This is one of the BEST real world tests I've seen. Consistently loud and uncontrollable environment comparing multiple headsets. I bought the EPOS impact 1061 ANC after seeing this. Keep the content coming!

Excellent testing! Testing in live environments gives more accurate results than playing office sounds and barking dogs from a speaker. Thank you! I was surprised how poorly the Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex performed. I recently purchased that model and now will be considering other models. The Epos Impact 1000 sounded great. 5200 sounded OK (I have a 5200 and it is the best option outdoors in wind). JPL Element, Poly Voyager Focus 2 and Jabra Engage 55 sounded good.
Yes! Testing in live environments is always the best! We'll be doing another video featuring corded USB headsets. Scouting locations here in on the Space Coast of Florida. The EPOS Impact 1000 has been the top performer however, I do like the Evolve2 65 Flex for comfort and small form factor for portability. I'll be creating a video discussing and showing the various headset carry bags and cases. No one talks about them much, but if you are traveling or in a hybrid work environment where you transport your gear between locations, how your headsets are packed, stored and protected become a little more important. I'm glad I bought Yealink BH72, I was thinking of buying Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex but after watching this amazing review I now feel contented of what I bought :)
Does the poly voyager 2 require software installed to run correctly? Only asking as I cannot install 3rd party software on pc 😢 In other words can all the noise cancelling functions work without the software being installed on my work laptop. Also great videos, thank you
I cannot tell you how pleased I am to have found this video. Way more useful of a test than sitting next to a blender or playing recordings of a crying baby on a speaker in an office.
Thank you! The goal is to test in more real world environments! Here are more headsets tested in a coffee shop! th-cam.com/video/B9XqgZqv330/w-d-xo.html

I have adhd and work in a call center doing high-end sales. I need to focus but become easily over-stimulated and extremely anxious due to other callers around me. The voyager focus is my savior. Not only does it block quite a bit of noise but also the Bluetooth allows me to walk away from my desk, if necessary, for even more distraction elimination.
Hi Miss Mia! I love hearing actual end-users sharing their experiences! Thank you so much for sharing your insights on the Poly Voyager Focus! It's a great headset solution that includes ANC (Active Noise Canceling) speakers, a solid noise canceling mic, long battery life and is very comfortable!

