Favorite line: "... and lots of instructions, we won't read those!"😂 I like the way it looks, really brings the car up to date! More capability than most new cars!
You should look into the Pioneer SPH20-DAB. It uses your smartphone as a screen and you can have it vertically or horizontally. Looks like less than a compromise and it doubles as an ordinary head unit as well. I use it in my 916.
Happy new year 🥳 Wonder how unconcern you throw all the Stereo parts on to the bonnet/paint. That’s nothing I would do with my own car. But fortunately it’s not my one. 😃
Neat trick is anyone is looking to do a DD stereo for the Giulietta, if you go via Halfords and pay the £30 fitting fee, they include for free all of the Fascia and the steering wheel harness! I saved hundreds doing this.
Looks.like a great system. Shame it doesn't blend in but it is your car and you do what you want with it. If this is all that is available then you take it and get used to it
Worth checking out the Joying head units - they're fabulous. Just put one in my 939 spider. Amazing bit of kit and the screen resolution is amazing. I'd post a pic but it won't allow me !
I don’t like posting negative comments, but that isn’t nice. I know you’re limited by the single DIN form factor, so I’d have paid more and gone for one of the motorised CarPlay/,Android auto units, these are a lot slimmer (thinner screen, don’t protrude as far) and better finished (no meccano round the back) and at least they won’t show when you aren’t needing the screen or it’s turned off.
The screen quality and touch response seem quite good, better than many branded I've seen...There are some 1-DIN pull-out Screens (can be used for radio without screen being unfolded), as well as some smaller 1-Din ~7-8inch stereos....the double din screen is indeed quite big, and its position is too low to be used for navigation
Hello. And what about the steering wheel control? This head unit can communicate whit the original SWC? I just want to buy a new stereo, and i don,t know witch one can do it..
@@ItaliaAutos ,many thanks for replay! I'm assuming that wasn't in the box,it must be bought separately.Wanted to buy folding 1din for my 156,but I can't find that extra thing for the steering wheel buttons to work
You're a bit hamstrung with the 147 fascia as you can't fit a double din stereo; so with that in mind what you've done is the best and only way to get all the mod cons 👍
Sound that Nelly, if I had unboxed that sterio over my own bonnet you could have guaranteed £250 from You've Been Framed as it slipped out of my hands as it dinted the bonnet 😆. Happy new year, keeps the video's coming pal.
Great install and product review. Does Alfa OBD and the OBD dongle allow you to reset service codes? I have a 2016 Giulietta QV and it's a struggle resetting the spanner and flashing oil can after servicing.
Random question, do you have a video on replacing rear anti roll bar bushes on a 147/gt? Heard the brackets need drilling out but wasnt sure. Thanks for all your videos
I have a 2019 Giulietta Super with the small info screen and hence no built in satnav. Is it possible to fit the bigger screen and get the satnav I want ?
Hi Neill, no real good alfa mechanics near me unfortunately.so you might be able to help me with a problem. I have a 2.4jtd Brera 2008 There are 2 issues 1.the dpf was in the boot when i purchased the Brera and a straight pipe was installed. can i just put the dpf back without having to remap the engine or will that have to be done. 2.airbag warning light stays on, so I'm just wondering will the "alfaobd" app show me where my airbag fault is? and reset of course. thanks love the channel best yet ,love the gags and detailed videos..
Actually really need this for the 156 - I'm running out of CDs 😂 But I share your frustration with the aesthetics, there's a guy in the states who 3D prints and moulds gauge holders that replace the air con vents for many types of Japanese cars to avoid gauge pods jutting out everywhere, one day in the future I imagine the DIN unit will be available as a separate tablet and amplifier and we can design something to mount the touch screen in place of the info display atop the dash. In any case this looks far more solid than my smartphone holder quivering at every pothole....
Its a shame that no one makes something thats a bit smaller and more compact. I know there single slot Android touchscreen but probably wont fit this car.

Thanks for watching
Nice video but it blocks those lovely gages though
You can still see them.
You should look into the Pioneer SPH20-DAB.

Great head unit, had one in my 159 too.
Yes Jay good unit, had two now in older cars.
Happy new year 🥳
Wonder how unconcern you throw all the Stereo parts on to the bonnet/paint. That’s nothing I would do with my own car. But fortunately it’s not my one. 😃
Whole car is being painted.
Don’t watch Ratarossa then😂 That would make your teeth itch 🤪
One of the best car stereos for cars that can basically just take 1DIN îs the Pioneer pioneer sph-10bt

there is a good option now, I've just watch it on a 4c video, is a Joying , the shape is superelongated and is not very tall, floating screen also
Send me a link and if atoto do one I'll see if I can get my hands on one to review.

Well done, although I do not personally like it. Prefer keeping it original
Each to there own. I wanted features over original looks.
@@ItaliaAutos Of course. Do not get me wrong, I amdire your work and the effort that you put into these cars.

Ita a compromise I'm happy to take. 😀👍
Excellent video!
Thanks. Happy New year. 😊

But then I'd still want the screen out when I'm driving so a bit pointless for me but may suit others better. 🙃
Hello. And what about the steering wheel control? This head unit can communicate whit the original SWC? I just want to buy a new stereo, and i don,t know witch one can do it..
You can add it all. Very versatile unit.
cracking stereo neil. just a shame it pokes out so far i had a single din in my 156 JTS didn;t do half the tings that one can do
since you cant see them cuz of the screen would be cool if you could see those 3 dials on the screen itself like thru obd info app
Best part is you like Pat Benatar!
Sure Do. Awesome lady.
does it come with carplay or android auto ?
What about steering wheel buttons, does it works with this new aftermarket multimedia?
If you buy the steering button patch lead.
@@ItaliaAutos ,many thanks for replay!

Haha. Nice.
Not for me, but I guess it's Android. What's the quality like? A double din version to replace the useless Seicane double din unit I have already.
Where do you have to place the GPS antenna for it to work properly? Do you have to route it to the side-column or will it work under the dash?
On the windscreen easily routed.

I've not been able to find a service reset on the alfaobd software but I'm sure it's got to be there somewhere.

Yep
Hello Neil. Nice to see you try something different. But in this case, it's not for me. Best wishes.
Well done looks good actually thought it was one were the screen comes out the unit guess they’re old hat now compared to this 👍
Nice work, but doesn't look good. I would keep 1DIN radio as it was before. Only music you need is Busso sound.
I'm a fan of both.
That's one way to hide a fastly dropping fuel gauge i guess.😀

Book it in and I'll take a look.
Could u get a single din with a motorised screen?
They still make them but for my this was my best option as I Don't mind the way is sits.

I'm not a fan of those 2 din touchscreen. I want buttons so I don't need to take the eyes of the road.
Prefer the original it hide the insrument
Great functionality but so out of place
That's the joys of 156 interiors difficult to modernised with out compromise
