Two years on from this review and I've just got the same one with white dial for the equivalent of £30.69! Pagani and the other Guangzhou watch manufacturers really have opened up a whole new dimension of fun in watch collecting. Thanks for the review, by the way. 👍
Great filming and review that shows the details of the watch up close. I recently bought this and am very impressed with the build, specifications and fit and finish at the price point. Of course it is no Rolex Daytona but It costs less than 1% of what that watch fetches these days without feeling tacky nor cheap. Also the waiting list is not 6 to 10 years. Worthwhile purchase and a thumbs up from me.

I got one of these for $40 just to see what I’d find. Movement is worth the 40 bucks alone. I’m insanely impressed with the overall product. It’s had a fair bit of wrist time… and I have some high end stuff. Something that looks like a Daytona with a quartz movement that requires no maintenance- can’t really beat that.
Just ordered the black dial and bracelet version from AliExpress and looking forward to gaining what appears to be a watch that cuts above all others at this price point. Usually collecting automatic watches but the quality and looks of the 1644 swayed me to buy a quartz for the first time in 20 years. Sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, milled clasp, detailed dial, chronograph with screw down crown and pushers, seiko movement, 361 stainless construction - no contest!
Have this one in my collection and gifted a dear friend the silver faced version. Outstanding piece without a doubt. Great review as always John, can highly recommend this to anyone, such a great homage :)

Ordered this largely on the basis of this review. Arrived a few days ago. Very pleased with the purchase. Hard to imagine more value for this price. Seems comparable to my Seiko SBTR017 at about half the cost.

I got mine 4 years ago for £44, back before Ali Express charged VAT. I would recommend running a screwdriver over the screw links as a couple of them worked loose the 1st week I wore it. Other than that i have zero complaints and still on original battery.
Thank you for another great review. I really wanted to like this Daytona homage: It looks awesome and ticks so many attractive spec checkboxes. But I just can't get over the fact that you have to mostly GUESS the elapsed minutes in that functionally useless subdial with no minute markers. The original Daytona does have the markers, albeit only 30. The Seiko movement has a 60-minute cycle. What was Pagani's problem? Too many markers? With a wee bit of Photoshop, I was able to superimpose the minute markers found in the elapsed minutes subdial of Pagani's own Speedmaster homage (which uses the same Seiko movement), and find out how a proper subdial would look. I learned that where numerals exist, they only blot out a single marker on each side, so you don´t really have to guess. Exactly as it happens in the original Daytona. Pagani isn't actually using the wide-font numerals of the original, so it doesn't matter that we have twice as many minutes in this subdial. This is a barebones chronograph with no hours totalizer: I think that for the measly hour we would be able to time, by adding the markers guesswork would be kept at a minimum, faithfulness to the original would be enhanced (I dare say), and we would get a chrono that is actually usable.
Got one just today. They r really beautiful maid. I got the jubileum brace with it, im in love! Mirror polish is fantastic! And the price 58€ its nothing compared with the detail you get in this price categorie

I've got this watch for some time now and it is still great to look at and to use the meca quartz chronograph movement. The operation of the pushers is like you're operating a full mechanical movement. Only for a fraction of the price.... Even the standard quality clasp and bracelet suits the watch perfectly... I payed just €50. It's a bargin.
Would you please do a review of the Escapement Time quartz dress watch from Aliexpress. All the escapement time watches are assembled by a single person and they are of excellent value and quality. Would love to see better recognition for it. Great review as always XD.
I got the gold plated version and the links are all plated while assembled. The places where the metal touches are all still stainless. No plating at all. The bracelet is also very stiff because the plating is inconsistent between the links. The link screws are also all stuck in the links because of the plating. I stripped the threads off all of the screws and broke one off in the ez link. Total loss on the bracelet. I was not manhandling the thing. I was being as careful as possible to unscrew them. I did contact Pagani and they did charge me $1 to resend me something. I still don't really know what I'll be getting in the mail. We will see if they resolve the issue. The watch itself seems pretty well made. No obvious flaws/concerns.
I bought the gold version with black sub dials. It’s great apart from the logo and text above the dials being misaligned and slightly on the slant. As it’s cheap though, I will get the silver version with black sub dials.
Great review, as ever! Coincidentally, I was wearing my (current version) of the same watch, so I compared it as you went through. Snap, spot on. One tiny difference - there's no clasp extension on mine, so maybe Pagani have dropped it. I fully agree with your assessment - and I'd say it's an absolutely fantastic watch for a very (almost unbelievably) low price. Pagani are going from strength to strength and offer incredible value for money. 😊😊

