on the banjo, maybe the best of all time on violin if he only focused on that, could play the guitar, mandolin, and started as a pro at 16. He took every song and made it better, his career was American Idol today. He could have took all the instruments and played a whole song in sequnce by himself. He is truly a multi generational talent for the next 300 years.
The tag line, like so many similar videos, is very misleading. Every life has normal highs and lows, but I didn't see anything in here that led me to believe he suffered a "miserable" life, and his death resembled that of plenty seniors I've known.
To all that are responding to the “tragic” aspect, you do know you are responding to AI, right? That said, he was an awesome talent and is sorely missed.
