    I'm in Florida, so this looks perfect for upgrading my kayak to have a trolling motor.

    Love the weight savings and also was able to place all three on side with still a lighter weight than two 31 series lead cell batteries!

    You might want to include the word Mini in the title of the video. I’ve been searching for reviews and this doesn’t come up. We’ve had three installed in our van for about a month. Works as expected.

    I am impressed with the compact form factor and the current price. The weight is still about the same as any 100amp Lifepo4, maybe a pound or two lighter in some cases. I have an RV and was thinking about adding a few extra batteries, and this might be my answer. Just need to think about some type of temperature cutoff for the charging unit. There has to be something out there that is external to the system, or maybe I just need to add my own heating blanket to the batteries. The wheels are turning again.....thanks.

      How do you figure “the weight is about the same as any 100 amp(Hour) LifePO4 ? It is Very Clear that it is substantially lighter.

      4 to 5 pounds lighter :-) than the standard size 100ah lifepo4

     @GearGadgetReviews I plan to buy the DL24P tester. I like your double-wire test leads at 02:37. Where can I buy it? or did you make it? Thanks for the content!

    Pouch cells are smaller that prismatic, thats why the battery is smaller, even the prismatic cells in the standard li time 12v100ah are way smaller than the case.

    That thing is tiny for a 100 AH. As far as the battery box, you could just use high density foam and cut it to the sizes you need. Imagine packing it into a shipping box

    Ii time us is not a reliable company, the company not responsible for missing packages. The FedEx made a mistake delivered my packages to wrong address, and li time us doesn’t want to refund my money. Already deal with them almost a month, now I have to do dispute on my credit card charges. It’s been a terrible experience.

      You're kidding right? Sounds like you should be asking FedEx to pay for your lost package. It's not Li Time's fault at all (0% fault).

      About as tall as a standard GC2 Six volt golf cart battery. Fits better in marine battery compartments.

    I wonder what they've done to shave about 6 pounds off of the standard-sized 100AH LFP battery? The form factor is great and the price is certainly good, but I don't know how you lose 6lbs by just putting the same cells and BMS in a smaller case. All I can figure is they are using LFMP cells, which have a theoretical energy density that is about 20% higher than regular LiFePO4 cells. If that's how they've managed to reduce the weight this much I don't think you'll see everyone chasing this form factor, especially since so many people expect Group 27 and Group 31 batteries to have specific dimensions.

    These are pouch cells watch out ! They easily rupture if they swell or are damaged .

    • @StansE250
      @StansE250 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you notice the interior of the case, it is molded with isolation ‘grids’, and has aluminum plates, and long bolts to keep compressed. This, in comparison to Prismatic cell form factor with big pieces of foam, and tape. The difference suggests an Extremely Low likelihood of swelling. Puncture … I agree that pouch cells would be more … ‘vulnerable’ than the (Thin) aluminum cases of prismatic cells. I suppose if there was a catastrophic enough instance that the outer case was obliterated, we’ve got Bigger problems, right ?
      I keep them in an additional secure enclosure, that I made from aircraft aluminum.
      The ONLY thing that remains unclear to Me, is the idea of ‘Thermal Runaway’ that has been mentioned in Pouch form factor. I have to to read any science-based explanation drawing a specific correlation…. Thermal Runaway : LifePO4 Pouch cells.

    Can you run it in series with another lifepo4 battery? Like a added 50ah?

    • @GearGadgetReviews
      @GearGadgetReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You only want to run same battery with same BMS types in series or parallel.

    Does anyone have any ideas as to how this "mini" battery has as much power as the regular sized 100 Ah? Could there be downsides?

    • @Sylvan_dB
      @Sylvan_dB ปีที่แล้ว

      Other channels have taken them apart.
      Instead of using 4 big aluminum cased cells, it has smaller pouch cells (I think 8, connected in series parallel). The larger 100ah also typically have a lot of empty space inside, and the mini is packed pretty tight.

    • @jackmehoffer7819

      Because Li Time Mini uses pouch cells not prismatic cells .

    Only thing preventing me from This or Redodo’s “Mini” is the Pouch cell format. I cannot get a concrete, fact-based assessment of the ‘cost’ using lighter, more compact pouch cells.
    What I seem to find is subjective, unsubstantiated assessments.
