I've been using it the last couple of days. I think this is THE OS for this device. It's lightweight, powerful and customizable. Usually, you only get 2/3. Thanks again for your videos brother.
Glad to see you make this video! I’m part of the discord community as well and a contributor. I just want to add that the MuOS community is very active and always trying to improve the OS. It is so far my favorite OS for this device as well
5:53 you have NO idea how helpful the disk management hack was! I have been pulling out my hair trying to figure out what was going on with my card! Also, fantastic tutorial!
Great video! Really appreciated the walkthru at the end about how you can manage and sync files on the device. My SD card reader broke so I am going to give updating it via the virtual file manager a shot. EDIT #3: Discord helped me out. The login is muos and muos.
Thank you so much for creating this video! It was incredibly well-done and it helped me out a lot. I really appreciate the effort you put into making it informative and easy to follow. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for this video. I have m new H in the mail, and I’m really looking forward to trying, Muos on it. It looks really good. The fact that it’s using a simple yet new interface built on retro arch is refreshing to me. I like emulation station but sometimes it’s kinda jank with retro arch, and it can be confusing to newbies to know where to adjust your settings. I hope MuOS is better in that way. Cheers!
Awesome! I hope you enjoy your new H. MuOS just came out with v11 so a lot of the issues that they had with 10 should be fixed and there are a lot of improvements.
Just downloading MuOS Beans for the first time. I just got an H, too, I'm still just checking things out. I know MuOS put in the music player, but I'm wondering if it has ebook, like stock. Not that I plan to read a lot on there, but sometimes a book is the best for certain pick up, put down scenarios and there's a few I like to put on anything.
@@bipbop3121 I think you”re on to something there with the e-books. All the reviewers scoff at the idea, but what you described is a perfect scenario. I could see myself reading through LOTR 10-15 minutes at a time on a handheld. It’s better than a phone imo cause you won’t get interrupted by notifications.
Nice video for a nice OS that deserves more attention ! Edit: Syncthing uses port 7070 !! I was already deperate that i could not get it working with 8384
7:22 , from where did you took all the games/roms? Are a copy from the ones in the original SD? - it is a great video, and you made it very easy to follow up. Thank you
Wow I just found this channel and it comes in extremely helpfull! amazing work providing this in-depth information! thank you very much, liked and subbed. Edit: question: will the mu3 creation process prevent image scraping compatibility?
Glad to help out! Thanks for the like and subscribing! A lot of scrapers should be able to handle m3u files but it might depend on exactly which one you are using.
Great step by step video for a newbie like me. My son was still using the RG35XXH native OS it came with. Is there a way to transfer the game progress from the original folders I have saved? Also should I transfer over the bios folder content from the original OS folders also?
Help, Hey, I'm wondering what happened to MUos when I go to the games folder of a given console and press A, and it throws me to the console menu. Previously, every game was turned on only through retroarch one at a time and I can't add it to my favorites either. Y shows that it's added, but it's there there is no way to fix it so that it would be like before, I pressed it and the game started
Great video! I'm totally bew to all this stuff and wanted to ask if you have or could do a video to install batocera 40 and the "Done Set" roms. Many thanks!
@Phyrex Techs for some reason, the pico8 instructions here in this video did not work for me. If you look at the page you had pulled up, it has changed and talks about 32 binaries? Do I need to do something different now?
I have not noticed any difference with performance with the new updates. However I have not looked into it very closely. Can you give any examples of games that you found improvements with so I can verify this?
hi phyrex, great guides. im using 2 sd card setup. does portmaster games saved to card 1 instead of 2? i want to install the portmaster games to my sd 2 card, but im not sure if i have the options to choose to which sd card its installed to.
Thank you! May I ask what dimensions you went with the scrapped box art? I'm having issues with the default settings where the image is wayyy too large and it gets cropped in the preview...Did you set max height or maybe just max width?
I download and securely installed the system on my sd card but I can’t add Roms to the Roms section of the folder I keep getting a error when trying to use balena to write the images of the Roms onto an sd card any ideas?
hi, thanks for this awesome guide! I have a question, together with RG35XX H, I also own an RS36S. Will muOS installed this way work for the RS36S too?
