I just got mine in the mail today. Beautiful watch and I picked mine up because of your review. One thing they did was increase the watch from 30meters to 100. I'd be confident that it is what it claims based on the quality of the build. I was so impressed with this once it was in hand.
Great review! Based primarily on your reviews, I bought one of these as my second of a five watch collection to replace my 27 year old Rolex Datejust which I'm giving to my son. I'm so impressed with virtually everything about this watch that I might just stop looking any further. The quality, fit and finish and operation is impeccable. Everything worked perfectly, with the exception of the band extension (until I did it enough times to loosen it up). The only negative is the disappearing act of the hour and minute hands at certain angles in low light situations. The weight of this watch is perfect on my wrist. If I had paid 10 times the amount I paid, I'd probably have still been thrilled with my purchase (until I found out I'd been ripped off, that is).

@@birdie021 Hi buddy! If you are looking for a solid Daytona homage I think you would be better off going with Parnis Daytona Chronograph. It has the same Seiko Meca-Quartz VK 63 movement as the one shown in the video here. It also has all the cool features as a ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal, 316L stainless steel case and bracelet ( solid link with screws), screw down pushers and an overall amazing package! You can find it on AliExpress and it's in the same £50-60 category as the Pagani Design shown in this video. You can check out the ID Guy on TH-cam, he has done a superb 2 part review of that watch. The reason I'm helping you is because I was in the same spot as you are now. ;'D I have it as my daily driver for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it!
I don't recomend buy from parnis. I made a purchase and they sent me the wrong watch and with scratches and I had to pay the post service to return the watch. Don't buy a parnis watch from their website.
@@vamheredur413 I looked into the Parnis, but it didn't have the date complication like the Pagani. I also liked the tiny bit of red "sport" text on the dial of the Pagani.
I'm a sucker for Chinese specials and own many (Parnis GMT Master, Corgeut Railmaster, etc). That said, this one's at the top of the hierarchy in terms of quality. Cracking piece!
Bought this white Daytona for myself and managed to find a previous aquaracer model homage as a present for someone who is also getting into watches recently. Thanks for all these videos man. They are greatly appreciated.
The one I bought a month ago also has 100M engraved on the back.. I suspect they just increased the spec without any change in the actual watch though.
Thank you for getting me into Pagani Design Jody, I really enjoy these watches, I can’t afford a Rolex at the time and I really enjoy having the looks with a more than decent quality, i just got this one but with the black dial, I am very happy with it
Picked up the Parnis version 6 months ago on a whim, not expecting much, but I love it! On a leather strap it looks fantastic. I think the Pagani might be a bit better, the Parnis has a push pull crown. My last 3 watches have come from Corgeut, Parnis and Loreo, under $300 cdn for all 3 and they're ridiculously good!
Great review. I have this one and I just bought the Blacked out and rainbow one too. The newer ones are now 10 bar water resistance. Very good watches for the price.
Got my "Daytona" a couple of days ago from Trendy Mens Watch Store and WOW. Pretty amazing what $67 will get you in 2020! It's been a long time since I've worn a quarts watch and I'm quickly getting spoiled to never wondering how off my watch is or whether I need to wind it. I'll almost certainly get a Pagani Design "Submariner" soon.
Jody...Thanks again for feeding my watch addiction.... I just ordered this one You add to my collection of “Value homage watches to luxury models I like, but will never spend the money on”...One real Rolex is enough for me…
I bought this watch because of your review. I chose the black dial because of your comments regarding the readability of the silver hands on the white dial. My insight on the black dial -- hard to read. The dial is so very busy (to be expected on a chronograph). If you wear glasses for reading...you're gonna need to use them to read the black dial watch. I also agree with the clasp issues. That one edge of the buckle does not lie flat with the bracelet. and is sharp. All in all...a beautiful watch that feels good on the wrist, and seems to be pretty tough, and very accurate (-- even if you can't read the time in compromised lighting).
