      On the cinnamon coffee, if you use a drip coffee maker, you can sprinkle the cinnamon into the grounds before you brew it and it’ll give the cinnamon flavor without the clumps that form when you put it directly into the already brewed drink. My brother worked at Starbucks and gave me that tip. It works for any type of dry spice you want to add including pumpkin spice!

    Jennifer, I have not touched base with you in a long while. I fought my original cancer with a healthy vegetarian diet and intermittent fasting...it worked. However, another type of cancer (unrelated) showed up just to prove the fight is not yet over. Bring it on! It's breast cancer this time. I continue my fasting routine, feel great, have energy. Am fortunate that the chemo does not bother me because I have had so many infusions. Right now I have no active cancer and perfect lab values. Before starting a fasting lifestyle I weighed 195, now 110. Though most doctors give cancer patients months or years of life, recently it was estimated that I should have a decade or more. I plan to enjoy every single day and thank the Lord for walking by my side. Thank you for continuing to promote fasting.

      My eating window is 11 am to 7 pm. I almost always break my fast with vanilla yogurt (Oikos Triple Zero) and a protein drink (Muscle Milk 100 calorie drink). I don't actually count calories but I eat healthier, focusing on protein (low fat cheese sticks, almonds, fruit) and then whatever I want for dinner, but a smaller portion.

    I am so pleased that you continue to make your intermittent fasting videos. I live this lifestyle and find that it is very effective for me. I have recently pushed my breakfast later into my morning and sometimes combine it with my lunch simply because I am no longer hungry for breakfast until about 11:00 am. My eating window is still 8 hours long but we have dinner in our home around 7:00 pm so this works well. I have always struggled having an early dinner with my husband because he commutes into a big city. I’m sure many of your followers can relate. Anyway, all this to say that if breakfast / lunch can be pushed to 11:00 am , then dinner can occur at 7:00 pm and you will have an 8 hour eating window. I’m glad a found a routine that works for me because I feel so good when I eat and fast 16:8. Thank you again! 🍁

    Hi Jennifer. I wanted to thank you for doing the video with Dr. Mindy. I got her book and it's great. I have been doing the 16:8 intermittent fasting for over a year (inspired by you) and while it helped me in so many ways, I had hit a plateau with weight loss.
    I started Dr. Mindy's 30 day reset plan 15 days ago and I have already seen remarkable results. I have lost 1 inch in my waist, 1 inch in my hips, and 2 inches in my bust.
    After the first 24 hour fast, I noticed all the swelling in my ankle was gone (I am 4 months post ankle surgery).
    Thank you again Jennifer!

    I just started intermittent fasting two weeks ago, on advice from my doctor. She challenged me to get my cholesterol lowered by January of next year to avoid going on a Staten. I will admit, I have always been a little skeptical about the intermittent fasting, however, I am amazed at the amount of energy I had after just three days of 18/6 eating! I’m focusing on intermittent fasting as a “health plan“ with the side effect of weight loss. I’ve always enjoyed your videos and menus and your focus on making meals beautiful.

    As it is Autumn where you and most of your viewers are, Jennifer, or as you would say, Fall, I would like to share my recipe for Autumn Fruit Compote. Plums are the basic fruit, to which you can add sliced apple, thinly sliced orange, pears if you have them, maybe some prunes or dried apricots. Put the fruit into a saucepan with just a little water, add some ground Chinese Five Spice and one Star Anise. Simmer until the fruit is really soft. Serve with yoghurt or ricotta cheese or an egg custard made in a little ramekin dish. It is a warming, spicy cosy flavour for cooler mornings and makes good use of autumn fruits.

I've checked out some of the more intense IF/K channels and while helpful they often seem too extreme and too much into promoting products. Maybe a little rice, like very little, but sometimes that little bit really adds to the overall meal. I'm doing intermittent fasting...usually 16:8...eating ketovore (and some days, I'm total carnivore), and on the weekends, I generally go OMAD. I've managed to drop 25 pounds of beta-blocker weight since May 27th. I ordered LMNT before I started because Delta COVID put my heart into A-Fib in September 2021, and despite trying 3 different beta-blockers to regulate my heart rhythms, I'd still bust out into A-Fib 1-3 times per week. My electrophysiologist did a cardiac ablation December 2021. It was a total success...but the beta-blocker weight wouldn't budge. My electrophysiologist didn't want me to go keto and mess up my heart rhythms when my electrolytes dropped as is normal on keto...but the LMNT prevented that! Yay!!!

