      Grafer90 APB First off, they were fishing for food. You can tell by the size they were keeping. Second, you can't help what size fish bites. Third, you wouldn't want to eat that size of fish. It is probably full of mercury and can cause health problems. So, you release that fish to spawn and help replenish the population. Basic conservation rule.

    • @lucianofiore7378
      @lucianofiore7378 7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      The ice is clear because that is pure water for the most part that was frozen much faster than at a normal rate. THe faster it freezes, the less of a chance of air getting suck in it which fucks it up. Also because it gets so cold up there, is froze relitivly fast which prevented crystals from forming in the ice.

    • @ThePols87
      @ThePols87 7 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      This is when it gets very cold, very quickly. Usually when it's this cold, it doesn't snow much, so the water just freezes without anything getting caught in between the layers of ice. Then it gets mild and the snow covers the surface of the lake. But usually for a few weeks if you're lucky, lakes can be seen like this.

    That was an awesome trout; and I am also happy to see it was a catch-and-release too. Wonderful!! What a fish tale this one will be.

    When you catch a huge fish like that, and release it back into the water, you are insuring the future of the species by letting it reproduce. Thousands of fish are going to be born of that monster trout, thereby feeding thousands of people, instead of killing an obvious superior specimen, and taking that superior genetic material out of the gene pool of trout for one measly dinner. These men have shown conscious conservation by letting that fish go, we all benefit from their decision, the fishermen who will catch this whopper's offspring, and the lake trout species as well. Amazing catch!

      You may want to look into the consumption advisories for North American Lake Trout before you use the phrase “thousands of meals”. These guys are just informed sportsmen.

      Carrie Vogel I think if one fish is eaten the species won't go extinct. Give me a break.

      The Disconnected Wife Fish lay eggs which are fertilized by a male, they don't get pregnant!

      Ppl just sound stupid when they say a fish is “pregnant” bc it’s fat

    Thats so crazy! Do you guys live in Thunderbay? Thats where i do. Its super cool how you caught this monster fish in the same lake Superior that i live by! Awesome, man. Liked!

    • @ThePols87

      Dude, Lake Superior is massive. They literally could live anywhere between Neebing and Sault St Marie. That's like 800kms of lake shore.

    a lot of you people don't understand that once a fish gets to a certain size you can't Harvest it anymore because it's considered a breeder to keep the species going.

    I don't fish and I have a question. Why when some people catch fish, they let them go?

    • @Johnyknowhow
      @Johnyknowhow 7 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      some people fish for sport, some people fish for food. Some people fish for the thrill of catching the fish, other people fish for the thrill of showing it off to their fishing buddies
      the world of fishing is really diverse