Your like the James Brown of watch reviews, the hardest working man in the review business! I can't keep up with all your veidos, awesome job! Keep up the great work
hey Jody I spent the last few hours watching some of your videos, I love your presentation style and iconic "Hello" at the start. Love the scottish accent too. I like how you cover many different types of watches at all price points and it makes for interesting viewing. Keep up the good work mate!
Thanks for the video review. I ordered the latest model PD1644 using one of your links and received it today. The 2022 version has silver rather than black hands, making it harder to see them - not sure what they were thinking. Still, it looks pretty nice and I may order it one or two of the other colors (just as you like dive watches, I like chronos). Truly a bargain, considering what you get. If this was microbrand, they would be charging a LOT more. My watch came with the stainless steel bracelet and a nice looking NATO strap. Please make a video showing how to remove and replace the strap on the Pagani Design watches.
Picked this watch up today for $58.95 on Aliexpress using your link of course. I have loved the Daytona since I first saw the watch but could never afford it. I saw this one in your review and knew it would be mine. Thank you sir.
I bought one, based on Jody's review, and it really is a beautiful watch. £46.99 on eBay including free delivery, from China, in 5 days! Incredible. It is simply amazing value. Mine says 100m water resist on the caseback? I love it.
I have had mine for months now and it is superb. Does wear well. Not going to test it but I’m sure I have seen this watch tested in a pressure vessel at 100 m. I have plenty of other fully waterproof watches to take swimming.
You can't refuse this, especially with a Seiko quartz movement, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown and pushers, screw-down back, and ceramic bezel. I just ordered the rose gold with a black dial for $75. Heaven help me. Need to go to a local chapter of WBA. (Watch Buyer's Anonymous). It comes with a silicone black band.
Thanks for the tip! Was eyeing this watch for some time ever since you reviewed the Pagani Design. Mine's on the way, courtesy of your link. Pity its not from the Cadisen original store otherwise more discounts. My first Quartz after so many years
Hey Jody, just want to say I love the channel. It's good to see a fellow tight Scotsman who loves watches doing so well. Your video inspired to seek this one out and I managed to get it for £48 on Ali and I am delighted with it. Serious amount of watch for the money.
I’ve been watching this watch since the first time you recommended it! Just ordered from your link (by the Ali app, hope it gets through to you). Thanks!!!
I had been eyeing this up for a while now, ordered last night on the AliExpress sale. Managed to get it for $96 NZD ($61 USD) with a coupon too! Cheers Jody
I have had the Parnis version for some time and really like it. Not bothered by it being a close homage, but do have the same issue with the clasp. Still, very happy with it! Hard to beat those specs for the money, and Rolex did design a beautiful watch which (in my opinion) Parnis might have even improved on in some ways. Love your review, as always!
Get that free bracelet on Jody!! Its your special gift! Torn between this and the Parnis . Wish I could see them in person. Parnis doesn't have a screw down crown oddly enough. Cheers!
Still reeling from Covid economy, i am interested in modding watches on a budget. A set of watches i can mess with, collect and tinker with is right up my alley. Just save up and get a high-end? No thanks. I enjoy your videos and have utmost respect to your reviews. I gave my son my old Victorynox and have been grabbn a few of these sub 100 dollar watches for fun.
My first of these Paganis, the black one, was rated for 30m water resistance. The second, the white one, is rated at 100m. I doubt that they've made any changes other than the rating stamped on the back, and I have no idea which, if either, is correct. But I took the 30m one swimming today with no problem. Hope this info is of some use.
Thanks for the anecdote. Jody never did his pool jump that he promised! I think you're correct about the 30m vs 100m case backs being just superficial. I have one on the way and if it is one of the working ones I don't think I'll take it in the water. (that's what my Seikos are for 😉)
Had my eye on this from one of your previous videos and actually pulled the trigger on it first thing this morning when the sale window opened. This review is quite reassuring Jody, but I'll wait to see how yours holds up in the pool before I dive in so to speak! 😁
I just got mine from eBay. Paid $100.00 The pushers have blue tips and it says 100 meter waterproof which I will not be testing. Amazing watch for the money. I love this homage company!
