great catch! my first time Ice Fishing was up in Grantsburg, WI - Big Wood Lake. I'd never caught Bass before - so my first catch was a 6lb Large Mouth - that was one of my best days fishing!

You are a true fisherman....last nov. i caught a 20+lb brown in wa st.....i sounded just like you....especially after he came to the surface the 1st. time!!!!! Well done. To all the people complaining about handling the fish: The fish wouldn't fit through the whole. It had to be squeezed through. It's the only way to handle a monster fish in those conditions. Oh, and he didn't actual grab it by the gills, he was holding it by that boney area that covers the gills.

That clear ice is trip. I always thought it was thicker than that, and the water is at the top of the hole.
