    What a great comparison. The mic on the Jabra sounds better than the one in the Poly. The Jabra feels richer, fuller, with more bass, the Poly isn't terrible but sounds more metallic. I agree with a previous comment that it is important to compare when the same person is speaking as the pitch of the voice can be very different between the two.
    Another big plus from me for the Jabra is that the Poly is using the very old micro-USB, one of the worst connectors made in history. I have a Poly Focus UC that has this connector and you always have to be looking closely in witch way you have to plug the loading cable, USB-C is a dream to use on the contrary.
    You two make a great team on video, keep the good work on!

    I had to return the Evolve2 45 as I felt uncomfortable wearing it more than 30 minutes top, too much pressure around the ears due to me wearing prescription glasses. Would the Evolve2 75 or the Poly have the same issue for spectacles users?

      It's a hard question to fully answer because we have many customers who use both headsets with glasses and say they're comfortable. Others that do wear glasses say the opposite, but I'd say more customers then not find eithe the Evolve2 75 of Focus 2 UC to be comfortable with glasses.
      Another model to consider that could be more comfortable for you which doesn't rest on or in your ears is here th-cam.com/video/LRmTMpZVoVc/w-d-xo.html

    I'm glad you highlighted the links in the description. I was thinking at the beginning that you should have affiliate links and forgot about it until you mentioned it at the end. I thought from the previous video that the voyager 2 was going to be the clear winner and that the poor quality would no longer be an issue. After watching, it seems like the evolve2 75 improved their mic and the voyager 2 now sounds more processed. Not as bad or robotic as the previous evolve review I watched, but still a bit too tinny sounding. The only things that still win for me on the voyager 2 are the listening time, range, and weight/comfort. Hopefully the range is good enough for what I need on the jabra and I think it will still last plenty long enough to not be a concern. I also like that you mentioned the jabra is still comfortable and honestly, I think it's still going to be better than the steel series gaming headset I'm currently using for work. Thanks for taking the time to make this review and I'll definitely be ordering through your link to show my support.

    Thanks for the comparison. What about long term? I have a evolve 75 and after a year I have repaired the mic twice! Raising and lowering the microphone wears down the cable and breaks it. It is a situation that many complained about in that model. What about this new one?

    I bought Jabra Evolve2 75 in March 2022. Believe me, the mic fails to work after a few months. The first claim was in May, and the 2nd claim was in Oct, each of which Jabra gave me a new replacement. I'm thinking about selling it or keep using and probably need to claim it again if the mic fails again.

      @@HeadsetAdvisor Following up a few months on to say that it's not a firmware issue, but a full on hardware failure.

    • @Mickemukk
      @Mickemukk 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@HeadsetAdvisor the problem is the same today. It's not a SW issue but a HW issue. It's just built wrong and the cables inside can't cope. I have had THREE Evolve2 75 through my work and all had failin mics after 1-2 months. Also, when the mic worked it's clipping my voice, maybe it's just my voice but it does. And even worse when sitting with a wall to my left, because the ANC mic is also baldy designer so it makes the voice clipping even worse. I have seen thousands of posts in different forums about people having the same issues about the mic failing/being randomly working. Waiting for a Poly Focus V2 now from my employer.

    I've had the Bose NC700 and the Sony XM4's but for phone calls I have not found anything that rivals the Jabra Evolve 75. It is old school looking though (not in a good way) so I have been waiting for the upgrade. I didn't like the reviews of the Evolve2 85 and I'm glad I waited. I have ordered the JE2-75. The JE-75 was a bit glitchy in the connections so hopefully the upgrade has that fixed. I really appreciate this channel.

    Bias Alert: I just purchased the Poly Focus 2
    I watched the "Mic Test" section quite a few times to come to my conclusion.
    My biggest need is to have a headset that blocks out noise through the mic and from my perspective the Focus 2 wins.
    The ANC is important too and it makes sense that the Jabra would win due to more material at the ear. Also I agree that the Jabra mic voice quality seemed better to me. So I understand the conclusion of the participants... but to me, that's not as important as what the mic itself can cancel.
    I've been in over-the-phone sales for about 20 year and from my perspective its the noise the person talking to me hears that can win and/or lose a sale. It's a little embarrassing to me when the person I'm talking to says something like... Quote "it sounds like your in a big call center" or they over hear another sales person through my mic in the background offering a discount or applying more sales pressure to the person on their call. Minimizing what is heard through my mic helps me stay in control of my sales conversations.
    The caller won't notice a difference in how your voice sounds vs a different type of mic... rather your going to sound great to the caller and especially since you're using an awesome Focus 2. In addition, the caller is not influenced by ANC cancellation. ANC cancellation only benefits the headset user.
    In conclusion, the ideal headset for me would be the Poly Focus 2 noise cancelling mic combined with speakers that would totally cup the ear. I also have the Plantronics SHR2083-01 that cups the ear but wish it would have the Focus 2 noise cancelling capabilities and side tone.
    Note to this channel: I think that side tone can help with how you sound over the phone too. A video addressing side tone on various headsets would be good too. The ANC can make some users talk awkwardly loud and hold some word or letter sounds longer than normal.

      I totally agree. Poly Focus 2 is the better option here since mic call quality is the most crucial in all criteria. I am not sure why others keep on saying Jabra has better mic when it sounds a bit muffled and under the water. Whereas the Voyager Focus 2 sounds a bit natural.