Update: the reason the pushers had blue tips is because I did not realize that it was plastic protection tips that simply pealed off! Man, I feel pretty silly now! Love this watch even though I clearly overpaid for it. Still a great deal at $100 bucks.
Love your reviews. I prefer the Parnis design of the dial to the Pagani. I own a Parnis Coke GMT on the Jubilee bracelet and I am impressed with the overall quality. Would you please review the Parnis chronometer or maybe do a budget chrono Daytona Homage shootout.
Astounding value I have to say... I dunno how they keep pushing these lower! Here's to $20 watches with sapphire & ceramic in 2020!! Pagani do seem to put out pretty solid cases so I do wonder why it's 30m only... some say it's to do with the quality of the buffers and seals, which presumably means that these are non-existent in their 30m watches!
Not that I could afford a real one anyway, but I always got a kick out of the late Carl Ruiz endlessly ragging on the Rolex Daytona due to it's overly complicated dial that made it tough to actually tell what time it was lol.
I actually scuba dive, and I only wear a dive computer and a G-Shock while diving. I really don’t understand why people talk about “dive watches.” Divers don’t wear them.
Because back in the day they were designed to go divinf when there were no dive computers or g-shocks back in the 40,50’s etc. so guess the name just stuck… either way i want them all😂😂
I'm not disappointed with mine - got the Rose Gold trimmed version. Everyone comments on how beautiful it is - and it does grab much attention from other people, watch people or not. But unlike my Addiesdive SD1953 submariner homage (which fools many until I take it off for them to really look at it closely), not one person has ever mistaken my PD1644 for a Rolex Daytona or even thought it was a "Fauxlex" or even a Daytona homage. People do like having conversations about it and handling it. I always end up showing them pictures of a real Rolex Daytona - only then does anyone say "oh yeah - it does sort of look like it". Btw, I do show the rare proper Rolex with white face Daytona in rose gold trim (since it's a homage, might as well use the most like for like comparison). Now many people do think I spent waaaay more money then I did (not in the ten's of thousands though), and it sure does get jaw drops when they learn how inexpensive it is. Quite a few people whom looked at mine have opted to get one. The bracelet...I almost I agree with you it's quite bad. But truth be told, I think it's worse then you made it out to be given the amount of super razor sharp edges, the roughness/stickiness in the links, how much of a bear it is to use the clasp, the even more of bear micro adjustments is to use in the clasp, etc. I feel it is the worst watch bracelet I've ever come across bar none. It's so bad I feel that perhaps Pagani ought to think about selling a reduced priced version - as in just the beautifully executed cased movement without the bracelet (that would be the version I tell people to get).
Hi Jody, I've just viewed 'The Timeless Watch Channel'. He mentions you and your channel and rubbished your recommendations in a most unfriendly way. I don't agree with his comments at all, you are very consistent in your approach and I have purchased some watches based on your findings. I have been very happy with all of them. Please disregard his noxious comments and continue with exactly what your are doing. Congratulations on your channel.
Nah mate, he's OK! It's easy to criticise homage watches when you are wearing the real thing. Everyone has their own ideas about watches, money, life, what it takes to be a 'man' etc. Each to their own! Cheers.
Waste of time discuss angry about watches. Enjoy all of them, I'll pay 1000 dollars for the watch I lose when I was 10. It's says Kellogg's on the wrist band and it's blue. Probably not the cup of tea of this timeless guy. Haha, cheers
Have you heard that there is a 100 meter water resistant version of this PD-1644 model? I asked the seller and they replied that they asked the factory to upgrade to 100 meter and all of their inventory is all 100 meter w.r from now on. The price is about CAD$100 now...you cant find anything in the $60 range anymore.
Bought one! Watching this channel is getting expensive Jody! Actually not as the last big watch I bought (and sold) was my Omega Seamaster 300M... However, the Oris Aquis GMT is calling my name...
I picked up a black one of these a few days ago for £47. The comments on the bracelet are valid, but otherwise it's hard to fault (aside from the design is ripped off from Rolex and the name from Pagani who make the cars) for that kind of money. I'll try mine on a leather strap sometimes (it was seeing someone else's on a leather strap that tipped me into buying). Keep up the great work!
