I know it’s been 2 yrs but…… The markings on the warhead, the first line “40 破” means “40mm HEAT”. The second line “黑94” means it was produced in a military factory in Heilong Jiang Province, in 1994. As for the third line I really don’t have any idea😢 Great video, the most detailed one on RPG warheads that I’ve seen on TH-cam so far!
@@Stray03 I’m not 100% sure what “94” means here, so plz take it with a grain of salt. It could be the year 1994, or the number/codename for that specific factory. And just out of curiosity, I watched another vid of yours on RGO grenades. Is it possible to screw a UDZ onto RPG warheads like this one? Saw some pictures of Ukrainian made RPG warheads with UDZs, and I was like wtf is that🤣
Threads are a different pitch but the UDZ is slightly smaller it will fit into the hole. Pretty tightly. With one or 2 layers of electrical tape you could probably get it to screw into the threads enough to hold it in place. I don't know why anyone would make a suicide machine like that though. Lol.
@@Stray03 It looks like they’re trying to come up with a reliable way to detonate the warhead on their suicide drones. Haven’t seen any further evidence of them actually being used since that picture, so I guess it didn’t work very well…Thanks for your info anyway.
@lukasmuller0421 I'm not sure that would be good for anything other than low dropped improvised munitions, I'm sure I've seen one of those fuzes on a tm62 mine that was dropped once. I've noticed a lot of looped wire initiators on the suicide drones. Only problem would be AT use, where you need a sensitive fuze so it doesn't cause the drone to turn before firing, while not being too sensitive so that a quick turn doesn't set it off.
This video was sweet! So much good info and your right, many people get the PG-7 completely wrong. You did and excellent job explaining in detail. I have a project that's kind of a bastard child of a PRIG, AT-4 and RPG-7 I just need to test fire it. I am extremely pleased with the final design. Your videos helped a ton finding information and learning about the tech involved. I'll make a video shortly on it, hopefully this weekend I'll be able to fire it and get some footage to share
@@Stray03 I will definitely let you know when I upload the vid. I'll give a walk thru similar to what you do when you discuss projects. I'll try to make it as detailed as possible. The operation is very similar to the prig but it uses rocket propelled, fin stabilized, inert projectiles. The fins fold to save space and it came out very sleek looking. The sights are similar to that of an AT-4 and also shares a similar folding foregrip. If I can figure out how to upload photos to TH-cam today I'll post a pic of it
Sorry, i like the video, you are just trying to inform folks- good on you for it brother. I am an Iraq and Afghan infantry vet and got to shoot one at the range once. Cool and pretty sweet. I remember being told that it turns into the wind - some of those afghani guys were really good with them thangs! They didnt cause nearly as much anti-personnal damage as one would expect.
Yeah The standard pg7 is designed as an anti tank weapon so not made for killing people, will still do it if you are close enough though, or unlucky. In Ukraine both sides are strapping extra shrapnel onto the sides where the explosives are to try to give them a dual role. There are specific heads for those that are also designed to be AP only they are 40 mm diameter.
To be fair I watch all videos on TH-cam at 2x so I'm not going to complain about that. I spoke very slow on my earlier ones and spoke faster as time went on. Still I wouldn't watch myself at 1x either
Sorry man, it's an interesting subject, and I like that you are laying all this out for folks. I remember finding these and the rear parts in cardboard (actually the ones in Iraq were covered in the same kind of plastic as shotgun shells) and we were trained on their use by thr Iraqi Army - which was funny. I liked working with those guys - they're probably all killed by ISIS. Fucking Obama!
I’ve seen the vehicles with the cable chain link looking deal for the rpg, if it stops the piezoelectric nose, why doesn’t it still go off when the 900 meter self destruct fuse go off?
Never really thought about it but one of 3 things I would assume happen in that situation. The head still impacts the tank and destroys itself from the impact force so the fuze can't function. The fuze fires blowing up the shaped charge which is either caught in the netting or partially damaged by the tank impact so although what is left can still explode it doesn't have any effect on the tank. And third fuze is also damaged or no longer has explosive to set off and so will still explode but not set off explosives. Either way if it explodes in the wrong spot the people in the tank are safe. There is a specific distance that a shaped charge has to be from a tank when exploding. Without that stand off it is unlikely to cause any damage to the inside of the vehicle.
Randomly showed up on a site I check once in a while, so I grabbed it as soon as I saw it. I guess someone sold it to them and I saw it at the right time.
Could it be that a spinning shaped-charge is less effective because the centrifugal force saps some of the energy developing the copper jet penetrator?
That seems to be the idea. The holes formed tend to be larger in diameter and shallower. What exact mechanism causes it and why it is affected so much I dont know.
Yeah the weapon slows down the spin to a point where there is no problem. but that is why shaped charges dont do well in spin stabilized projectiles like anti tank guns.
The rocket nozzles seem to be sealed with some kind of resin for weather proofing? I'm curious how easy to puncture/remove those seal. I also want to know more about the rocket engine delay activated mechanism.
They are what seems to be little metal caps (brass/copper) that get blasted off on ignition. There is a video that explains that part in detail. He does a much better job than I can, which is why I quickly went over it and just explained stuff his video didnt. th-cam.com/video/7KOcuzHJSAE/w-d-xo.html
IRAM munitions are showing up in The Eastern Front of Ukr. They look like regular RPG 7 motors attached to (?) 82 mm mortar bombs with adaptors.
