    I too am the handywoman of our household. I was about to give up after watching other videos. Then I watched yours and the comment that encouraged me was how to use a wet finger and also homeowners don’t need to be afraid…… just use a wet sponge to clean up.!
    Oh my goodness that made all the difference. I am thanking the Lord for you.

      I cringed when he said it, but I get it, he was fumbling for words, it happens. Also, I see what you're implying and I agree, thanks to the internet, most able-bodied adults could reasonably tackle this and do it correctly. That said, in my house the load is usually shared equally, in both the physical and emotional aspects. Physical load, includes things like chores, prepping, security. From those, specific jobs are reserved for me, because I like to do them, e.g., construction, taxes, and yard work. There's also some of my tasks I don't like, such as laundry, vacuuming, and mopping; I'll admit, I've looked up "How-to" for all those even though I hate them, but still do it because we're a team. We never complain, gloat, or rub it in their face when one picks up the slack of the other.

    Hello TileCoach this is PERFECT thank you for sharing. Is this ok to do in the corner of a shower too? I have the tiny square tiles on the floor of my shower and a few of them in the back corner adjacent to the wall have cracked grout so water is leaking out of the shower and into the wall. I have opened the wall up and the restoration company dried everything up and cleaned the mold off the studs in the wall. They wanted to just re-caulk the shower (and charge me $500 for it), I told them I'm good I'll do it myself. :). Also, do I need to put the clear caulk over this in the corners of the shower since it's going to get a lot of moisture unlike the backsplash you do in the video or is this caulk water tight?

    Best Practices for wall corners and floor to wall corners in a shower. Do you 1) grout and leave them until they crack? 2) grout and follow up with grout caulk? 3) just apply grout caulk? Hi. Great video! DIYer. I have a "maintenance joint" between my acrylic alcove bathtub to tile surround (used by 2 adults to shower). The grout is starting to crack at the joint. I was advised not to use silicone caulk over the existing grout because the caulk does not stick to the grout and doing so would promote mold growth underneath the silicone grout. Is "silicone" caulk different from "siliconized acrylic" caulk mentioned in your video? Can I use the siliconized acrylic grout over the existing grout at the joint (not taking all the grout out of the joint since there isn't a lot of loose grout)? Thank you!

    • @omninulla9472
      @omninulla9472 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do what he did in the video. Grout should not be used where the floor meets the wall because it cracks. Caulking is flexible and won't crack.

    • @erikaslt
      @erikaslt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Remove the grout carefully. I would not use a razor knife in the wet area. Just incase you puncture the water proofing membrane by accident. And fill it with caulk. There should be no grout. Also do the same if you have two walls meeting up in corner. Should be caulked also.

    I've used "grout caulk" before and I never treated it like a grout. I always applied it like a caulk. The stuff dries on you pretty quickly compared to 100% silicone so I can see why you use a little water to clean up, which is something you wouldn't do with caulk. Good to know

    Great video. Informative and you covered all the details. Question: will this approach work on the joint between the wall tile and the top of the tub?
