    Nice review.
    One day after your review there was an update released which allowed to use the Jabra evolve2 85 wired. Is there a possibility to test if the mic quality improved and how it stacks up to the evolve 40 now?

    I have been using my Evolve2 85 headphones for a few months and have had WAY better experience than what your video is showing. I can talk on a meeting through a toilet flush and no one hears it. I can also wash dishes, and they hear nothing. Did you try updating the firmware on your headset?

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for leaving a comment. Yes indeed it was at the latest firmware at the time of the video. Only thing I can think of is that the noisy tests that I did were quite loud (and I maintained the same level of loudness across all other headphones I tested), perhaps your background noises were not as loud?

    • @briankronberg
      @briankronberg 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RawansReviews I did non-scientific, but quality tests with people on the other end of a Teams and WebEx call. None could hear me flush the toilet or wash my hands in a loud sink in a completely quiet home. To me those are the real world tests for a work-at-home user.

    Great content and awesome, nerdy detailed test Parcours for these headsets, thumbs up! That said, I tried to only listen and not look at the video while your mouth was covered by the huge microphone otherwise it felt totally awkward.

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment, and glad you liked the content. Completely agree regarding the huge mic blocking my mouth. That’s why I completely changed my set up, and in all my recent videos, the mic is completely out of frame and can’t be seen in the shot ;) Cheers! Rawan

    I'm curious if Evolve 2 85 is more comfortable to you than Evolve 40?

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say probably not. The Evolve 40 is also much lighter, so that surely contributes to comfort.

      @@RawansReviews Thank you for a swift reply! The thing is - I bought Evolve2 65, and I love them, but my ears are getting to hot after an hour of use. So I'm thinking if I should try Evolve2 85 or another headset. Curious if it can solve the issue.

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IgorAntarov I haven't tried the Evolve2 65, so I can't judge--but I have a feeling the Evolve2 85 would not be that different. Best would be if you can try it on before purchase, or purchase from somewhere with flexible return policy. Good luck!

    Nice video. I’m working from home still test driving Evolve2 85 380c. I’m impressed with the many advertised features so far however the red busy-light doesn’t work on my Dell PC windows 64 bit w/ Teams and Fuze. It works on my iPhone calls but not on my PC. 🤷🏾‍♂️

      Thanks for your comment. Have you installed the Jabra client software (Jabra Direct?) There's a toggle there in the headphones settings to enable or disable the busy light, could that be it?

    The newer Jabra headsets seem to make the users voice sound over compressed to filter out the background noise. The older Jabra Evolve 40 seemed clearer and didn't sound over compressed as on the newer model. It seems the newer model uses a lot of processing to filter out the background noise over the older version. Just my observation as I also know TH-cam videos use compression also. I do like Jabra stuff though they are very good. Great review :)

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment! I also think a wired USB connection might also contribute to better audio than Bluetooth. But you are completely right, the Evolve 40 does sound clearer and better! The price we must pay for wireless freedom is guess!

    I have the jabra evolve2 85 as i need a over ear work headset, but its too expensive and when youre primary objective is to get headphones for calling in your work this is not better than Jabra evolve2 65. Even have 2 options with the 65`s as a new design recently came out. The mic on the 85 just is really bad..

    The call quality for my AirPods Pro doesn’t sound that bad as he makes it seem. I honestly wouldn’t trust him with call quality tests..... I don’t know why for him it sounded so bad because the call quality on the AirPods Pro is honestly the BEST I have ever had. I was thinking of getting the Jabra evolve 2 85 for my brother and this video makes me not want to get these headphones. But I have seen other reviews of the call quality with these headphones and they are always good. So I’m confused why his call quality test for both headphones and earphones where so bad.... based on what other reviews have said on these headphones and how they are good I trust their input more.

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ines. Thanks for your feedback! I'm not sure why you've seen the call quality to be very bad in both headphones and AirPods. The AirPods Pro indeed have one of the better call quality of any earbuds--and I would say the quality recorded in the video was pretty great, with the exception of the small "glitch" in the sound breaking in 2 instances, which probably is because of the Bluetooth connection. I decided to keep it in the review because, in the real world, this happens too. But beyond that, in my opinion, the sound quality was loud, clear, and great, and impressive even in a noisy environment. Same for the Evolve2 85, though I feel the voice picked up with the AirPods sound a bit more natural than with the Jabra's boom mic. Still, the Jabra's boom mic gives you versatility that is not yet offered with any other wireless headphones. Hope the clarification helps! Cheers, Rawan

    Are you able to hear yourself from the headphone? (Like a recording feedback monitor headphone) my problem with this headphone is it’s very hard to hear yourself, so for others next to me, I sound very loud

    • @RawansReviews

      Yes there's a setting called Sidetone which you can adjust so you can hear yourself during a call.

    Thanks for the review. I thought the Evolve 40 sounded slightly better. The evolve 2 85 is a great all-rounder. Great for calls, music and noise cancelling. But ive yet to know which headset has the best microphone voice quality in a quiet environment. I believe the bose 700 comes close to the evolve 85.

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment Simon. Indeed the Evolve 40 did sound slightly better to my ears as well, probably the benefit of a using a wired USB connection over Bluetooth. To be honest, I expected a little bit better from the boom mic of the Evolve2 85, but as you say, it remains a pretty good all-rounder. You are absolutely right in that the Bose 700 comes close (and possibly exceeds) the Evolve2 85. I actually have that headset coming in tomorrow. Can't wait to run some comparison tests on both. Will also make a video comparing both head-to-head, in both a quiet and noisy environment as well. Anything specific you'd like to see in that video? ;) Cheers, Rawan

    • @simon_carroll
      @simon_carroll 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RawansReviews Thanks Rawan the Jabra Evolve 2 85 matched with the Bose 700 will be a great comparison am sure. I believe the mic quality will be slightly better on the 85(with the boom) but the noise cancelling is better on the bose 700. But in terms of multifunction for calls and music both are similar. But does a gaming headset like the cooler master mh630 or the logitech g433 actually have a better microphone for calls. You mentioned the apple airpods had better sound quality. So many factors when buying a headset. Thanks again for your review.

      @@paulaitken280 Hi Paul. I have the Jabra Evolve 2 85. Its a great all-rounder. Great for calls and listening to music. You can buy the uc or teams variant. The bose is a very similar all-rounder. The bose is slightey better for nose cancelling. Has 10 levels. The jabra has the added benefit of the boom mic useful if you need to whisper. Some people say the voice quality is slightly better on the jabra 40 and 65. Difference very marginal not worth mentioning. If your not worried about music just for calls and a uc communication could try jabra evolve2 65!

      Interesting. Not sure why. Maybe the firmware at the time? Or maybe others might have boosted the sample in post prod? Not sure either..!