Hi, I got a weird issue. I used your m3u creator for both my PS1 and Dreamcast multi disc games. The weird thing now is that my Rg35xxH is running the Dreamcast games with no problems, but not the PS1 games. With my PS1 games when I run the m3u file I just get a short black screen and it goes back to the PS1 games menu. Both of my PS1 and Dreamcast folders are structured the same way, so this is a weird one. EDIT: I figured it out. It was a bios issue. As I did a reinstall of muOS for a 2 SD setup i forgot to put my bios files on my SD1 card. I guess that muOS came with some but not all bios files preinstalled as Dreamcast games were loading, but it turned out that none of my PS1 games were loading. Now it's all good.
Yeah that is an odd one, a few things to check. Are your ps1 games CHD format? While on the ps1 games list screen, hit the X button to refreash the list. Have you tried hitting select and testing a different core?
Do you happen to know the pixel W x H for the Skraper box art website. I attempted to add the style you did but it just did load in when i put in the whole screen 640 x 480.
Hello! I've been trying this, but I seem to encounter an issue with the files after flashing MuOs. Looking at the MUOS folder, there seems to be no files aside from drastic
@@PhyrexTechs Yes, I waited for the installation to finish before removing the sd card. I tried both the REFRIED and BEANS img file but I seem to encounter the same issue.
Hey! this is a very nice video! we really appreciate the time you take to help people with this new CFW. But part of my problem is the way that you need to fix the bios folder, I tried copying the folder from stock OS but some emulator does not open the games :(. It will be bnvery helpfull if you can provide a link with the "working" bios for the emulators that rg35xx supports :') so we can just download and copy the folder. Thanks in advance ! thumbs up
Hey! Thank you so much for the video! So, I used your chd converter and the .m3u generator/organizer, but I ran into some problems. Every time I slot the SD card, all my roms of ps1 gets deleted, only the ps1. I tried to re flash the system, re format the cards thru Rufus and windows, use different cards, 2 sd setup and single. In some of the tests I made the game appears but just flash a black screen and go back to explore content. Do you have any ideas what might be? Thanks in advance!
hello, two things. first - I have *cue and *bin files, they refer to one game. how can I connect them so that they do not duplicate in the device, and some have more than one file, for example: x (track 1), x (track 2) and so on. how can they be organized so that they are in one file.
The CHD format is popular for multi-disc games. However, it great for this reason too. If you convert those games into CHD files then all that info gets put into one file. I have a little section on this video about how to do it and a GitHub page with it some tools. But there are also other tutorials out there that might be more in-depth then the info I have.
You are correct. Someone else pointed out in a comment that the slow down was built into the game... I just didn't remember that being there. I checked out the slowdown fixed version and it does fix the issues.
I'm an idiot, the sd card reader had a separate micro sd card slot on it, I was just using an adapter. As soon as I noticed and put it in there, it worked no problem, so I guess it didn't like being fed through an adapter it didn't need. So I'll leave this here in case someone else gets similar errors. Just had a new Sandisk SC card trying to get it ready to put MuOS on a 35xx H (that hasn;t arrived yet) but both USbit and Rufus are giving me errors writing to it, usbit says something about closing explorers related to the drive (they are all closed) and i/o error. Rufus is just a vague "error".
Wouldn’t you loose your box art once we flash and update MuOS to a newer build one day? Is it not possible to place the box art in the secondary SD card?
With the latest version v11(beans), they added the backup and archive manager that has a built-in script to backup and restore your box art. I go over it just a bit in my v11 video.
In this video the install and setup part is for single SD cards. Then I have a separate part in the video for the 2nd SD card that you can skip if you don't plan on using one.
The core should not affect the display of pixels. You will want to choose the one that gives you the best performance. So as long as it is working and not stuttering you can use it. If you notice something wrong with how the pixels look(as in not square) you will want to change the aspect ratio or you can enable a overlay to add scanlines/grids.