Wow, really great review. I have been using the Poly Voyager 5200 UC for years. I checked my purchase history and I think I have gone through over a dozen throughout the years (I just wesr them out :) based on this I am gonna keep going down that path with what works. Thanks for such a great review.
Wow EPOS and Jabra Engage 55 was impressive! Glad the Yealink BH72's mic worked well. Also as a Shokz OpenComms2 UC user, mic might be good but it's unusable in a cafe.... way too noisy to hear other people :D That's when I use my Yealink BH72
Incredible review of anc mics! I've only recently learned there's a difference between anc ear and mics. I specifically need a headset that cancels all background noise. This was awesome. Would have loved to see apple air pods pro in this
Thank you so much for watching and supporting our channel! And yes! Next time I’ll include the Apple AirPods Pro. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is the technology used in the headset speakers to help the wearer suppress background noise. There are three different ANC technologies: ANC, Hybrid ANC and Adaptive ANC. I may write a blog or create a video explaining the differences. Noise Canceling (NC) is the technology used in the headset microphone to help suppress background noise your callers hear.
Excellent review again Danny. #1, EPOS impact 1000 for me. it completely removed noise and sounds fuller. it sounds like wired or USB mic :) #2. Jabra engage 55 and JPL. removed the noise cleanly. #3. Jabra 65 flex and Poly focus 2. On EPOS impact 1000, wondering if there's a review on it outside on a windy condition. I recall Danny has done this at the rooftop of his office for Poly focus 2. maybe another one for epos impact ? :)
I thought I replied but I don't see it! Here's a TH-cam Shorts with the EPOS Impact 1000 at a Rest Area where there was traffic background noise and it was fairly windy. th-cam.com/users/shortsXEpRBTAP0WM
Thank you so much! And YES! Next month I start another work from anywhere tour and will be testing a new batch of headsets from a coffee shop! Stay tuned!
How is it hearing other people in a noisy environment? He tested the mic but is there noise cancellation so you can hear people in a noisy environment as well?
What a great review! Dear Danny, could you please advise wireless headsets with ANC and NC on mic model specifically for remote simultaneous interpreting, mainly on Zoom, Teams? Simultaneous interpreters literally listen and speak at the same time, that's why I would appreciate it if you could advise a row of wireless headsets of your preferrence with decent ANC and decent noice cancelling mic combined in a single model.
Hi Marat Jiyenbaev! Thanks for watching and your question. Based on the models I shared in this video, I would select the EPOS Impact 1000 Series model that includes ANC speakers. I recently shared a blog that includes a matrix of the various EPOS Impact 1000 Series. calloneinc.com/discovering-the-epos-impact-1000-series-the-best-noise-canceling-mic-in-business-headsets/
Can you please add Orosound Tilde Pro in a future video or better still do an EPOS impact 1000 vs Orosound Tilde Pro comparison? I just discovered Orosound Tilde pro today and I leaning towards it already. However, the EPOS impact 1000 did an amazing job!
@@CallOneIncThanks for your replies. I just thought I should let you know that I bought the EPOS impact 1061 and no complaints so far after almost a month of use. All thanks to this video.
Thanks for this amazing real world comparison! Really helpful! I often hear the term "Active Noise Cancelling" but I'm never sure if it means the microphone NC or the headphone NC... Is there a different naming for both of these for headsets? And it would be greatly beneficial to also always hear about how much you can / cannot hear your surroundings when wearing each headset (microphone + headphone NC each), for I would like to find out which one of the headsets has great ANC for both mic and headphones. 😊 All the best! 🍀
Hi Tobimaru! Great question, I wrote in 2019 however, I should update it. calloneinc.com/whats-the-difference-between-anc-and-nc/ - ANC or Active Noise Cancelling is a technology used to help suppress background noise in the headset speakers. - NC or Noise Canceling is used to describe the technology used to help suppress background noise in the microphone. Microphones in headsets are available in omnidirectional, noise-canceling (NC) or ultra-noise-canceling (UNC) In this comparison video, I am testing the headset microphones' Noise Canceling (NC) performance. I have tested multiple headsets/headphones with ANC speakers, including Bose, Sony, Apple, Bang & Olufsen, Jabra, HP Poly, Logitech, Yealink, EPOS, and more. To date, none have been able to block 100% of background noise. While they can significantly reduce background noise, completely blocking out 100% of all sounds is not technically feasible. Modern ANC headphones can substantially reduce background noise, providing a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching and supporting our channel!
This is exactly what I have needed! It is so hard to get an idea of how much sound is blocked while still allowing the mic to be clear. I am going to try the Poly Voyager 5200. Have you tried any with the removable mic?
Hi Tara, are you referring to boomless mic headsets like the Poly Voyager Surround 80 or EPOS Adapt 660 or headset like the Orosound Tilde Pro with removable mic boom?
What's up, BronZe Banana! Thanks so much for sharing your feedback! I agree, the EPOS Impact 1000 has performed well across multiple environments. Appreciate you watching and supporting our channel!
About the Poly Voyager 2: The Poly software is very wonky and often causes Windows to not be able to use the device after sleeping for a while, and to recover functionality you have to force it to close from task manager (I have tested this in two computers). Having it closed means you lose some functionality. Also, the frame is VERY FRAGILE for such an expensive headset. Other than that, it has great microphone noise cancelling, decent ANC, and with the dongle you have a huge range of movement. I have easily moved 12-14 mts away from my computer while not losing audio quality.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Poly Voyager Focus 2, Donlvar! This type of information is beneficial for our viewers! Appreciate you supporting our channel

I returned the Opencomm 2. It would disconnect from my Teams meeting & play a ridiculously loud sound in my ear. To stop, I had to toggle between a different speaker & the headset which was annoying. The comfort was great. The bone conduction feature was awesome. But I couldn't get past the disconnection issue.

@@CallOneIncI don't have a particular wired headset in mind. I just think it should be interesting to have the same video for people who don't necessarily care for a bluetooth headset since it tends to be more expensive. Great question! The challenge with this request is that what I hear through the speakers may differ from what others hear due to multiple factors. However, I have attempted to showcase this in the past, including this video: How well do the ANC Speakers perform on Yealink BH76? th-cam.com/video/fXEnIn9b7_A/w-d-xo.html On my list of videos to film is taking this setup into a coffee shop, airport terminal, hotel lobby, and other common remote working spaces to test the ANC speaker's performance. Based on my tests, they all perform pretty comparable. The headphones designed specifically for ANC, like Sony and Bose, perform better, but you can still hear voices if you are not streaming audio. Here’s a blog I wrote recently on this subject: calloneinc.com/understanding-anc-technology-in-professional-grade-headsets-jabra-poly-yealink-epos-and-logitech/ Thanks for watching and supporting our channel!
The EPOS Impact 1000 has a "better" noise canceling mic. Some EPOS 1000 models also have ANC speakers where the Poly Blackwire 3200 series do not. The EPOS Impact 1000 is wireless while the Blackwire 3200 is corded.

