Thank you. Your video helped me repair the caulk behind my kitchen sink, the most visible place in the kitchen. This was my first attempt ever and it turned out great. Scraping out the old caulk and the taping with painters tape was very important. Note that he removes the tape immediately. I did this and it looks great.
Nice video, detailed! Just 4 months ago our warranty work was done on our house. They had to grout the kitchen counter top. Here we are 4 months later, and it already needs doing again. Based on this video, I will do it MYSELF! Thanks
You make it look easy. Please warn people not to leave the tape on until the caulking dries. I did this and when I pulled it off half the caulking came with it leaving me with a mess.
This video was awesome! I tried to do it previously and didn't have the tape. My lines were messy so I didn't complete the task. I thought I'd try again and your video is the answer. Thank you 😊
Thanks much! I need to do this on all my kitchen countertops. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong color grout caulk, and I have to remove it, and re-apply a different color. Great instructional video - I think I can do this.
Great, best video on TH-cam on this topic. It's evident that a caulking gun is important. What kind of caulk product do you recommend for doing this in a shower stall? Thank you.
Great DIY! One step missed though not to be critical but helpful, when done caulking, pull the medal tab on the caulk gun which will stop the caulk from oozing out.
Hi Dave, we would recommend that you remove all discolored grout and replace with fresh grout. Please email social@hayden-homes.com if you have any additional questions!
We do recommend removing existing grout/caulking in areas that are cracked. If there are areas that are not cracked, you can certainly leave those in place and monitor. Thank you for your question, Ryan!
What do you do if your removing very old very hard caulk from tile corner? It won’t cut and trying to chisel it seems like it could break the tile. Thanks
If a structure has significant weather seal issues (major draft) and other cracks, would excess moisture indoors contribute to caulk cracking? In some areas in my rental house, the cabinets look as if they may fall off the wall! This video was easy to follow for the layman, like myself! Thanks for the informative tips, my rental needs lots of caulking in every place imaginable! - side note on the production side of your video. I watched with headphones and while the background music is nice and provides a professional experience, the “main volume” needs adjusting. For me, it would accelerate to high decibels while you were not speaking, but dramatically shift when you began to speak again. Not a big deal, just a side note!
The terminology used is a little confusing to me. Our installer used grout to finish in the inside of our tub tiles. It almost immediately started cracking and coming out. After researching I thought that a silicone-type of caulking should have been used. So I want to take out the old stuff and replace it with the right product. Which product do I use?
Actually I just saw some of the video and I figured out why everybody's confused that stuff that you were showing in your video was grout and again that stuff's never supposed to be grout tile men do it all the time it's the lazy way out for tile man to end his job but if he's good he will pull out a expensive material called silicone and he will apply it but usually at the end of a tile job he's very tired and he wants to go home and he can fake anyone out with grouting that last line and and he does and that's what happened to you
Your demeanor was so supportive and kind as you were explaining how to replace the caulking! Thank you!

4 months!that's outrageous I'd have their ass repairing it for free
Excellent job! Really liked the usage of the blue tape to create those lines have not seen that done with caulking and that was a great help
Great video! I ordered supplies you used from Amazon and just perfectly replaced the silicone grout in my kitchen!
You make it look easy. Please warn people not to leave the tape on until the caulking dries. I did this and when I pulled it off half the caulking came with it leaving me with a mess.
Great tip! Thanks 👍
Exactly. I made the same mistake. 😆
Yep. Me three. Need to pull tape early, way before it dries.
Yes, pull the tape away early on as shown in the video.
This video was awesome! I tried to do it previously and didn't have the tape. My lines were messy so I didn't complete the task. I thought I'd try again and your video is the answer. Thank you 😊
Thank you!! Perfectly explained and you made it look super easy as well. I’m ready to attack my grout. Thanks again
Great and informational video! Helped me a lot with removing and replacing the caulk around my upper kitchen cabinets and ceiling.
iv done this my self around the sink and stove and its so good now!!
Thanks much! I need to do this on all my kitchen countertops. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong color grout caulk, and I have to remove it, and re-apply a different color. Great instructional video - I think I can do this.
I love you thank you for saving me tons of money and making me feel confident that I can do it myself my kitchen looks great thank you so much

Thank you for explaining this in such detail. You made it look easy ☺️
What would I do with a if the grout is more grout or mortar and a little difficult to remove? It’s not the silicone kind. Thank you
Great video! Thanks! How do you remove the caulk if it's not rubbery anymore? Thanks.
Thanks for the tape trick, worked real well!
Perfect video I needed to see!
Thank you for this precise and easy to follow tutorial!
EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT JOB!!

Great video. And under 3 min.
Thank you for this clear, straightforward video.
Thank you! I'll go try it tomorrow.
Thank you so much for your video.
Wow, loved how you made it So easy and motivating!
Super video! Thank you
Thank you 😊
Thank you for a great lesson.
Fantastic !
What was the grout you used could see label
Can you use that caulk over other grout that has become discoloured. Or is it best to use bleach and a scrub brush on those areas
Hi Dave, we would recommend that you remove all discolored grout and replace with fresh grout. Please email social@hayden-homes.com if you have any additional questions!
They make tools a lot easier for removing the caulk that won't scratch
Great idea !!!
What is the name of the blue tape where I can buy?
Do you remove all grout or just the cracked pieces? Because not all my grout is cracked, just in certain areas

I think use a sharper knife tool.
@@gamerwhiz6847just Google a grout knife. Anything similar to that should just do the trick for you.
good job!
How about use CLEAR sealant caulks in kitchen?
No, I had it done in my old kitchen and in couple of months it ends up looking gross. Avoid clear at all cost.
Nice!

I missed it: what to of caulk
Bueatiful
Isn’t there a caulking removal tool??
Grout knife?
I'm not sure I get the terminology it's either crowd or caulking the line between the tub and the tile is caulking should never be grout
Its NOT grout, its caulking

You never showed a close up of the finished product. It makes me think it wasn't as smooth as it could have been.

lol wtf u talking about, what's with this nagging runon sentence?
This is so absurd. I couldn’t finish it.