8:43 When I try to launch a game, it just shows "loading content" at the bottom for a split second but does nothing. If I try again, it then shows "error loading content."
@@PhyrexTechs Yes it happens to all games in all systems. I'm on my RG35XX original and got the image file from the Discord server. Edit: The exception being the built-in games. I have all the recommended BIOS files of RG353 from the RG35XX subreddit copied over. Edit 2: I just tried putting games into the pre-made existing folders instead of my own and GBA works.
Just put this in my 28xx. It never asked me which core to use when I tried my first games in a folder, and pushing the select button (or any button for that matter) did not bring up a list of cores. Anyway, I couldn't get it to run Berzerk, or Galaga in either FBneo, or Mame. In N64, Mario Tennis wouldn't load either, and Mario Golf was all white on the course. The only games that I tried that actually worked were Protector for Vectrex (but I couldn't get to retroarch to remap the controls) and Celeste on Pico8.
Did you use the Refried Beans version for the 28XX? That is the only version that will work correctly for the 28XX. I made this video before they even released the 28XX version. But you should be able to hit the select button when in the game list and it should ask you to select the system then core. If that is not happening double check the version and you might need to reflash it.
@@PhyrexTechs Yeah, its Refried Beans. I did eventually realize that I had to select a system before it'd let me chose a core, so I can run more games now. Only problem now, is I can't figure out how to remap the controls for things like Vectrex, FBneo, Mame, and N64.
@@PhyrexTechs Ok, I figured out how to remap things,...well except for the Dreamcast stand alone emulator, can't figure out how to get the d--pad to take place of the missing stick.
You don't have to do it for all of them. It's only required for multi-disc games. I like to have all my games in CHD format to save space. I also like to sort them into separate folders. Since m3u does not have any negative effects on single-disc games, it just makes it easier (at least for me) to just use m3u for everything in the folder rather than to sort out all the multi-disc games and process them separately.
thank you! this is probably the best video of a CFW I've seen. Many times my question is: "Does it support syncthing?" and many videos of the more popular channels don't even touch on it. Few questions though: Can you scrape directly on the device? Does scrapping also scrape the name of the game? (so if I have something like "Batman (U) [!].zip", do I get to see it as simply "Batman" in the list? Or for arcade games which are for example: "ninjaw.zip" do I see it as "Ninja warriors"? Can you have a different game list view which is not based on text?(a grid view of sorts maybe, with just game cover art, or a screenshot of the title screen taken from scrapper) Can you have multiple wi-fi networks saved? (I would have one home network and one mobile hotspot network) Might end up putting muOS on the RG35XX SP. Looks promising! I'm used to the 20 seconds of ArkOS on the rgb30 so 5-6 seconds should feel pretty fast by comparison. I also LOVE the idea of the activity tracker. I love writing a journal on backloggd and putting in the playtime there.
Wow thanks! You cannot scrape directly on the device yet. The scraper is still being worked on. As of right now it is only the game list view with gameart/boxart. In the wifi tool it will not save multiple networks yet. Yeah muOS is still on the newer side compared other CFW but it is improving quickly.
Hello, I got my RG35XXH. I got excited and started to play Pokemon Ruby on the stock OS. I was saving my progress using the in game save button. I think this produced a .sav file in the same folder as my ROM. When I move that file to the same location as the ROM on MuOS Beans, it doesn't give me the option to open it. When I save a game in Beans, it creates a .srm file. Am I able to move my save over? Any help is appreciated?
You should be able to just rename the .sav to .srm Then place that file where the .srm muOS made is located I would recommend you make a backup copy of the .sav file just in case you have any issues.
Hi, great vid but a bit stuck. I, using the Beans image. Firstly when I flash the image, put in device to boot then back in PC it only gives one ROMS folder with MUOS folder inside it. But this is fine, I created a separate ROM's folder within it and populated all my roms in different folders but when I choose one it just gives the "no cores found" message. It doesnt ask me which system I'd like to use or which core etc. All the cores are on there in the MUOS folders as you said. Any idea what's happened here?
