If I was the judge, I would not like this filing at all. It appears the defense is attempting to tell the judge how to run the courtroom. Never a good way to begin. The defense needs to stay in its lane.
I hope the lawyers are charging Baldwin extra for making such dramatic exaggerations. It's almost theatrical. Baldwin wants to write and produce the whole script for his trial. Baldwins Old Boy fame and wealth will not help him now.

Baldwin's lawyers have done a stellar job of turning the court of public opinion against them. I have no idea who this Baldwin fellow is but his lawyers seem like bullies and I hope he is held accountable for his crimes.

Could the judge take exception to the repeated and largely unfounded allegations of prosecutorial misconduct? They keep banging on this drum and I can't help wondering if they could end up taking it too far, and face some kind of sanction as a result?

Did you see the recent hearing where the judge decided that the defense would be allocated 2-3 days max for their case in chief? Spiros was so caught up trying to throw the prosecution under the bus he didn’t notice that he walked himself right into it. His eyes got so huge. It was hilarious.

Baldwin's lawyers just wanted to clarify for the court that they are asshats. I expect a judge of repute would see this veiled, cheap ploy for what it is. Pre-game jitters? Or even prepping for an appeal? Either way, way to get the judge offside.

There's doing everything they can, which is his right. That said, this sort of thing is trading for a possible advantage in the court of law for a near certain liability in the court of public opinion. "If he's as innocent as he wants to claim, why all this effort to hobble the prosecution?" (BTW what is the burden of proof in the court of public opinion?)

Exactly my point! Every single Armorer he has ever worked with should be showing up to testify that a) they are not shit at their jobs (unlike Hannah) and b) Baldwin absolutely 100% has the institutional knowledge to have known better.

I have some amount of schadenfreude watching the State being abused in much the same manner as the State abuses the average citizenry on a regular basis.
That said, this (mostly) looks like an example of the classic, “when the law is on your side - pound on the law, when the facts are on your side - pound on the facts, when neither is on your side - pound on the table.”

The very fact that gun safety training for actors is industry standard proves the argument that "I'm just a dumb pretty actor, can't be bothered to use guns safely" is utter bs.

Below are the three most important rules that apply to EVERYONE who touches a firearm and are the first thing EVERYONE learns in EVERY firearm safety course. These rules are very well documented, it took me seconds to find them and cut and paste them here. Even if all of your “rules” were broken, following these rules would have prevented a death.
- Always Keep Firearm Pointed in a Safe direction (Never point your gun at anything you do not intend to shoot)
- Treat All Guns as Though They are Loaded (Never assume a gun is unloaded (check for yourself)
- Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger until You are Ready to Shoot (Never touch the trigger on a firearm until you actually intend to shoot)
Here are three very important rules straight out of the Screen Actors Guild Firearm Safety Guidelines:
- Treat all weapons as though they are loaded and never point one at anyone, including yourself.
- Anyone that will be using a weapon shall know all of the operating features and safety devices.
- All local, state, and federal laws and regulations are applicable and can override these guidelines if they are more stringent.
Making up “rules” that help your case is fine in the comments section, but in court they’re going to require some evidence to call something a “most important rule”.

That was certainly a question in the Depp v. Heard trial. I think most people _believed_ they could tell when the actors were being sincere and when they were putting on a show. But obviously not all people came to the same conclusion, so it's tricky.

Trust me, this is Baldwins doing. If you would like to see lawyers who run up their bills, look into Alex Murdaughs lawyers. For the entire trial, they rented out this huge estate which is usually rented for weddings. The place can do several at one time as well as house the guests, There was a big spread done. They not only did not need a place this elite but not a place this big. Not to mention the price, I can't remember now but it was ridiculous.
I think they are priming the judge to react favourably to their objections.

I think this was just to aggravate Morrissey. The judge does not strike me as someone who would entertain this type of behaviour. Like 'if you have an objection...do it... NEXT'
Except Hannah's trial was a shit show where the judge, prosecutor, and defense counsel were all over the map.
For me, this is filed in bad faith. It's one big temper tantrum full of mischaracterizations. It does not have any legal significance because an order telling the mean mean prosecutor to simply follow the existing lawyering rules before the trial has even started is not a thing. The only purpose is to offend the prosecutor and even the judge.
I'm genuinely excited that Mr. Pietta may be called to testify. That would be an interview i would watch any time.

this trial will slowly devolve into the opposite day defense skit from WKUK
so this is how the defense is going to get around only having 2-3 days to make their case.
make it so that the other 5-6 days for the prosecution will be slow and constantly interrupted.
If they try to slow it down the Judge will give them only 1 day. She's not playing with them. She's very smart. She told them she'd see how things go and that will determine how many days they get, if they slow it down they get less time than ever.

If he is found guilty, do you think he will be allowed to stay out on bond until appeal is over? Seems as though high profile/celebs are allowed this courtesy as others are not. Hannah went right to jail so he should go as well.
Elizabeth Holmes was sentenced in 2018 but she did not actually go to prison until 2023. All this so she could give birth to and take care of her newborn child. Why? Countless children are born every day to women in prison and they aren't released. High profile cases get off.

It's actually a very good filling to try and get in the prosecutors head as it warns her that they will be objecting to bad behavior and gives much less leeway to argue her way out when she gets caught. It's actually quite genius.
