Hey… The display is way different from yours. It just has a music page… no audio page. And my audio files can’t be selected from the files tab. I need help
When you select a screen recording, it doesn’t pop up with the three dotted icon, it just uploads the file straight away not allowing you to click audio only
I know this is super late but I saw your comment on another video, I just learned to take the audio, click on it until the white line appears, then swipe down on like you were gonna split it. It should split then adjust, delete, etc
I just downloaded music from the TH-cam creator page and it’s not showing up in iMovie. Any idea why I can’t see it? I even searched for it by title. Thanks for any tips.
There's a couple of ways to do it. If you downloaded on a computer and air drop it across to your phone. You should get an option to open in iMovie then add it to any project. Otherwise you can save it to your files app. and put it in the iMovie folder. Then from within iMovie when you tap on the plus button to add audio tap on the Imported option and you should see the new audio file there.
@@theadventuresofkrisandwen If you can't find the files app when you swipe down and do a search for it then it may not be installed. In that case go to the app store and download it.
Hi there, that was an incredible tip about doing the screen recording using Spotify. I just tried it but encountered a problem that I cannot find a solution for. I went into IMovie and tapped the + sign and “audio only”.. then fir a pop up that said: “ Move the playhead to a wider empty audio section”. What does that mean?? I tried a few different things but still getting that pop up.
Try the following. After you tap on the video to add it to the timeline, rather than tap on the plus button, tap on the three dotted icon on the right hand side and select add as audio only. Let me know if that works.
If the music has a fade in I presume it is on the track itself so to remove the fade you may have to trim the clip to where it does not have a fade. You can do this by making the track a foreground layer, tap on the audio track in the timeline, tap on the foreground menu item and then use the split tool to edit.
Just to clarify how it works within the TH-cam environment: TH-cam use some AI to detect the audio in your videos and match them with commercial audio tracks. Once matched you will get a copyright notice and they will say that it is OK and that your video will not be taken down. However if you are monetized all earnings will go to the copyright owner of the music track. In some cases if the owner chooses to they can request a takedown of the video, but as I understand it this is not common, its all about the money.
I’m using iPhone 12 Pro Max and if I add the audio and making it background it still doesn’t allow me to drag the mp3 track without the video moving with it
If you use a song that has copyright on most platforms you will find that your content may be restricted. For example on TH-cam you will usually get a copyright notice so if you intend to monetize you will find all proceeds go to the artist/record label. In some instances they don't even allow you to use it. So if you use a commercial track just be aware of these restrictions.
Excellent video! I have a query, I’m unable to find these beautiful soundtracks in iMovies on my Mac. Is it only available in iMovies for iPhone and iPad? Please advise.
For some reason Apple did not include them on the Mac OS version. No idea why. However you can do an edit on the iphone and send the project to the Mac and that will send the audio track over. Or do a mock edit on the iphone just to get the music and then airdrop that file over to the mac then use it for the soundtrack.
In most cases the music included in iMovie should be OK. However if a sample is similar to a registered track it may get caught up in the copyright check. In which case you would have to dispute the copyright claim and in the explain section you mention that the audio you used was from iMovie and it should get released. To be 100% safe on to avoid the hassle, you can use the music in the TH-cam Audio Library in your creator studio. This is for TH-cam but not necessarily other platforms.
Well! Sucks! The record option didn’t work on iMusic. The screen record option didn’t capture the audio while playing the music. Apple really sucks sometimes. Sometimes!

Is there a way that you can add songs of your favorite artist but put it private for only you can hear it for you don’t get copyright?
You don't have to. However it seems to be the one that has less restrictions on screen recording. Many tracks on Apple music are DRM protected and just go silent.

For some reason Apple haven't included any of the theme audio tracks in the OSX version. Given all the issues with copyright I would highly recommend that you look at the music library in the TH-cam Creator Studio. You can download these and use freely. Simply drag them into to your Apple Music App, create a playlist and then when you are in iMovie navigate to that playlist in the Audio window.