Hmm, So I just want to make sure you have the correct folder paths. On the SD card you should have the folders. Archive Backup Muos ports Roms If you dont have all of those or they are in other folders you may want to format the card again. Download the latest muOS update and try again.
@@PhyrexTechs so when I flash the image the main folder is called ROMS, within this folder is MUOS, ports, back up and archive. So slightly different to what you've said
Tiny Best set has many different links depending how large your SD card is. It should have it explained on the internet archive page even though it might be initially confusing. You start with "tiny best set go games" then can get more expansions so if you had a 64gb card you would get the 64 expansion along with the first one.
@@PhyrexTechs Thank you so much bro you don't know how helpful this is I was so confused doing this last night only issue I have now is my download speed but that's my own problem 😅 thanks again!
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried it three times. First I installed the Mu OS firmware that came before refried beans for the rg35xx sp on a 64 GB SanDisk card. I followed instructions and Flash the firmware with Rufus. And then in Windows 7 I opened up the SD card after initializing it in the SP device. And Windows management I can see a whole bunch of partitions but there's no ROMS partition just a RAW unformatted partition. This raw partition I can't change the drive letter or format it to FAT32 exfat or NTFS. Then on my second attempt I used a 256 GB sand this micro SD card and then tried it with the newest version of muos refried beans for my SP as well. Then I get the same exact thing I have a big 200 plus gigabyte raw partition at the end of SD card but it can't be assigned a drive letter or formatted
Damn, that's an odd issue. After you flash muOS onto the SD card and if muOS seems to run after the device finishes the install that should mean that the flash and install process worked correctly. So it sounds like an issue with the computer detecting the SD card properly. In disk management, you may want to try to delete all partitions/volumes and make sure that you have just one unformulated partition then start over with rufus to flash the SD card muOS.
@@PhyrexTechs yeah it's so odd. The SP can see the card and the device works on MUOS, it's just the pc not seeing the last ROM partition which should be in exfat format that the SP should have created. Its a few partitions I can see in disk management and then a large RAW unformatted partition at the end which can't be changed . That's a good idea let me try again Update:I formated as a single partition in Rufus to clear out all partitions as well as disk part in cmd line to clear all partitions. Then did a reflash in Rufus with refried beans and same thing. No roms partition is created in exfat only a large raw partition at the end. The SP even says its "restoring roms partition". In the SP Dingux it looks like there is a ROMS folder in MNT in sd card
After looking into this more it sounds like it might have to do with Windows 7. There are a lot of reports of people having issues with windows 7 not being able to see exFat partitions when there are like 6+ partitions on a drive. If you have access to another computer you may want to give that a try.
@@PhyrexTechs yeah thanks buddy, actually i have 2 SD CARDS 1 for SOTCK OS and 2nd for my ROMs so should I re flash both sd cards? sd 1 that has stock os should I re flash to install MUOS? and for sd 2 do the same? I'm asking because its my first time haha, I have re flashed STOCK Os MANY TIMES but never any other CFW thanks mate! ♥♥
You will have to at least flash the 1st SD card to get the muOS on it. The 2nd card with roms you may be able to use as it. The only thing that is required for the 2nd SD card is that all your rom folders are in a main folder called roms.
Since I started with RGC, even though I have a windows PC, I got balena etcher. Is Rufus, faster or better than etcher? Etcher is taking 90 minutes, just to clone the stock image (& I had even deleted the GB of unnecessary packed in ROMs
That's a great video here. I have a question, though, I have tried to install Pico 8 the way you said, step by step, but it keeps telling me that "it can't connect to the BBS". I checked and double checked that I was connected to the wifi. I haven't seen anywhere how to fix it and I was wondering if you or anyone can help me.
You may want to reboot the device then go to wifi and completely disconnect then reconnect and give it a minute or two. Then try start up spore. If that does not work. You may want to try deleting the 2 Pico 8 files you pull over into the SD and re-adding them.
Any chance you have an SP and swapped the SD card? If in muOS the device was set to SP and used in an H model it will be a black screen as it thinks the lid is closed.
so ive just installed the os but when im trying to open up portmaster it keep flicking up to the top of the menu does anyone know how to sort this out ?
