Fair dinkum cobber! Hi from UK, I bought a Fiat Ducati motor home with semi automatic gearbox thinking it’s basically a manual with a simple robot attached to change gears. I soon wised up after multiple journeys back home sitting in a tow truck. It’s a case of getting rid or learning how to fix and as I’m a decent chap, not wanting to dump it on some poor sod, I am learning to fix. Your vids are excellent and as you say Multiecuscan is a must for finding and clearing errors.
I have owned an Alfa Rome 147 Selespeed for about 8 years now and unfortunately only for about 4 of those years I had blissful driving then the Actuator literally blow a gasket or an O-ring and started to leak everywhere I was going throw gallons of Slespeed Oil to keep it on the road once a day I was refilling and priming the system, so I went to an Alfa garage to finally get it sorted. They told me a sensor was blown on the actuator instead and offered me a second a new sensor (I didn't know the O-ring was the issue yet) so I said go ahead €400 repair but I was thinking cheaper than a new Actuator which was €1800 at the time with a strictly 12-month guaranty, I can tell you this did not resolve the issue. came into collect my case I was told the sensor didn't fix it and that they had a second-hand actuator that the could install that was cheaper a should fix it, 1 month in the garage I get a call saying that I owe them €600 for the work so far and that they couldn't fix the car. I can say I haven't been that angry for a while. I eventually got the car back from this official Fiat / Alfa Romeo garage I settled with them €200 for the work but and after driving the car there I now brought the car home on the back of a truck, I have been working on it myself but hit a brick wall I got it working with a second-hand Actuator that I found for €500 and fitted it then I noticed the lads in the garage had tried splicing wires in the loom picked a new one for €20 and now I have 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Neutral and Reverse but I am missing gears. In all and all I haven't driven it in for years and it's been sitting in the one spot for the last 4 years, it's so depressing I currently drive a 2019 Alfa Romeo Mito SS now but I do miss how driving the eld 147 in anger.
Hey - have you got the software ? Multiecuscan? It could be the clutch engagement position - it’s meant to be 28 to 28.5 ml - then do a calibration. Believe me it’s worth doing . When I put mine back Together it was doing similar things to yours - I did a clutch bleed and then did a selespeed reset - keep at it - so many times I wanted to throw the car to scrap - you have another car and thus nothing to loose . It could be one of the Pins that have come loose from the sensors - grab a second hand actuator and pull it apart and back together?? Give it a shot !! For me it’s like leggos for grown ups

Nice informative video! How is the drive on the selespeed? Is it less fun? Do you get bored of it at some point and desire a manual? I'm thinking about a 147 Selespeed but I hesitate..
GTV2.0 V6TB hi - thanks for watching , if you can’t drive a manual car and want the paddle shift experience, then a selespeed is a nice touch on a car like the 147. Manual will always be more fun if you are use to a sporty hatch. The selespeed gives you a fun drive without the hassle of a clutch pedal. If the actuators and pump are working properly, then it’s not a bad car. I bought the car to learn about the selespeed system and it’s been a lot of fun so far :)
most SS issues are from the poor maintaince -not change the SS hidraulic oil for a looooong times, oil would be dirty and oxidized wich can kill the pump too easy due the higher worn -not calibrating the clutch -...and not change the oil into the gearbox at 25k miles or 40k kms O rings for the actuators are not expensive you can also get them from a local hidraulic part store nearby you for really very-very cheap, if you know the correct size of them use the Viton types, they are better
It’s because one of the sensors is not sitting correctly or maybe something is not connected. Get the multiscan software for Alfa and do a diagnosis. The car won’t allow itself to start unless all is in order - get the software and diagnose what is not correct with the system - might be one sensor?

@@mbrunocondello Speaking about the Selespeed, do you have to shift the transmission in th same manner as those affordable motorcycle gearboxes commonly found in Thailand and Bali (let off the throttle + upshift/downshift)?
very enjoyable
Hey - thanks for watching 👌
You are a Genius mate 😃
What does the city button do?
Hellboy hey - thanks for watching- the city function turns it into an auto style gearbox so you don’t need to change gears - but it’s not as set and forget as a conventional auto gearbox- it still rolls when you start up hills - thanks again bro
I bought the car to learn about the selespeed system and it’s been a lot of fun so far :)
most SS issues are from the poor maintaince
-not change the SS hidraulic oil for a looooong times, oil would be dirty and oxidized wich can kill the pump too easy due the higher worn
-not calibrating the clutch
-...and not change the oil into the gearbox at 25k miles or 40k kms
O rings for the actuators are not expensive
you can also get them from a local hidraulic part store nearby you for really very-very cheap, if you know the correct size of them
use the Viton types, they are better
Thanks for watching bro - I’ve got an SMG BMW at the moment- very similar- fun drive as well
Bro can’t you just change the motor of the pump
You can buy the brushes off eBay and even repair it - but I choose just to swap them out - easier but yes you can fix just the motor of the pump
How you got a Alfa to work is beyond me.
Great Vid
"I was lucky enough to get my hands on a few of them, some I bought... some I didn't...."
;)
Ha ha ha ha !! Thanks for watching :)
Junkyard? You mean wreckers
Yes - wreckers but some people call them junk yards - thanks for watching 👌
I knew it ,that it would be the fricken sensor 🤓
I fit gearbox nw it's not crancking
I fit gaerbox now it's not cracking
It’s because one of the sensors is not sitting correctly or maybe something is not connected. Get the multiscan software for Alfa and do a diagnosis. The car won’t allow itself to start unless all is in order - get the software and diagnose what is not correct with the system - might be one sensor?