Just to confirm, none of these are relying on software like Zoom? I have the Poly C5520 and while using Zoom nothing breaks through and I mean nothing, but when I dial out using our dialing system (no noise suppression software built into that system) it seems like every background noise is heard. Anyone using Zoom and struggling must be sitting in a warzone. I believe most people's issue comes from systems that don't offer noise suppression built in and needing a headset with supreme capabilities
For this video, am using Windows 10 Camera App to record audio and video. Platforms and applications like Zoom and Microsoft Teams have a level a Noise Suppression enabled that helps to suppress background noise. I've created videos showcasing this. Hi Cindy, the best noise canceling mic I've tested is the EPOS Impact 1000 Series. They also have new EPOS Impact 700 and 800 Corded Series that have similar mic. And these are Teams Certified devices.
Based on my tests, no headset ANC speakers or NC microphones block or suppress 100% of a baby crying. The EPOS Impact 1000 Series has the best performing mic I've tested and it did not suppress 100% of a baby crying in this video: th-cam.com/video/YaPuE5yDXyU/w-d-xo.html (Go to 6:37) ANC (Active Noise Canceling) does a great job of suppressing low frequency noise however, it will not block 100%. It will reduce the noise you hear by 20-40 decibels. A crying baby can reach 99-120 decibels (Extremely loud). A solid performing NC (Noise Canceling) microphone plus AI Noise Suppression available in UC platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet can help suppress background noise even further. Hi Roger, what do you mean by over-the-ear? Some folks say over the ear when referring to over the ear hook style like a Poly Voyager 5200 www.calloneonline.com/Poly-Voyager-5200-UC-with-Charging-Case and some mean over-the-ear like circumaural style that envelopes your ears like the Poly Voyager Surround 80 UC www.calloneonline.com/HP-Poly-Surround-80-UC. Let me know and I can share my thoughts based on my tests or I can create a video if I haven't already.
@@CallOneInc I have the same issue and over the ear to me is the circumaural style. This was a great video, but none of the tested headsets were the circumaural over the ear. Have you done any mic tests/videos for this style?

So if you have to have a wired headset but need to share a small space and you arent allowed to have noise in the background which is the best option. Nearly all work from home companies require everything to be wired.
Hi Theresa! Apologies for delayed response. We hosted an event in our Customer Experience Center so I've been tied up the last couple of days. This is tough. No headset mic blocks 100% of background noise. If you use a headset with a good noise canceling mic along with Noise Suppression features available from most UC platforms, it does a pretty good job. Barking dogs and screaming children are still tough. Check out this video where I test CORDED USB headsets in a noisy coffee shop. th-cam.com/video/B9XqgZqv330/w-d-xo.html
It depends on the desk phone. Some of these models are compatible with select desk phones that support USB. If not, Jabra and HP Poly headsets have devices that allow you to connect these headsets to select desk phones. These headsets are UC Bluetooth headsets designed for computer and mobile use. There are purpose built headsets for desk phones. Again, it's dependent on the desk phone brand and model.
I haven't tested the XM5's but I test the XM4's and I had challenges when paired to my laptop to make/take audio calls and join meetings via Teams, Zoom, 8x8, etc. Here's a video I did th-cam.com/video/_Dk5wmX1zw0/w-d-xo.html The mic transmit performance was not as good compared to business-grade solutions that are certified for leading UC platforms and applications. However, I'm just one person. Perhaps others had a different experience.
Thanks so much for sharing your detailed feedback and rankings! It's always insightful to see how each headset performs in real-world conditions from a viewer's perspective. It sounds like the EPOS Impact 1000 and Jabra Engage 55 scored well for you, especially given that some models lacked wind protection. I’ll keep your input in mind for future tests, and I'm always looking for ways to provide a fair representation of each device's strengths and areas for improvement. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to cover or test in the next video, feel free to let me know-I'm here to help you make informed choices!
@@CallOneInc yes but if they had wind mufflers that'd boost the rating because many people will be using these outside, e.g. while walking. Which EPOS 1000 headphone model did you use? They come in many different versions with and without ANC and in different model numbers...
@ yes, thanks for pointing that out. I actually wrote a blog that includes a matrix of the different EPOS Impact 1000 models. calloneinc.com/discovering-the-epos-impact-1000-series-the-best-noise-canceling-mic-in-business-headsets/ For this particular video, I have the EPOS Impact 1061T ANC
Thanks for very helpful great reviews. I think I like the EPOS Impact 1000, JPL Element BT-500D, Poly Voyager Focus 2, and Jabra Engage 55. Seeing the prices, I think Poly Voyager Focus 2 wins 😄
Hi Albert, thanks for sharing your feedback. Appreciate it. The Poly Voyager Focus 2 and Jabra Evolve 75 SE are in the same category of UC Bluetooth headsets that support connectivity to computer and mobile phone and are compatible/certified for all major UC platforms and applications. The Jabra Engage 75 is a DECT Wireless headset designed to support connectivity to a desk phone, computer, and mobile devices. So my answer would be it depends on what my connectivity needs are. I primarily use a computer and mobile so I would have to pick between the Evolve 75 SE and Poly Voyager Focus 2. While both are great headsets, the Voyager Focus 2 is newer so I would pick it. Hope this helps.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is the technology used in the headset speakers to help the wearer suppress background noise. There are three different ANC technologies: ANC, Hybrid ANC and Adaptive ANC. I may write a blog or create a video explaining the differences.