You may need to redownload the muOS file. I ran into that issue recently and noticed that for some reason my download finished too fast and was incomplete.
I'm still at a lost tho, deciding btwn this and the MMiniPlus. Just been hearing great things about the onion OS but i prefer the RG35XX horizontal orientation more. I'm torn.
Yeah, I understand. It's hard to recommend one over the other because like you said Onion OS is such a good CFW and makes the MMP a great option for something small. But if looking for something more powerful and a horizontal format the XXH is also great.
My RG35XX H doesn't boot up when I insert the SD card freshly flashed with muOS beans for the initial boot. It doesn't have a problem booting up when I go back to the SD card I previously used with batocera. Can anyone please help?
You may need to try to reflash the card with muOS. You may want to redownload the image file as I have seen a couple reports of the file getting corrupted during the download.
New update Beans(v11) has been released - th-cam.com/video/FyzhvHpYogE/w-d-xo.html Pico-8 standalone needs these 2 files with Beans(v11) - pico8_64 (instead of pico8_dyn) - pico8.dat If it's still not working you might need to set the emulator. Hit select when you have splore highlighted and choose Pico 8 (External)
Open the M3U files in a word editor and make sure that the path to the game is correct and that the name of the file is the same. I have seen this sometime be caused by special characters in the names like exclamation points(!) being left off.
If you are using the latest standalone Mupen-rice emulator on muOS beans(v11). There currently is options for it but it does still have some usable shortcuts that can be found here. muos.dev/emulators/mupen They work but you wont see any visual indicators that anything is happening
It's not necessarily dangerous to the device. However it could increase the possibility of file corruption on the SD card. I'm not really sure how much of an increases this would be. I would assume it would still be very rare. I have never had it happen to me but it is something to take into consideration. The best option as of right now is still to set a game close hotkey and then select shutdown from the main menu :/
If you've set the options shown in the video, to autosave upon exiting the game and then autoload your state and have it put you right back into the game when you reboot, then holding the power button will cause the state NOT to be saved. On reboot, it'll load the previously saved state. So, in short, it won't save your state if you hold the power button down.
Your guide helped me a bunch, thanks. I still have some minor issues though. For instance my Sinclair ZX Spectrum games won't run using explore content. I have to open retroach manually and then choose "load content" with Fuse core. All the games are unzipped and I'm using .z80 format. Any pointers what I could be missing? Thanks.
@@PhyrexTechs yes, it's there. But even when I select it and launch the game, it returns to the list after a few seconds. Perhaps I could try a different file format, like .tap... EDIT: nope, it's not in a file format. Neither .tap, .z80 or .tzx work. Also I have some problems running arcade games and some ports on MUOS, so maybe you could take a look at some MUOS Beans issues in the future videos? :)
@@PhyrexTechs I've joined the muos discord and there's actually a bug that was reported and also a workaround. At mmc/MUOS/info/core/zxspectrum/core.cfg there's "o" missing in the ".so".
@@PhyrexTechs Then maybe this is a good time to get back to MuOS. I've been trying out v40 of Batocera for a while, but I am not too happy with idle battery consumption (even when powered "off", not idle as in -turns off the screen only-). Do you know if this is better with MuOS? (Both when powered off and normal idle would be great to know
The power consumption is definitely better on muOS currently. The "sleep" mode is still kinda the same on muOS where it will pause the emulation and turn the screen off but is not a true sleep mode. I think a real sleep mode might be in the works but I know that is kinda complicated to pull off. I got about 9 hours of game time on muOS at half brightness with PS1 games. And I think consensus is that you lose around 5% an hour with "sleep" mode. So it is better than nothing but could still be better.
@@funkytux2820 The shutdown battery issue is apparently an acmeplus bug where fat32/exfat filesystems prevent proper shutdown. You can avoid it by using ext4 instead. The standby power issue seems to be a kernel problem which probably can't be fixed without Anbernic's cooperation to release the kernel source as required by the license.
