    Hello! I have been in the tile business 40 years. It looks like you are putting very wet, un-sanded grout in a joint whose width requires sanded grout. It will work for a while, but it will eventually crack and start coming out. We never use that 'bottle' method (basically a grout bag) to grout joints unless the joints are at least 3/4" wide. We use quality grout floats on joints 1/16" to 3/4". We can grout & clean about 80-100 sq ft of 12"x12" tile per hour. That method would take all day, but would be fine for a small repair. I still think the grout should be forced into the joint by a grout float to insure the grout is pushed into gaps underneath the edges/corners of the tile.

    I poured the whole grout bucket on the floor tile and added milk sticky additive. Waited for 20 minutes and scrapped the whole floor and it came up so good. In my case the tiles were an inch size so didn't feel like going through the hassle of pointing it to each and every millions of lines. Thanks for the tutorial.

    There is an even EASIER way to do that.... which I did in our new bathrooms when we ran a baseboard using the floor tile, which went up the wall. I just got out one of my large disposable pastry piping bags, filled it with the mixed grout... twist tied the top, snipped off a tiny bit from the bottom of the bag and "piped" it into the gap just as I would with cake icing! Worked with a lot less mess than with the bottle shown as you can adjust the pressure. This would work with a gallon zip bag as well and snip the corner!

      @Sucofni Sucofni I have 2 I fitted with (2) different size pipe. I mix the grout just thin enough to flow slightly. When done this way, it sets up pretty fast. You leave a little bulge on top. Then take a rubber float & press it in the joint to avoid any air pockets.
      Then all you have is a slight smear down every joint to clean up instead of the whole floor.

    I did a 4x8' mosaic (using broken ceramic tiles) concrete slab outside my casita door (I live in AZ, a casita is what we call little mother-in-law houses), and discovered the use of a grout bag that I bought at Home Depot. They're pretty cheap. It was still a little messy, but it still was better than trying to get the grout in all those grout spaces. I used the PRISM, which a company rep told me to use for spaces up to 1/2" and for outside here. Some grout spaces were a little wider and in those places I added 1/4 or 1/2" glass nuggets, like I use in my stained glass to fill in the space. Worked great, the mosaic'd slab looks great, and adds some class to an otherwise drab space.

    Nice trick! Very helpful and I love new ideas like that. I've tried multiple methods just to make the process easier. My grout bag sucks can't stand it it's like brand new but it's heavy annoying and waste material. I have to grab a shower wall today with 1/6 grout joints. I think I may use a bottle method like yours but I'll use a tip that fits my Lucas motor oil additive. I never use them anyway I just take them off so I just need to wash it off good and poked a very small hole in it but thanks for the ideas! Many ways now to make this job a lot easier and less work.

Во вторых, если так случилось то необходимо на следующий день подрезать клей просто малярным лезвием, легко удаляется. В третьих затирать нужно шпателем а не намазывать с бутылки, затирка должна затираться в щель. Оценка работы Неуд.

      @@louisanow I use the milk for mortar mixed with grout to make it super sticky and wait until it starts to firm up. Basically let's you grout over the grout. You might have to knock down high spots here and there but for the most part it sticks and doesn't just wipe off to reveal the old grout.

      It probably won't squeeze out as easy or scoop up. If you're talking about the diamond bit, it does work but not as easy. I've done it before send it grout is a lot harder to remove. Ask for the application I've never used the squeezer Tube before so that I wouldn't know. But I would imagine it's a little gritty so go figure

      What grout to use

    • @b.powell3480
      @b.powell3480 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@tiffanybest895 not sure about the grout used in the video, but if the tile space is very thin, you would use an unsanded grout, and mix it to the consistency of cake batter. For tile with a wider space between them, use a sanded grout mix, same consistency as cake batter, I just wanted to comment on using a funnel to pour the grout into the bottle to cut down on the messy way the video shows, ( you can also use a thick plastic bag to apply grout to the tile joints, use like a pastry bag, cut the corner of the bag, and slowly squeeze the grout into the joints!

    I 'Invented' this years ago. The main problem is if you make it thin enough to flow and fill the joins easily it shrinks too much. If you make it a nice consistency it gums up in the bottle.😁

      Wonder if you save the Bavk cork & body of one of those spent cork gun sticks? Fill it, cap it, put it back in the gun, & shoot the tiles? Any left in stick, easier to remove & clean than a narrow Soap bottle...
      Bit I'm hope to do this for a shower tiles with water damage, with no previous experience....hoping to remove & check without damaging the shower pan liner or anything else, with a baby grinder, no dremil tool.

      I was wondering about that. Seems like the grout should be of a consistency which would need a lot more pressure than squeezing a bottle could provide.

    très bonne méthode pour enlever des joints en mauvais état. Par contre pour refaire des joints qui tiennent dans le temps, il est préférable à mon avis de passer une couche de laitance de joint très liquide avant de procéder à la réalisation de nouveaux joints

    My house is 50 years old and I have that same ugly whitish tile with black grout. Maybe it wasn't black when it was put in but it was when I bought the house. I am 68 years old and can not get on the floor to do this kind of repair and besides if you replace with white grout it will look dirty again in no time. Another color of grout would be better I think. On the bathroom walls and floor, I took a small flathead screwdriver and scraped the dirt off the grout until it was white again, still looks good almost 6 years later.
