They could read, play video games, or watch TH-cam with their headphones in for all I care, just as long as they let me sleep for as long as I need to. Okay your girlfriend's apartment sounds awesome! I love the sound of the bathroom. My office which I share with my husband has a wall of butterflies and moths as well as a bookcase I use to display animal skulls and some small taxidermy pieces, and our living room has Fandom stuff in it along with several bookcases overflowing. It's a mash of pokemon, WWE, Adamms family and any room you look in has something nightmare before christmas related. It brings me joy and we have people over all the time.

I can't imagine being a contractor and trying to do the same thing to people when you're not making that much money by screwing them over when you could easily be making more money by doing your job properly the first time. I grew up with my adopted Grandpa and his sons having their own construction company and they did all the work themselves except for plumbing because they didn't have a plumber in the family. They just said basic instruction roofers and electricians in the family. They always get the job done quickly and properly and never screwed anyone over. I broke up with an ex because of this. He judged me for how I was living. Thing is, HE wanted to host a work gathering at MY place, and yet wanted me to “put away a bunch of stuff” in my apartment. I told him off and broke up with him after he called my tastes “strange and juvenile”.

Story 1: My Parents had a pool put in awhile back and there were so many delays with the pool because the company my Parents chose kept making excuses why they kept delaying the work. My Mom literally had to micromanage the whole thing to make sure everything was done the way her and my dad wanted it. The first thing the company did was knock out the retaining wall before digging the pool. The company had no plans to rebuild the retaining wall. Story 2: I lived in japan for almost a decade. There are cases of self entitled people. It's usually mothers of young children and men over 45. Mothers are rare in Japan so it is very rare to find a situation unless you are in areas where there are lots of children which is away from where most tourists go. The 45+ Y.O. entitled men are more common and they are not affraid to step on you, shove you or hit you in the train especially if you are female in your early 20s. But the most entitled part is that they have the audacity to treat you like a child and scold you when it is not your fault so aside from entitlement they are gaslighters.

Story 3: I can see both sides here. OP does not get to decide what his girlfriend can or can't have in her apartment, that's her decision. However, I completely understand that the apartment is not a suitable place for meeting with colleagues in the slightest. What happens to this meeting now this OP's choice and responsibility. (On a personal note, I get decorating your place, there's anime drawings I made myself and figurines in my room too. The girlfriend's apartment sounds horrifying to me, but if it's what makes her happy, she should stick to it.)