Awesome! Thank you both for your replies! I was wondering some time ago if I could just use ext4 instead, since these firmwares are Linux, which actually is the system i mainly use. Didn't get to research this properly as I have a full-time job and attend school.. One last thing: will the process be the same with ext4? (Format the card to ext4 before flashing with balena etcher etc.).
My new sd card doesnt show up can any one help? Should I not transfer the stuff on the other two cards thats came with the device to the new card before flashing?

I added the roms and I turn on the handheld but it stuck on the Mu OS logo screen. What happened?
Any issues on first boot? before you added the ROMs?

question: will the mu3 creation process prevent image scraping compatibility?
Glad to help out! Thanks for the like and subscribing!
A lot of scrapers should be able to handle m3u files but it might depend on exactly which one you are using.
My problem here is that, at least with DraStic saves, they are not saved there, but in /emulator/drastic/backup. And that is balls.
Yeah, it would be convenient to have all the saves, including the stand alone emulators saves, in one place.

Yeah, I plan on making a video for Batocera some point soon.
thanks daddy. I will be doing this when mine arrives.
Lol. Awesome. Nice icon.

@Phyrex Techs for some reason, the pico8 instructions here in this video did not work for me. If you look at the page you had pulled up, it has changed and talks about 32 binaries? Do I need to do something different now?
Yeah with the Beans v11 update it has changed
Pico-8 standalone needs these 2 files with Beans(v11)
- pico8_64 (instead of pico8_dyn)
- pico8.dat
@PhyrexTechs hey man Thank You for the prompt reply hpmie
The last two stock updates are greater than batocera and muos, psp now you can play 90% of all games, and dreamcast feels native
I have not noticed any difference with performance with the new updates. However I have not looked into it very closely. Can you give any examples of games that you found improvements with so I can verify this?
I can't get autosave/autoload state to work on the stock OS. Does work on MuOS. That's why I'm using it.
hi phyrex, great guides.
im using 2 sd card setup. does portmaster games saved to card 1 instead of 2? i want to install the portmaster games to my sd 2 card, but im not sure if i have the options to choose to which sd card its installed to.

So if you have a 2nd SD in the device Portmaster will install everything there.
Hey I was wanting to play the Arcade game of Alien Vs Predator but don't know what core to put...and I wasn't able to play it yet. What can I do?
Thank you! May I ask what dimensions you went with the scrapped box art? I'm having issues with the default settings where the image is wayyy too large and it gets cropped in the preview...Did you set max height or maybe just max width?
Most of the box art I have are 240 x 360. I used some of the thing I did in this video th-cam.com/video/eOj-x7kHotI/w-d-xo.html
I download and securely installed the system on my sd card but I can’t add Roms to the Roms section of the folder I keep getting a error when trying to use balena to write the images of the Roms onto an sd card any ideas?
I tried it and liked it but for one big issue. I can't get mame working in it. I think I used 0.375b from 2000.
Hi. How did you install DevilutionX? Is there a guide for muOs?
It is one of the ready to play games on Postmaster.
is there a way to have a frontend like with scrollable consoles instead of just text like a Launchbox thing where you scroll through consoles
How is the dreamcast/n64 performance on muOS compared to stock?
With the latest version v11 having the standalone mupen with rice for N64 I prefer it over stock. Dreamcast is about the same.
hi, thanks for this awesome guide! I have a question, together with RG35XX H, I also own an RS36S. Will muOS installed this way work for the RS36S too?
As of right now muOS only supports the Anbernic RG--xx devices.
Every time I try to convert on Rufus it gives me an access denied message any help?
Hello! I've been trying this, but I seem to encounter an issue with the files after flashing MuOs. Looking at the MUOS folder, there seems to be no files aside from drastic
Is this after you flash and then place the card into the system to finish the install?
Are each of your PS1 games in their own folders or are they all in one folder?
Were they working before running the CHD converter?
hello, two things. first - I have *cue and *bin files, they refer to one game. how can I connect them so that they do not duplicate in the device, and some have more than one file, for example: x (track 1), x (track 2) and so on. how can they be organized so that they are in one file.