Great review Jody! I heard you said there weren’t any mechanical chronographs for under 200 USD, but I just found one online that doesn’t nevessarily look “dodgy”: the Alpha Daytona. It’s a Paul Newman daytona homage with a fully mechanical seagull chronograph for around 150 US dollars. Honestly, it looks like a great deal but I have yet to see a review of it as detailed as your ones usually are. Could you please check it out or even review it? Thank you!
i have the Alpha Daytona - there are several variations of colour, bezel and strap - It works well and looks good on the wrist. Alpha also do a Speedmaster look alike based on the same Seagull movement. There are a few reviews of the Speedy copy on youtube
I got an ALPHA Daytona with a Seagul handwound chronograph movement. It looked the business and even had a column wheel lever. I paid around USD130 for it. However, I only wore it once or twice before selling it. There's something about these 'homage' watches which leaves me cold, something akin to wearing a fake. I paid less for my Orient Mako XL and yet wear that all the time. I think it's because the Mako XL is happy in its own skin and isn't trying to be anything else.
Ok! Jodi I thoroughly like you! I'm not in for brown-nosing, get anything and the lot! I just think you're honest, straight to the point, funny and in general straight to the point! I left Armand, stopped the Gentry (😏 ya all know what I mean) but I'll watch/follow you any day! You're fun, pro, real and overall great! Keep going!
Thanks for this....as I am newly obsessed with collecting trying to stay on a budget....sure, I like the premiums but I just received my first AddiesDive dress watch....no frills and all thrills so I just ordered a Pagani in ice blue mechanical for $75....I am mostly interested in watches that I can shoot in the studio that look cool...so, worst case these Chinese watches end up just being cool props and it is a bonus if it tells time. 🤣🤓
My watch arrived today and it is now marked 100M water resistance. Looks like Pagani watched your review and listened. Great review, your costing me a fortune Jody.
Bought one of these a while back when I saw it on your Top 10 Aliexpress sale list, it’s a great watch and I’d have to disagree with you slightly on the clasp, I personally like it however yes perhaps it would be better changed for a glide-lock style clasp. Great review as always!
Even something as simple as spoons or rubber bands probably at one point cost someone a retarded amount of money in research and development but once the design is done, the product can be sold for pennies, but obviously big brands want compensation for their research so they add a premium price tag to their inventions

Just got the exact one about 2 weeks ago buying through local online shopping platform similar to Amazon/Alixpress, called Lazada (Alibaba had shares in the company if I am not wrong, it is a popular online sales platform in ASEAN) at about USD 50. Now this model comes with 100m water resistant. However I am not happy with the legibility of the shiny subdial (poor eyesight) especially the 5 minute index marker interval of the chronograph minute counter. You can check out the ID Guy on TH-cam, he has done a superb 2 part review of that watch. The reason I'm helping you is because I was in the same spot as you are now. ;'D I have it as my daily driver for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it!
@@vamheredur413 Thanks!!! I'm not loving the dial on the Pagani, so I'll check it out!
The newest version on the rubber strap is rated for 100m WR. 👍👍👍
Not many will dive 5m let alone 100m but we all like waterproof watches lol. Mine is on the way in Chinese customs now for last 2 weeks..
@@raykokrann1431 thats not how water resistance ratings…
On the basis of this review I bought one of these. NOT disappointed.! Build quality and attention to detail is exquisite
I just got one that lists 100M water resistant, and has the PD-1644 model on the case back.
The one I bought a month ago also has 100M engraved on the back.. I suspect they just increased the spec without any change in the actual watch though.
Thank you for getting me into Pagani Design Jody, I really enjoy these watches, I can’t afford a Rolex at the time and I really enjoy having the looks with a more than decent quality, i just got this one but with the black dial, I am very happy with it
I've had this watch for about a year now and it is honestly one of my favourites. And that's including three Swiss Made and two German ones.
Everyone and their mother now has a review video for the pd-1644, congratulations on being a year ahead of everyone else.
