I can only imagine how many of these jokes go over the heads of people who've never seen the original DBZ. Vegeta not knowing how he could sense energy was so on point.

I don't really get that one. The only Dewgong I know is the pokemon. I don't know if it's a slang for something else too, or if there's any joke about accuracy with that pokemon.

I like that pokemon but one of the pokemons attacks tends to miss half of the time

They finally animated the Marron joke years later, but you are correct. They've already admited that they often foreshadowed jokes and concepts they would go on to use sometimes as much as 6 years later.

Technically, Goku was already brain damaged. He hit his head as a child so badly he not only lost memory but had a drastic personality change. But in regards to stupider... may I remind you : "I thought you were surrounded by gumdrops and ice cream."

Dodoria being a woman was a brilliant decision. It creates a perfect parallel between Freeza, Zarbon and Dodoria. Dodoria looks like a monster to us, but to her people she was a supermodel. Zarbon looks hot but when he powers up he becomes bestial. Freeza alternates between androgynous, masculine and weird, and then combines them in his final form in what I think is one of the best designs ever.