Yes, and messy! 😅 However, I’ve found that cooking them in the slow cooker on high for a few hours with 2 or 3 cups of water is such an easy method. Then, just slip the skins off and eat! One of the things I love about intermittent fasting is that you can have cheat days and then go right back into it. My weight loss has been very gradual, but unlike weird diets I have tried in the past, the weight I lose stays lost. I love a glass of wine with my meals, but now just have wine on weekends. Other than that, the only thing I have changed is the time when I eat, 2 - 9 p.m. I drink coffee and tea before 2. I love a late lunch at 2 and late dinner, usually 7:30 or 8, so those times work for me.

    Hello, Jennifer. This was a lovely and useful video. I am thinking of starting Intermittent fasting this month and beyond the health benefits, one of my reasons is more aesthetic -- my life needs more structure, as well as beauty, grace, and calm. I will return to teaching later this month and am thinking that a pretty lunch AND teatime in my office would add that structure and enjoyment to my workday. I am a college professor and have the freedom to decorate my office as I wish. Instead of the modern, stark environment provided by my college, I am considering bringing in some small furniture pieces, pictures, and decor to soften the space. I will certainly bring dishes and linens from home so I can set a nice table for lunch and tea. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions to elevate the space? Best wishes from Washington, Lisa

    Hi Jennifer, I’d really appreciate your no sugar apple crisp recipe; I’m hoping to try that soup and dessert!
    A cold dampened my appetite and I started eating an early lunch but not too heavy as I take a nap b/c of Lyme disease. Then I have a healthier treat when I wake up and dinner. The afternoon treat keeps me from feeling deprived of dinner dessert. Down 9 pounds in a month.

    Big fan of bone broth. I find it soothing and satiating. I break my fast with a mug daily. Dr Mindy is so good, a real gem in women's fasting. Scale isn't moving too much for me but the inches are, so I'll take it. IDK why beets get such a bad wrap when they are so yummy. Thank you for sharing 🌷😊💕

  • @jenniferb4118

    I have a question I've been wondering about for awhile..... when you mention you "didn't fast" on a particular day, what is meant by this? Since you're eating three meals, plus teatime, where does the non-fasting part come in? Do you just mean you're opening up your eating window so it's more than 8 hours, or adding snacks, or what? I've heard others mentioning the idea of a non-fasting day, but since I normally eat three meals and no snacks, I don't exactly know how this would be different than a "fasting" day. Can anyone shed some light on this?
    Your videos are where I first heard about intermittent fasting and I've been doing it about 2 years, and I can't imagine eating any other way, I love it. Thank you, I love these videos!

      I think she doesn’t restrict herself to a specific eating window. She mentioned this in a previous video. I think she said if she feels like it she will include an extra bedtime snack

      She has said in other videos that non fasting days mean a later dinner, for example going out to a restaurant at 7.00 pm, or eating a healthy snack before bed.

      OMAD isn’t healthy for anyone long term. Dr. Mindy’s books are really good for anyone even though they’re geared towards women. She does promote LMNT, but Redmond salt will also work.

      Some. It kind of depends on how much water you use, but I find it very nice, and hydrating. I find myself craving it!

  • @AC-ci2og
    @AC-ci2og ปีที่แล้ว +4

    LMNT contains 1000mg of sodium per packet. Everyone should check with their doctor if this is safe for them. Most nutrients we need can come from a healthy diet and many people get a lot of sodium already in their diet. In my opinion if you are not an athlete you probably don't need expensive supplements like this.

    Intermittent fasting is a diet....you starve for a period of time.

    • @21972012145525
      @21972012145525 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, but she doesn’t starve herself of any specific foods.

    • @joannathesinger770
      @joannathesinger770 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Starve is inaccurate. You go without food from dinner until breakfast--break your fast--but you aren't "starving". In-between meals, you fast. In fact, any time you aren't shoving food in your mouth, you are fasting.
      Do you think that when you go without food from dinner to breakfast you are dieting? No! You are spouting a bunch of nonsense...mainly because you aren't using your brain.

    • @Noyb2020

      Eating during a period of 8 hours is not starving it’s how everyone used to eat decades ago, before it was called fasting and made into a fad.

      No-one who eats three meals and a snack every day is starving.

    • @hypnosisforhappiness
      @hypnosisforhappiness 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Eating three meals plus a desert with tea every day is hardly starving. It's not even fasting per se, it's window restricted eating.
