I purchased 8 of this happymodel 1404 motors 2 years ago before covid. I only needed 1 motor because I fly single rotor helis. But I purchased 8 because I wanted them to expand the market of this motor. They succeeded in expanding the market of this motor.

Go to the Configuration section in Betaflight configurator. Turn on Dshot Beacon with the two sliders. Enable the beeper on an AUX channel in the modes section. Done.
Kudos to Happymodel for jumping on ELRS bandwagon early. Can't wait for these AIOs to become ubiquitous.
Only a matter of time... all the boards will come with ELRS and no way to add crossfire... crossfire gets locked out. LOL. 😂🤣😂😁

Every quad should be made like this between whoop style and 5 inch IMO. Unless your doing long range. Maybe different options in motors. If any manufacture see's this they should make different reciever options , different motor options, this thing would sell out. If you could keep around 150$ price point.

Maybe I need to rewrite the rules for more clarity? In the month of September, I will release 6 videos with one of the characters of the code you need to enter on the entry form. You can only submit the entry form ONE time. If you make a mistake I can't fix it. You can gain more chances to win by commenting on every video I release in September. If I release 20 videos and you comment on each one, that counts as 20 chances. If you answer someone's question on a video, you get an additional 10 chances. Let's say you comment on 20 videos and answer one question in September, you have a total of 30 chances. Let's say hypothetically, there is only one other person who entered the contest but they only left one comment in September. They would only get ONE chance. So in the digital hat with raffle tickets, you get 30 tickets in the hat, the other person gets one ticket... who do you think has the better odds?

Should be pads available and open UARTs however I don't have that board to confirm.

Awesome review as always. This is available for 190$ with. polar Nano and elrs. Is it worth it. Also does the esc being 12 on elrs and 20 on d8 matter or it’s fine ? Also what props do you recommend ? I may just pick this one up instead of the Digi whoop simply cause it seems like a steal of a deal.
Am I missing something? Is there a catch cause $ 190 is what I pay for just a vista polar or nebula here in India it feels like the quad is virtually free!
That's a steal. Grab it if you can for that price. The stock props are fine. The Gemfan 3520 will give you more power and less flight time and also stress the ESCs more. Just leave it stock.

Hi Albert and many thanks for your very helpful videos! I bought an happymodel crux35 elrs version and it flies good but maybe it could fly better with a little tune. I noticed someting strange in my filter tuning, compared with the UAVtech presets, especially in the dynamic notch filter width percent it says to put it to 0 but mine is to 8! I tryed to put the uavtech presets for toothpick category but the drone is unflyable. Can you tell me something about this please? I would appreciate it. Thanks
Those presets are set up in a certain way for those filters and you'd have to ask him the reasons why. Probably because it's for RPM filter. The notch filter width percent is probably high for a reason. Perhaps some vibration in the frame. I didn't design that tune so I can only guess. I'm using just the stock tune and mine seems to fly OK. Not sure what you're looking for to improve the tune as you weren't specific about that.

And I know that it is not so good to filter a lot. I can find some vibrations while it flyes especially with low speed, propwash. as it is a very strange filter tuning maybe it could be useful to see your point of view to improve the drone.

Hey Albert, I was scrolling through looking for your weight numbers and I caught a brief glimpse of a message about following the rules. Then when I tried to find that again I couldn't. Is this a new feature on TH-cam when scrolling through videos? Or did I just miss the message on the video going back through?
Not sure why you can't see it as it's embedded in the video itself and there is no TH-cam feature used here. Yes, you need to follow the rules on the giveaway form to qualify. Only qualified entries have a chance. Otherwise, don't waste your time.
10 minutes is quite a long time under the goggles. I’d consider that more of a cruiser. Price is great on this quad though so it definitely should sell well
Yes, a great cruiser but can do some light acro/freestyle as you saw in the second flight demo. This is perfect for the GO2 camera with my mount.

Those frames are not compatible but you could make this into a cinewhoop with the right prop guards.
Hello. Albert i love Your video's. You helped me once so I could run naked thumb on meteor 75. Now i upgraded for Crux35 v2 f411 aio 20a uart elrs. And everything is fine but I have an issue. At higher throttle engine noise is like chopped and there are vibrations. It doesnt sound smooth at throttle punches... not Uuuiiii... more like burrrrrr. What can be wrong (new one, there was a flight when it was smoother I didnt change anything, radiomaster tx12 mk2 elrs, gnb 4s 650mah) lihv)
Most likely the PID tune needs adjusting. I suggest looking into adding more TPA around the throttle point where you start getting vibrations.
What would be your choice between this and the Twix xl from betafpv? Performances wise it seems the betafpv is slighlty better but this happymodel cost less, has a built in stand for external camera (such as peanuts) and above everything else is already ELRS...What is your opinion? What should I buy?
You already seem to know as much as me. I personally would choose the Crux35. Both are great though.
How tight insta 360 go2 sit in this mount? Could it fly away eventually?
What material did you use for print?
It's fairly tight. Unlikely to just slip out but some of that will depend on your printer settings too. I used sainsmart TPU with 100% infill.
Would you recommend the 20amp frsky verson with a replaced receiver? Would there be any benefits to having a high amped ESC?
I don't think they make the FrSky version anymore. More amps is better if you crash a lot since you'll get big voltage/current spikes in crashes. Otherwise, no real benefit on this small/light model.

