Thanks for another great video! One suggestion is to explain the flies you are using and your rod and leader setup. It looks like a euro setup but I am not sure. It would really help a novice like me. Keep the videos coming!
Another great one with no distracting music, just the sounds of the stream, this approach is so much better, thanks. I've never seen a wild rainbow in the flesh, all of the ones that I have seen have been stocked fish from reservoirs and they're a lot bigger. About 3lbs, in the UK the reservoirs are stocked for fishermen on a put and take basis. Looking forward to the next, for us foreigners it would be nice to know where you were fishing.
Thank you! Glad you like the no music videos. I’m fortunate to have lots of wild rainbow fishing here in the east coast of the US! They’re a lot of fun
So enjoyable and evocative for me. Your streams are paradoxical for me. So alike in some ways (plunge pools, runs, lots of overhanging trees with roots popping out on the banks), yet so very different. Your Brook trout are native, rainbows introduced. On my home waters it's reversed. My streams look Western US and yours look very Eastern. When I see the beauty of yours it reminds me of a wonderful book from the Sierra Club with photos by the brilliant Eliot Porter and quotes from one of my all time muses, Henry David Thoreau. Title is "In Wildness is the Preservation of the World." Tight line that is my pole star: "Time is but the stream I go a fishing in." Love your work. Bro hug from NorCal...Dave
Never tried fly fishing looks fun tho I've caught rainbow trout off marshmallows in lakes but never went after the rod just yet this makes me wanna try it thanks
Great video, that’s a beautiful stream with beautiful fish! So my goal this spring is to catch a big brown (20 plus hopefully) I got me some circus peanuts, Cheech leeches, Lazer legals, big and small dungeons, as well as some other nice streamers. I’ve caught trout on dries and euro nymphing but never on a streamer. I need a big brownie in my life. Lol.
What kind of leader or line do you use? I’ve tried 3x-6x and the line keeps breaking off on the fly. Like I haven’t even went fishing yet. Been practicing casting and been really good with it. But yet the fly breaks off the line and I tie it very very good
I remember fishing this one creek at times a river as a kid beautiful Trout lived there went back many years later the whole place was polluted fish had sores all over them sad it also was a awesome swimming hole too nasty now.
Another awesome video. I have a few questions: What size point nymph are you using? I assume it has to have some weight to get down in some of those runs. What percentage of the takes do you actually feel, and what percentage do you rely on the sighter? Thanks for sharing
What a creek!! Those hard to get to spots are where its at. What kind of set up line wise do you use on your fly rod for these small streams? I ultralight spin fish small streams/creeks, but have been thinking of branching out. Keep the great videos coming!!
I have never understood, especially with catch and release. Why do you horse the fish in?Why don't you let it fight and have so fun?Isn't that what it's all about sport
If you did 7.5 miles total in that terrain, you don't need to apologize for anything! I think I prefer the no-music to music now. Care to share any specs on your equipment and bugs? Really enjoyed this! Thanks again!
I’m from WV born and raised. Fayette co and i’m new to fly fishing just got a rod cause of your videos. I’m really looking to get into some brookys and trout fishing but I can’t even cast my 9’ rod 5 feet. not sure if my leader is too long or rod. any beginners advice you can give if i’m trying to do what you do?
What kind of nets do you use, are they available online anywhere? Looking for something lightweight with a slightly longer handle to easily slide in n out of my sling pack net holster
I like your reel! I have the "Animus " by Ross reels it's a beautiful reel. What brand is your Rod I'm curious I've never seen one quite like it I'm a cork handle guy
If you're ever in southwestern PA get a hold of me. I would love to take you to an awesome public trout stream and a secret private stream with natives.
Also if you guys feel froggy one day come to WNC and I’d be happy to show some beautiful water. The state record for trout were all caught within 30 minutes of me plus some really beautiful natives can be found close by as well as some great quiet lakes for trout. Be happy to float ya.
I’m getting back into fly fishing. Your videos are amazing and have me so motivated. Do you have any suggestions for a rod and reel to get back into the sport? East Tennessee is the location, looking for a 4 weight.
A 4 wt is a great choice! Especially for that area. Anything from a 3wt to a 5 wt would probably be best. Depends a lot on what you plan on fishing. As far as brands go, all of the major brands have pretty good budget options. It’s best if you can go hold them and see which one you like best!
Im new to fly fishing. Just a quick question on how to cast in an area with thick brush and trees around. Not many videos explaining it. Just used to seeing the basic fly cast. Might be a stupid question but just seeing if you could answer it
I mean there’s no crazy explanation for it. You basically have to cast whatever way your environment allows. Bow and arrow casts can be really good if you’re fishing small streams!
Seems like your buddies never catch any fish….😂 if it was me and my buddy and the nymph rig was the only thing working we’d be going fish for fish. Just saying.
Scott slayed 😂 he caught just as many fish as I did I think. He just doesn’t have a GoPro. I rarely add fish catches of my buddies because 1) I’m not usually filming them and 2) the footage of me filming them usually isn’t the best.
I recently got given 500meters of 0.148 nylon, its so fine it's not even a millimeter deep on the spool, it's super strong nearly invisible line, what would you use it for?? I imagine it would be good tippet/leader.
When you dead drift with a tight line how exactly achieve the dead drift part and detect the bite because I have trouble knowing where to put my rod to see or feel that bite without moving or disturbing the natural presentation of the flies. So, what are some tips you could tell a beginner for tight line drifting? By the way, beautiful trout! Love your videos!
@@calebwier3139 do you know what material it is? Hooks always stuck to my mesh net, when I switched to rubber I did not have the problem of getting the hook stuck
You're telling the trout to relax, the fish is thinking how am I supposed to relax when you stab me in the face with a hook and you pulled me out of my universe
Thank you! Really enjoy your videos. I like seeing fish swim away under the surface. Nice! Take care!
Glad you’re enjoying the videos!
Beautiful stream. No music fishing videos are tops! Really enjoy your videos. Always well done and informative as well as just fun to watch. Thanks!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos!