Omg that new intro is amazing! Well done I love your videos!
That's the fastest I have gone from watching a JOMW video to ordering the thing. You are a bad influence 😆
How is the watch 4 months on?
Great review. I have this one and I just bought the Blacked out and rainbow one too. The newer ones are now 10 bar water resistance. Very good watches for the price.
Got my "Daytona" a couple of days ago from Trendy Mens Watch Store and WOW. Pretty amazing what $67 will get you in 2020! It's been a long time since I've worn a quarts watch and I'm quickly getting spoiled to never wondering how off my watch is or whether I need to wind it.
I'll almost certainly get a Pagani Design "Submariner" soon.
This and the Parnis versions are crazy value for the money! Thanks for the great review! 20,000$ crazy!
Recieved mine end March 2020 in UK. States 100m water resist on caseback!
Yes mine too just arrived late May 2020 100m very pleased!
Hey did you order of Aliexpress? Did you have to pay the 20% import?
@@filipmajewski8442 Yes and no, no extra charge.
Jody...Thanks again for feeding my watch addiction.... I just ordered this one You add to my collection of “Value homage watches to luxury models I like, but will never spend the money on”...One real Rolex is enough for me…
Own this for almost a year already. My favorite watch still (had around 10 in total mostly seiko movt)
I wish their absent design team would have put the red "sport" above the 6 o'clock subdial. Other than that, pure value 👌
They should forget to put it on the dial...
Keep up the great work
Love this one Jody! Love your "Pagani Photocopy" comment on Instagram 🤣🤣.
Thanks again for scouring the net for the benefit of our pockets!
hey Jody I spent the last few hours watching some of your videos, I love your presentation style and iconic "Hello" at the start.
I love it.
"Pagani Design... I am not quite sure they have a design team..." omg... that was hilarious Jody!
My first Quartz after so many years
The chrono second hand is misaligned btw. Or the scaling on the dial is. But in 99% of the cases it's the hands (or the seconds hand gears).
Finally received my Pagani 'Daytona' I am extremely pleased with how good the watch is for the money. Your review was bang on.
Cheers!
Parnis doesn't have a date comp on either, which makes it look better and more accurate.
(that's what my Seikos are for 😉)
Just ordered mine an hour ago after watching your 11/11 video can’t wait for it to arrive
I've got the parnis chronograph and it wears amazingly. I think the pagani design chrono would be a bit too big to look better than the parnis.
Gshocks is basically the watch anybody wears diving now a days
Because back in the day they were designed to go divinf when there were no dive computers or g-shocks back in the 40,50’s etc. so guess the name just stuck… either way i want them all😂😂
It's just a historical name at this point, and nice short hand to know the general specifications of a watch.
Finally! I was waiting for your opinion on this. Great review as always!
Man, are you taking speed?! Your churning out like a video every few hours!
And I'm so glad he does. : )
Cheers Jody - have loved these AliExpress reviews. I’ve taken the plunge with this and the Loreo!
Grabbed one of these after the last video! I’m excited to add this to the collection!
Ordered one of these on 11.11 which is now en-route, thanks for the great review and feeding my temptation Jody.👍😂
I bought this one and the Parnis Daytona’s on the 11/11 sale on AliExpress... because I guess you can never have to many Daytona homages
So how do they compare?
Received my PD Daytona today and well pleased with it. As good as you said Jody. Also now states on back cover 100 m water resistant.
hows the second hand?
i hear it gets stuck???
@@edmund8954 So far ok.
Bought one! Watching this channel is getting expensive Jody! Actually not as the last big watch I bought (and sold) was my Omega Seamaster 300M... However, the Oris Aquis GMT is calling my name...
Ordered one last night form your affiliate link. Glad to see I wont be disappointed. Thanks as always for your eye and advice.
Bought this based on JOMW recommendation. White dial. What a watch it is. Really love it. It sits so good on hand. Very good purchase.
Thank you!