What do you think about this for spec park racing? Think it will hold up. Love the cost and atractive for getting into the hobby/sport.
It's pretty light, I suppose with a smaller battery it should be OK for most crashes but you'll eventually find a way to break it and the arms aren't replaceable so you'll have to replace the whole bottom plate which isn't ideal. Maybe get this for the parts and use a different frame?

Usually the bare frames come out as spare parts after the first few batches of the BNF are shipped out to all the stores. Typically about 4-6 weeks from now.

I don't think you need to do anything on SPI receivers. Just hit Bind Receiver in the receiver page to put it into bind mode. Then hit bind on the transmitter. If that doesn't work, you can manually "set expresslrs_uid = 0,0,0,0,0,0" then "save" and that will also put the receiver into bind mode.

Yes, all brands work interchangeably as long as you flash the same version of firmware on each component.

Hi Albert. I saw than the fc is a 3-4s power, Did you try it in 3s? Do it work?
Yes, it works but the motor KV needs 4S voltage to fly properly. The PID tune will need to be adjusted and you can't have any extra weight on it or it might not get off the ground.

Hey there Albert. Thinking of picking up this board... Did it seem to hold up OK to 4s? Was wondering if it might work with 1804 3500kv but maybe that's a bit much. Do you think a jhemcu or zeus35 20x20 aio would fit that frame? (they are a bit longer)
1804 might be OK depending on the weight. More weight, more amps, so keep it light. I'm not sure the other boards will fit. It's very tight in there. Also remember this board has the USB port out the bottom unlike the other boards.

Does the express LRS RX work with the Frsky 9X lite transmitter?
If you have the eLRS transmitter module, firmware versions are the same, and you have updated your OpenTX to support eLRS. See my eLRS videos for more details.

This one is the all around better choice. The XL is probably only best for the very experienced pilots who can take advantage of the slightly better performance. Most normal pilots will not notice a difference worth the extra money.

Just an optical illusion. No danger of them getting chopped off as long as it's in the TPU holder.

Are you asking about durability since beginners might crash a lot? If you fly it over grass it should be fine. Over a parking lot, not so much. I'm not sure it will be able to lift a 4S 18650 pack. Might be too heavy. I have not tested that scenario however.
I've been looking at this model but can't find any info if crossfire can be installed, I have no need for ELRS but have spare crossfire nano RX's can crossfire be installed and ELRS disabled?
You can disable the SPI receiver by just choosing Serial and CRSF in Betaflight and solder up the crossfire to an open UART. Wiring diagram is on happymodel's website.

No one knows yet. Some guys have tested 100mW out to 40KM and they ran out of video range. ELRS will definitely go farther then your video so you only have to worry about failsafe if you have interference or something was setup incorrectly with your equipment. I've seen a few failsafe problems but those have been known to be user error issues. Unfortunately, no system is good enough to beat stupid people. Haha.

Hey Albert, if you use ND filter and adjust the shutter speed you can eliminate jello without soft mounts. On a sunny day I use nd16, 1/20, 100 iso, under manual mode through phone app.
Yeah, someone else also suggested this to me in an earlier video but it didn't work for me. Also, 1/20 shutter speed just makes a lot more motion blur which makes it look like the jello is gone, but it's still there. 🤷♂️

Looks can be deceiving. Remember, this is very light. So not a lot of mass to cause a lot of damage. We'll have to see how it holds up in the real world after many people have crashed it in a wide variety of ways. That's the only way to really know.
Don't submit give away form, till you have all the letter codes. I didn't realize the form wouldn't be editable after submitting with only one character filled in for the 6 letter code.
That's why I put in there to not submit the form until you have the whole code...
If you watch the videos, you'll see the characters (it won't always be letters). Only one per video but they will only appear in six videos this month. @@BurgerurgerFPV I always hear some little tid-bit of information I missed the first time, but you can always drag the scrollbar to find the special characters, they are large enough font to find through the little preview window.