@@shaundevan1525 I have now one in view, at 46 euro, 33 euro coupon and like another 2 euro off, pd flagship store. Think I am going to bite the bullet.
One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that this watch is pretty much useless as a chronograph, since the small minute dial is divided only in intervals of 5 minutes. The small second hand dial is marked the same way. The small dial on the right has similar problems (marked in 2 hour intervals) and is mainly useful for balancing the other small dials to make a pleasing dial layout. The markings on all of those dials are grey on reflective black and impossible to read without a magnifying glass. So, in summary, it's a pretty watch, but you had better have your phone or a $10 Casio along if you want to measure lap times.
Actually, the sub-dial at 6 is the main second-hand. The big second hand is the chronograph one, and it ticks 4 or 5 times between each second. I actually used it yesterday to time something. The minute ring could do with each minute marked out too, but it is fine as it is.
I own this watch, its a great budget piece. However I had to replace the steel bracelet as it didn't suit me and my model had sharp edges. Instead I wear the watch on a barton rubber strap. I like the watch in general, just not the strap.

I ordered this watch as well , , my only negative about this watch is the case back , , i think all watches should take advantage of showing the internal workings of the watches from the back , , , i wonder if we/me can order clear case backs for watches that don't come with them ? ? ? .

How many links of the bracelet can you remove? I have a small 6 inch wrist and I’m afraid it’s going to be too lose on my wrist. I already have one with a rubber band and it fits perfect on the second-third last hole. I would love to have a metal band as well. Awesome review
I watched your video and bought it in a tiffany blue very nice however i was disappointed with the quality of the second hand needle as when you reset it the seiko movement returns it tonthe 12 p clock positioning so violently that my second hand needle has now got a curve to it😮

I like to swim with watches and baptize those little beasts :) So whats the scoop on the water resistance rating, you mention 100 meters yet Pagani only list 3atm? Have the Chinese lowered the ratings as it seems many are opting for the 3atm even though they are implementing screw down crowns?

The AliExpress reseller listings frequently contain errors in the specification such as 30 metres. A push/pull crown can be water resistant to 100 metres. A screw down crown is typically 200 metres. Why is it so hard to get decent lume on Chinese watches? Does the good lume that Rolex uses come from the moon or something? How hard or expensive can it possibly be to include some lume that truly rivals Rolex lume?

Thank you for watching Hamdoon. The chronograph hand is only meant to run for one hour maximum then stops. You aren't meant to use it continually. The 6 o'clock sub dial has a ticking seconds hands which runs continually. Regards, #WR4K
If I start the sweeping second hand, is there a time limit when it automatically stops/resets, or it will run "forever" until the battery is dead? I dont care if I have to change the battery more frequently, but I would love to run it sweeping all the time without stop. Hi, I bought mine awhile ago and the calendar always goes to 31 days each month so every two months I have to change it which isn’t a huge pain but I still shouldn’t have to do that. Is there a fix you know of?
That’s normal for many watches. I’ve bought many expensive watches that do that and when I wear a watch I’ve not worn in a while I’ll have to change it
You compared it to a Rolex 😂 ive got this watch and a Rolex . They are worlds apart . What this watch is , its a good cheap watch . The bracket feels very cheap but looks good .

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that this watch is pretty much useless as a chronograph, since the small minute dial is divided only in intervals of 5 minutes. The small second hand dial is marked the same way. The small dial on the right has similar problems (marked in 2 hour intervals) and is mainly useful for balancing the other small dials to make a pleasing dial layout. The markings on all of those dials are grey on reflective black and impossible to read without a magnifying glass. So, in summary, it's a pretty watch, but you had better have your phone or a $10 Casio along if you want to measure lap times.
Actually, the sub-dial at 6 is the main second-hand. The big second hand is the chronograph one, and it ticks 4 or 5 times between each second. I actually used it yesterday to time something. The minute ring could do with each minute marked out too, but it is fine as it is.

I own this watch, its a great budget piece. However I had to replace the steel bracelet as it didn't suit me and my model had sharp edges. Instead I wear the watch on a barton rubber strap. I like the watch in general, just not the strap.

How many links of the bracelet can you remove? I have a small 6 inch wrist and I’m afraid it’s going to be too lose on my wrist. I already have one with a rubber band and it fits perfect on the second-third last hole. I would love to have a metal band as well. Awesome review

I watched your video and bought it in a tiffany blue very nice however i was disappointed with the quality of the second hand needle as when you reset it the seiko movement returns it tonthe 12 p clock positioning so violently that my second hand needle has now got a curve to it😮

I like to swim with watches and baptize those little beasts :) So whats the scoop on the water resistance rating, you mention 100 meters yet Pagani only list 3atm? Have the Chinese lowered the ratings as it seems many are opting for the 3atm even though they are implementing screw down crowns?

The AliExpress reseller listings frequently contain errors in the specification such as 30 metres. A push/pull crown can be water resistant to 100 metres. A screw down crown is typically 200 metres. You compared it to a Rolex 😂 ive got this watch and a Rolex . They are worlds apart . What this watch is , its a good cheap watch . The bracket feels very cheap but looks good .