    Hey guys...love what you're doing here! Looking for a new headset for professional use and travel... i AM the quintessential road warrior... like 210 Hilton stays in 2021 kind of life style. While i absolutely appreciate you rolling your baby bro into the reviews i feel that i should inform you that your bro has a voice range that leans to the mids and highs while your voice leans mids and low range. I mention this because during the readings there are several moments that result in what i can only describe as microphone clipping on the Voyager. This leads me to wonder whether or not the jabra would do the same simply due to the more dominant higher frequencies in your brother's voice. Future rec: do the exact same format but both read through EACH headset thus giving the viewers a sample of both of your voice profiles in each device test :) THANK YOU BOTH for doing this kind of thing. The further into this meta we get, the more valuable your work will become! 👍

    Can you tell us something about sidetone quality/loudness? Has it improved / has a wider volume range on the Jabra evolve2 75 vs the evolve 75 and vs the poly ? Thx
    P.S.: Could you maybe do a special episode sometime especially on the sidetone feature in general? I don't understand why this feature is so "underdeveloped" (on the few headsets offering that feature). From early radio moderators on hearing your own voice "amplified" and precise also increases your clarity of speaking due to the immediate feedback and your brain adapting to that. ANC makes this feature even more important, as you hear your own voice very muted and without details unless you monitor it through the headphones. Wireless headsets make latency free monitoring via the computer impossible, so the only way to do it is inside the headset itself. But all sidetone levels offered on different headsets limit this feature to extremely low volumes - every radio host or podcaster would mix the sidetone much higher into his headphone. Maybe the argument is that wireless headphones use much lower quality microphones than used in the setups described above, but even then hearing your voice as it is transmitted to your listeners helps your brain adapt to that "voice" and speak clearly in that voice. Everyone who has experimented with voice transformers knows this effect of hearing your own alternated voice in real time creates a feedback to the way you speak... Again, I would love an episode on that topic.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Oliver, within the app you're able to choose 5 levels of the mic sidetone and when we had it on, it was a noticeable difference from 1 to 5. It's hard to tell you for certain if that would work for you or be an imvprovement but it did the job great from our testing. Also, that's a very good video idea about sidetone we will look into creating!

      @@HeadsetAdvisor Ive been using them for about a week now as a WFH and I have some thoughts. Feel free to use my two cents.
      I used the headset for Avaya One X Agent and overall it's a decent headset and feels very comfortable. The headset has an amazing noise cancelling mic as expected. I've also used the headset without Poly Lens and it works out of the box without the software.
      My biggest worry was that it would continually promt that the mic is muted. This doesn't do that which is nice and makes this a keeper for me.
      Also my work allowed me to install poly lens as most of it use the Voyager series and they have it as an approved app. Great news!
      My biggest issues: the mic mute isn't a physical mute but software controlled. Sort of a deal breaker, so when on a call I can mute but once the call ends it unmutes so the next call will start unmuted. I've countered this by pulling the headset up, which should mute it but it doesn't as it's software controlled and since there is no call, it will just beep but not mute. Thankfully because of how strong the noise cancelling is, it does make it where nobody can hear me. It's hard to explain but this workaround sort of works. And as a glasses wearer, when flipping the headset down, it smacks my glasses every other time :(. Another thing is the latency. I have it setup to ring to let me know when a call comes in, sometimes it rings other times it doesn't. Doesn't bother me because Avaya will jump to the front of the desktop once a call comes through but it is something that I've experienced while using it.
      Overall it's perfect for my use, but I do wish more companies would make headsets with physical mute and not controlled by software.
      The new Audio Technica M50xSTS is now on my radar however. That looks like it could be a game changer! Maybe you guys can consider looking into it!

      We never want to be biased and sometimes choosing a winner is hard. Especially in the case where they’re so similar but in this case all things considered we do think the Evolve2 75 was best all things considered.

    I have used both headsets, if you work requires headsets to make calls or meetings, make sure to use the cable that connects to your laptop because if not you will get a delay each time someone answer the call 1-2 seconds, the jabra is quite heavy the poly is light and durable.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing! If the slight delay isn't ideal, you could try connecting the headset to your computer via Bluetooth instead of the USB Dongle to see if you don't have this delay.

    Great job guys. Could you please suggest me a headset for the following situation? Small office. 600 Square feet. Team members sitting next to each other all talking simultaneously on Google Meet/ Calls. Using Neep as AI noise cancellation. Range is not a problem. Would really appreciate it. TIA.

      Hi Noe. The Jabra Evolve2 75 should work fine on that because it's a computer based Softphone. You may not get remote call answering, but you should be able to use this headset with the Zoiper5 Softphone.

    Poly Voyager Focus 2 have MAJOR issue with Windows, they are using MONO audio once you are using the mic(this comes from limitation of the Windows HD audio bluetooth driver, and the fact that they went for Bluetooth dongle instead of 2.4ghz as it should be in any modern headphones)

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is unfortunately how it works for all headsets we've tested. Unless you get your own pair of headphones plus a microphone like the Modmic, which will give you stereo sound in both the headphones and mic. Reference the Modmic video here th-cam.com/video/Tut1KDa_S3M/w-d-xo.html

    I just bought jabra following this video and it's not really worth it... It's uncomfortable compared to barracuda x (3 times cheaper) the microphone quality is lousy.
    I am a teacher and my students complained to me because the sound is very low (In the system properties I raised it to the maximum) and my mac microphone sounds much better.
    It's uncomfortable because if you spend many hours using it, your head can hurt.
    Maybe the sound cancellation is the only thing I could say is the best, but don't spend your money on this crap, it's not worth it...

    Evolve 2 75 are badly built. Mic stops working totally or randomly after 1-3 months. It's not a SW issue but a HW issue. It's just built wrong and the cables inside the mic can't cope. I have had THREE Evolve2 75 through my work and all had failing mics after 1-2 months. Waiting for a Poly Focus V2 now from my employer.

    sounds like different Bluetooth profiles are used in both tests at 06:54
    Poly uses HFP 1.6 and Jabra HFP 1.7
    The last one gives a huge benefit in microphone's sound band
