- Today is 2021 Topps Series 1 release day! This rookie class is absolutely loaded with hitting and pitching talent. In this episode I will rank the top hitting rookies that I believe are the best buys out of this product.
I really appreciate the work that goes in to these, especially as they help some of us investors. That being said, I think there are a couple other guys not listed that may be worth mentioning here: Cristian Javier (who ended up 3rd in AL ROY voting last year) and Jesus Sanchez (who so far has been killing it in the minors this year). Should be any moment now when the Marlins will be calling Sanchez back up from the minors.

A 1/1 of a great rookie is priceless. Most of the time for 1/1's, its not a giant deal because there are more 1/1's, just not that player, but if its a player everyone wants, and there is only 1 card of that in the world.... then its crazy valuable. Hope u kept it in good condition
Yeah Jo Adell was also coming off an injury when he went to triple A also. He just needs more time.

I love seeing Luis Garcia ranked 10 - also love picking up all of his Gold /2021 cards while everyone sleeps. Up to 8 and counting.
I also think Luis Garcia is a sleeper pick. he is only ranked where he is based off the system I set up so it wouldn't be subjective. Awesome pickups dude. Keep stacking them! 👍

You think these Rookies Cards will be qorth decent money even for the base? Or are these more assuming you're pulling different Holo cards?

A month now that this set has come out and along with its odds, my opinion is that the base cards will prolly be a dime a dozen. The odds tell me that this stuff has been mass produced. Parallels or bust pretty much.

I think you're off on Nick madrigal he should be closer to 5he never strikes out he's always on base and he has sick defense I'm thinking maybe six + gold gloves and he can steal some bases other than that nice list keep your eye out in series 2 for Andrew Vaughn

I got a Cronenworth black parallel today out of 70!
You need to handicap your catching prospects for at least two reasons. The first is a catcher will play 120 to 140 games a year. The is impacts cumulative stats like HRs, RBIs and hits. Second is because catchers are the most injury prone position. To pile on, defense is rarely a plus in card collecting. One who breaks the norm is Ozzie Smith, but you don't see a huge clamoring for defensive players.
Hi. Do you have any advise. I am 11 and get a few packs and maybe a blaster a month. Should I get cards from amazon and online or places like the MLB store and target. What packs do you think I should get. Personally, I really like stadium club but I want to start eBay soon so I want the most valuable cards. Thanks so much.
I would recommend buying what or who you enjoy! I really love stadium club as well, but there is not a tin of value there in comparison to a product like Topps Chrome. Also, i would consider buying some singles of players that you like. 20 dollars towards a few players rookies that you believe in is probably a better use of your money then buying packs to open. You can't go wrong either way! Don't try to "invest" too hard. Just enjoy the hobby. Thanks for watching!
So I opened around $200 worth of boxes and pulled an Alec Bohm 1952 black /25, gold /2021, Jo Adell red 1952 chrome /70, Bart gold foil and a Marcus Stroman /25 1986 red auto. Did I do good? Lol

I pulled a hunter harvey independence day card and a andres jemenez rookie card but not sure if they will be worth anything in the future
Hey Wayne, Those are some awesome pulls! We won't know for probably 2-5 years what rookies will be worth anything so keep them in good shape just in case!
@@scottiebcards2354 I got the cards in protectors because the independence day card is way to nice ya know last year I pulled a bo bichette pink refractor rookie card from a value pack at a Wal greens it's a topps chrome card
I’m skeptical about Keibert Ruiz and here’s why: He’s playing at a catching position on the dodgers thats already stacked with Will Smith and Austin Barnes. i don’t see him getting a ton of playing time barring injuries, idk if his rookie card is then worth investing right now.
Many people think keibert will be a piece of trade bate.
I pulled a mount castle should I grade it or sell it raw ?
Sweet pull! I would look the card over first to make sure that it looks good. If it looks good it may be a decent card to send in. If there is a corner ding, edge wear, or a surface issue I would just sell raw! A PSA 9 Mountcastle will probably go for about what it costs to grade the card, so you want to make sure it is in great condition if you are sending it in!

I think one guy to look at that’s not on this list & he might not be in Series 1 is Sam Huff Texas Rangers. He had 31 AB last yr 3 HR & had an 1.136 OPS..Might be a card/cards to hold if you have a couple
Hey! I have heard fantastic things about Sam Huff. He isn't on this checklist, but hopefully will be in series 2 or update!
Hey look closer to Carlson, I think he is number 1 or 2. Look at his numbers after his 2nd call up, he was so good that they batted him in clean up during playoffs.
100% true. Carlson is going to be a problem for the NL Central for years to come.
I would go for those numbered golds for sure, but for investing long term 99.9% of foil cards do not hold value over time. I have been looking at this closely recently, and I have already sold bohm, pache, carlson, and adells gold and rainbow foil cards happily, because even if they are all stars those seem to lose value as they are not numbered. Great value for the whole year while the product is out though, which is great.

I think that you definitely scored by finding some blasters in the wild! I would say bust them for yourself and have some fun. You could get something big out of them or get a good rookie that could be worth something in the future!

i bought 6 blaster boxes should i open them myself or resell?
I've opened up 20 blasters, 5 rangers and 4- blisters and i would say sell most. I only got 2 maybe 3 good blasters in my opinion. The best runs that I've gotten have been form hangers and blisters.

They are not really worth reselling unless you are reselling them at a show. Based of what they are selling for on eBay after fees and shipping you won't make much money. These are not to hot on secondary market because they made quite a bit more this year due to high demand
You could take it to an LCS. That’s what I didn’t I had a full case of blasters sold half and ripped half.

I bought a couple boxes and looked how much things are going for, most things are selling for under $5. Actually, most are under $2. People dont seem interested in these cards now/yet.
Yeah I have been opening them as well. I haven't gotten a ton of value currently, but my hope is that one of these players will break out when play starts and makes up the value!

I am sure some are good and some are bad. This info is heavily based off of minor stats and minors rankings which isn't perfect, but a good indicator

I think it is too early to call him a bust since he is only 21 and skipped an entire year of development in the minors. I agree that I was disappointed with his 2020 though!
@@scottiebcards2354 seen him and trout in the out field @66er farm team. Trout was on rehab .Jo was on his way up. It's been a few years he has been top billing for the angels. I have seen nothing that makes me believe he is worth investing in. Years ago ,sure. I bought his early stuff but like I said , I seen him on the farm. So it's a local team player.