I own the Alpha you speak of. Fabulous and fantastic timekeeping. Just dump the awful bracelet and wear on leather.
i have the Alpha Daytona - there are several variations of colour, bezel and strap - It works well and looks good on the wrist. Alpha also do a Speedmaster look alike based on the same Seagull movement. There are a few reviews of the Speedy copy on youtube
Thanks for the plethora of uploads lately. Greatly appreciate the effort!
Subscribed, liked... wait.
Geez man, slow down! My head's spinning.
😂
I got an ALPHA Daytona with a Seagul handwound chronograph movement. It looked the business and even had a column wheel lever. I paid around USD130 for it. However, I only wore it once or twice before selling it. There's something about these 'homage' watches which leaves me cold, something akin to wearing a fake. I paid less for my Orient Mako XL and yet wear that all the time. I think it's because the Mako XL is happy in its own skin and isn't trying to be anything else.
Great review, just picked one up as well as a green automatic sub for Christmas gifts.. Great job as always!!!
Keep going!
Hi Jody
For a watch under $100.00 I think Pagani Design are making some of the best watches out there.
I personally would be so impressed and happy if I could get my hands in the catalog of the full line of Mortima watches.
Bought one of these a while back when I saw it on your Top 10 Aliexpress sale list, it’s a great watch and I’d have to disagree with you slightly on the clasp, I personally like it however yes perhaps it would be better changed for a glide-lock style clasp.
Great review as always!
How quickly can you crank out a video? You’ve been en fuego!!!
I ordered one a little over a week ago. Can’t wait!
"they don't do research and development" no amount of research and development would cause a watch to cost 10k-100k usd let's be real here
Even something as simple as spoons or rubber bands probably at one point cost someone a retarded amount of money in research and development but once the design is done, the product can be sold for pennies, but obviously big brands want compensation for their research so they add a premium price tag to their inventions
daytonas were under $700 in the 70s.
@@henryettoit897 Which translates to around 11K when adjusted for inflation. So still exorbitantly priced.
@@Ahmed____ adjusted for inflation it would've been 5k
My Pagani "daytona" is running 2 sec a WEEK fast !!! And it is perfect! (and for the snobs my Rolex and Brietling are in a drawer)
Lol nobody who owns quality watches like those would prefer to wear some cheap tat from China🙄🙄🙄🙄 keep dreaming.
@@Jabber-ig3iw well I do. The Rolex needs a 500 dollar cleaning.I can wear these "cheap" watches that look nice and not need cleaning every two years for that amount of MONEY. And just for info I did buy both the Rolex (at the Rolex dealer in Zurich that sells the most Rolex in Europe. The Brieghtling I bought in duty free Jersey)
I have ordered one of these Jody at a silly low price of Aliexpress. On the subject of the WR being 30 meters; I purchased one of those GMT Parnis's. Great watch, well made and I do shower and have gone swimming with it no problems at all. I look forward to your swimming test with the Pagani. When I look at my collection it pretty much echoes the range and models you have covered, from my Rolex Explorer to my cheapest ten-dollar Casio's. My latest purchase is the Oris Aquis and A Farer GMT (Oxley). phenomenal watches with a build quality that is clearly the equal of watches x3 more expensive. Love to see a Faarer on one o your shows. You're my favourite watch TH-camr by a country mile and I have been watching them all over the past 5 years. I love the reviews. Best wishes. Chris UK.
Another great review Jordi ! I picked a Parnis Daytona just today with the same exact specifications on aliexpress.
@Quix You're probably right ! although the Parnis is more true to the Daytona I guess as it has no date window, and wears like one (size and weight) !
Can't really tell how many minute had passed from the subdial.
Continue my search for a chronograph quartz with tachymeter ring.
Enjoy watching all your videos.
Hope the lockdown in Brisbane doesn't affect you.
Thanks for the video!
I got one. What a nice watch for $62! Thanks Jody.
The $62.99 price starts again on Nov. 29. Black Friday. In my cart.
Very nice: you spec out all the main features right at the very beginning and ask "How do they do it?" 👍🏻
bought this as my first ever watch thanks to you Jody! also saw pagani design sellers using this video as part of their presentation