The CHD format is popular for multi-disc games. However, it great for this reason too. If you convert those games into CHD files then all that info gets put into one file. I have a little section on this video about how to do it and a GitHub page with it some tools. But there are also other tutorials out there that might be more in-depth then the info I have.
26:55 that might be a FFT issue right? I wonder if getting the slow down fix version would alleviate the fps there.
Rufus is just a vague "error".
como puedo enviar archivos desde mi android por FTP a RG35xx h con muOS?
Does that multi-disc trick work the same way with batocera?
If Batocera also hides hidden folders it should. I need to try it.
@@PhyrexTechsoh! Thank you. 😊
Hi guys, how to saving in the portmaster? Saving the progress

In this video the install and setup part is for single SD cards. Then I have a separate part in the video for the 2nd SD card that you can skip if you don't plan on using one.
how do I switch my cores
You will hit select when hovering over a game to re-select your core.
@@PhyrexTechs in your opinion what you think the best cores for good pixels
The core should not affect the display of pixels. You will want to choose the one that gives you the best performance. So as long as it is working and not stuttering you can use it.
If you notice something wrong with how the pixels look(as in not square) you will want to change the aspect ratio or you can enable a overlay to add scanlines/grids.
@@PhyrexTechs you are a knowledgeable man thank you🗿i subbed
bummer - it doesn't have auto-sleep -- what does idle blank means btw?
Idle blank would be the "fake sleep" where after an amount of time with no input it would turn off the screen and pause any emulation.
@@PhyrexTechs i tested it and set it to 5 mins but it doesn't go to sleep for some reason. same with idle shutdown, it's not doing anything.
Yeah as of right now it does not work on the Plus or H model. Only the original rg35xx. That is something that is being working on.
8:43 When I try to launch a game, it just shows "loading content" at the bottom for a split second but does nothing. If I try again, it then shows "error loading content."
Does this happen for all games?
Which system? and which core is being used?
@@PhyrexTechs Yes it happens to all games in all systems. I'm on my RG35XX original and got the image file from the Discord server.
Edit: The exception being the built-in games. I have all the recommended BIOS files of RG353 from the RG35XX subreddit copied over.
Edit 2: I just tried putting games into the pre-made existing folders instead of my own and GBA works.
Is the image file you used for the OG? Just making sure.
Are you using a 2 SD card setup?
Are any of the SD cards in the ext4 format?
You mentioned no Stardew valley. I hope that changes. I want to play Stardew valley on 28xx lol
I have seen some screenshots of it running with test builds so it should be coming soon hopefully. Not sure about performance yet.
great guide mate...how you do the multidisk trick to work with dreamcast roms?.. mine dont open the m3u
Not sure about that. I'll check on my side. Do the games work if you try to launch them just from the CHD file and not the m3u?
@@PhyrexTechs thanks for the reply..yes it works when i run them from the chd
Why do you need to run all the games via mu3 files? I can understand for multi disc games but why all of them?
You don't have to do it for all of them. It's only required for multi-disc games.
I like to have all my games in CHD format to save space. I also like to sort them into separate folders. Since m3u does not have any negative effects on single-disc games, it just makes it easier (at least for me) to just use m3u for everything in the folder rather than to sort out all the multi-disc games and process them separately.
thank you! this is probably the best video of a CFW I've seen. Many times my question is: "Does it support syncthing?" and many videos of the more popular channels don't even touch on it.
Few questions though:
Can you scrape directly on the device?
Does scrapping also scrape the name of the game? (so if I have something like "Batman (U) [!].zip", do I get to see it as simply "Batman" in the list? Or for arcade games which are for example: "ninjaw.zip" do I see it as "Ninja warriors"?
Can you have a different game list view which is not based on text?(a grid view of sorts maybe, with just game cover art, or a screenshot of the title screen taken from scrapper)
Can you have multiple wi-fi networks saved? (I would have one home network and one mobile hotspot network)
Might end up putting muOS on the RG35XX SP.
Hello,
I got my RG35XXH.