Simultaneous interpreters literally listen and speak at the same time, that's why I would appreciate it if you could advise a row of wireless headsets of your preferrence with decent ANC and decent noice cancelling mic combined in a single model.

All the best! 🍀
Hi Tobimaru! Great question, I wrote in 2019 however, I should update it. calloneinc.com/whats-the-difference-between-anc-and-nc/
- ANC or Active Noise Cancelling is a technology used to help suppress background noise in the headset speakers.
- NC or Noise Canceling is used to describe the technology used to help suppress background noise in the microphone. Microphones in headsets are available in omnidirectional, noise-canceling (NC) or ultra-noise-canceling (UNC)
In this comparison video, I am testing the headset microphones' Noise Canceling (NC) performance.
@@CallOneInc many thanks for the clarification! 😊👍🏻

On my list of videos to film is taking this setup into a coffee shop, airport terminal, hotel lobby, and other common remote working spaces to test the ANC speaker's performance.
Based on my tests, they all perform pretty comparable. The headphones designed specifically for ANC, like Sony and Bose, perform better, but you can still hear voices if you are not streaming audio. Here’s a blog I wrote recently on this subject: calloneinc.com/understanding-anc-technology-in-professional-grade-headsets-jabra-poly-yealink-epos-and-logitech/

EPOS 1000 vs POLY C3200 , which is better?
The EPOS Impact 1000 has a "better" noise canceling mic. Some EPOS 1000 models also have ANC speakers where the Poly Blackwire 3200 series do not. The EPOS Impact 1000 is wireless while the Blackwire 3200 is corded.

how did you get the poly focus 2 to noise cancel on the microphone? We tested it with a vacuum running in the background and you can still hear it. Even hear me typing.
I don't do anything special except ensure Poly Lens software and headset/dongle firmware is up to date. To record, I use Windows 11 Camera app and select the various headsets/dongles as my audio input/output source via Sound Settings. And that's it. Moving forward, I will also share Microsoft Teams and Zoom meeting recordings so you can hear if Teams Voice Isolation and Zoom Personalized Audio Isolation impact mic performance. Hi JRPLAWOffice! I would like to understand your use case better. The challenge with bone conduction headsets is in noisy environments, the headset wearer has a hard time hearing the audio unless they wear earplugs. Please share your use case, including environment.
@CallOneInc Thank you for your response. @@alinav9403 for this specific video, the last headset is the Jabra Engage 55 - USB-C UC Stereo (Jabra Part# 9559-430-125)
Here's an example th-cam.com/video/Qbi1800L7ic/w-d-xo.html

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best noise cancellation headsets for working from home that is compatible with TEAMs??
Hi Cindy, the best noise canceling mic I've tested is the EPOS Impact 1000 Series. They also have new EPOS Impact 700 and 800 Corded Series that have similar mic. And these are Teams Certified devices.
What headphones cancel babe noise or babe crying for working from home .i don’t know if i should get the poly or the zone 950?
Based on my tests, no headset ANC speakers or NC microphones block or suppress 100% of a baby crying. The EPOS Impact 1000 Series has the best performing mic I've tested and it did not suppress 100% of a baby crying in this video: th-cam.com/video/YaPuE5yDXyU/w-d-xo.html (Go to 6:37)
ANC (Active Noise Canceling) does a great job of suppressing low frequency noise however, it will not block 100%.
I recently tested the NEW low cost Logitech Zone 305 headset with Microsoft Teams Voice Isolation th-cam.com/video/YfKjMUGwA_o/w-d-xo.html
I"ve also performed tests using Zoom Personalized audio isolation with multiple headsets and person talking next to me: th-cam.com/video/ZWZ1WmShns8/w-d-xo.html

Are all these headsets compatible for desk phones? 👀
You're doing God's work. Thanks so much!
I truly appreciate your support, Judith! Such kind words! Stay tuned for a new video coming from the same coffee shop with a new batch of headsets!

Poly Focus 2
Jabra evolve 75 SE