Thank you for another wonderful adventure - a pretty amazing stream, to be sure! A most enjoyable video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
this scenery is so beautiful. Makes me miss the East Coast.
The east coast has some incredible gems... thanks for watching!
Love the Brookies!
Beautiful spot!
This is a noice video man you always catch a bunch a lot of big beautiful fish and small beautiful fish. Keep up the good work!

As always awesome video!!! Please continue this simple and yet effective video!!
I definitely will! Thanks for watching!
Awsome video as usual thanks for putting out such awsome vids enjoy them so much. Cant wait to get up in those mountains
Glad you enjoy them!! Thanks for watching
Watching you fish those waters, makes me miss home. North Georgia was a good place to grow up and learn how to hunt and fish.
I love north Georgia! Such an awesome place. Thanks for watching
Agree, getting to the good spots can be challenging but well worth the hike. Enjoyed 👍
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!!
Good catch at 2:27. I like your rod, seems pretty well doing.
Beautiful area 👍🏻Love your videos
Awesome Video Brother 🤛 Beautiful Trout

Sounds like you’ve got the right flies! Just have to put in the time and figure out where those big fish tend to live in your area! Good luck man!

I really wanna say this is a back country wv stream looks very familiar to me
Probably does 😂 it’s very popular. If you fish wild / native trout you’ve either been here or heard of it

Thx

Sweet video, that creek you are fishing is beautiful. Just curious are you euro nymphying, also what rod would you suggest?
Yes I am! And I’m using an Adams, but it’s pretty expensive. I guess it depends on your budget 😂

I’m from wv too. Always wanted to blue line. Haven’t a clue where to start
Go to the national forest! Hard to go wrong in there.
@@hardmanfishing good idea thanks
"just eat it bro, it's not that serious" lol
Sometimes you have to talk to the fish lol
What type of fly line are you using? Looks like a full sinking line....? Which is unusual given the small stream conditions.
Nope! I’m using a mono rig so there really isn’t much fly line involved unless I take the entire 15-20 foot rig off the reel.
@@hardmanfishing Wait, so you're essentially using a 15-20' leader??
30" minimum on rainbows in Kenai river, perhaps you should get out more often
Why do you prefer that mesh net over a rubber coated one?
hooks can't hook into the net
@@calebwier3139 do you know what material it is? Hooks always stuck to my mesh net, when I switched to rubber I did not have the problem of getting the hook stuck
@@PAwader oh I read it wrong my bad, mesh I'm pretty sure rubs less of their outer slime coating as well but hook get caught in mess
It’s rubber coated mesh so it’s the best of both worlds. Doesn’t hurt the fish, doesn’t get the hook stuck, but is more durable.
@@hardmanfishing thank you
Can you make a video of your euro line setup ?
I want a pool please

Nope! This was my buddy Scott. Although Andrew and I have something planned soon
What Creek?
You going to review that rod or what?
Are you only Euro nipping in this video?
Yep!
could you show us how to tie a double nymph
like the leader for them
And no, those are not big rainbow.Trout, I'm from Northern California and big rainbow trout.Eye catch are 3-5 pounds
You call that a creek? That's a river around here!
It is by definition a creek, so yes 😂Although there are much smaller creeks
Where is the river your at
Tiny fish
I honestly looks like u have never used a fly rod before
Thanks! 🙏🏼
This whole video just makes me laugh. It's a joke it's a little tiny menos.Your catch and they're not even worth watching catch
Relax my dude 😂 it’s not that serious. If you don’t like the video move on! Also consider using auto correct or something
They are small
But they have a big spirit
Dude c'mon now, at least detail your kit and give your viewers a reasonable idea of where you're fishing.