You should be able to just rename the .sav to .srm
Then place that file where the .srm muOS made is located
I would recommend you make a backup copy of the .sav file just in case you have any issues.
@@PhyrexTechs It worked! Thank you very much.
Can MUOS run PCE CD rom? I added in and it doesn’t run.
Does it give you any core options if you hit the select button while in the game list menu?
@@PhyrexTechs thanks for reply. Fraid not. "No cores found" . Strange as I can see them all in thr MUOS folder when thr card is in my PC
@@PhyrexTechs when I press the "help" button which is just the Function button. Is says "This message has not complete yet. Maybe you could help out?"
Hmm, So I just want to make sure you have the correct folder paths.
On the SD card you should have the folders.
Archive
Backup
Muos
ports
Roms
If you dont have all of those or they are in other folders you may want to format the card again. Download the latest muOS update and try again.
@@PhyrexTechs so when I flash the image the main folder is called ROMS, within this folder is MUOS, ports, back up and archive. So slightly different to what you've said

Hit select when at the game list and you can select another one. Gambatte is my go to for Gameboy and Gameboy Color
I got this for my RG35XXSP and works great… except I cannot update my retroarch cores 😢 any ideas on how to do this?
You can't update the retroarch cores through retroarch on these devices. The cores normally get updated along with firmware updates.
Hey I had a question for tiny best set go do I download the 30 links? Or what do I download?
That's a good idea let me try again
Update:I formated as a single partition in Rufus to clear out all partitions as well as disk part in cmd line to clear all partitions.
@@PhyrexTechs thanks for the info. I am suspecting this too. Even the latest Rufus doesn't work on Win7 and version 3.2 has to be used.
muOS 2405 BEANS is new! do u know if installation is the same process-?
Same process! Just make sure to back up anything you don't want to lose from your SD card before you flash it.
@@PhyrexTechs yeah thanks buddy, actually i have 2 SD CARDS
1 for SOTCK OS and 2nd for my ROMs
so should I re flash both sd cards? sd 1 that has stock os should I re flash to install MUOS?
and for sd 2 do the same? I'm asking because its my first time haha, I have re flashed STOCK Os MANY TIMES but never any other CFW
thanks mate!
I do find Rufus faster, but it will also depend on your SD card reader and SD card speed.
Great Video! where i can find the bluetooth settings?thank you
Thanks! Sadly muOS does not have bluetooth support yet. It is being worked on but no ETA as of yet.
I wonder why my rg35xx h stuck on boot then black screen? version 2405.1 muos
Any chance you have an SP and swapped the SD card? If in muOS the device was set to SP and used in an H model it will be a black screen as it thinks the lid is closed.
Does your RG35XX H have a dimmer and less vibrant screen than your RG35XX?
Thanks!
Mine seems to be comparable. I can't tell a difference between the two.
@@PhyrexTechs okay thank you sir!
can i create 2 partitions? 1 for os and for roms to not install it with games every time?

so ive just installed the os but when im trying to open up portmaster it keep flicking up to the top of the menu does anyone know how to sort this out ?
Have not seen that before.
Make sure your internet is connected and if it still doing it you may need to re-flash muOS onto the SD card.
I’ve got it working now, i had to download postmaster separately it wasn’t in the latest version of muOS for me
My computer keeps telling me the MuOs files are corrupted :-(
You may need to redownload the muOS file.
After installing muos I can no longer see my card on the pc

How to get into emulator options when in nintendo 64 game?
If you are using the latest standalone Mupen-rice emulator on muOS beans(v11).
There currently is options for it but it does still have some usable shortcuts that can be found here.
muos.dev/emulators/mupen
They work but you wont see any visual indicators that anything is happening
Is there a way to turn the device off immediately using the power button? Long pressing does that, but is that good for the device?
Very true. Thanks for clarifying that point.
Thanks.
When using Explore Content, did you hit the select button in the games list and see if the Fuse core was available as an option there?

Does MuOS have access to GPU?
Yes it does. 64 bit GPU drivers should be working soon. Might be on the next update.
