This video shows you how to install a front catalytic converter on your 2011-2015 Chevrolet Cruze. Catalytic converters clean impurities out of your car or truck's exhaust before pushing that exhaust out of the tail pipe to help reduce emissions pollution. If the catalyst has failed, or is clogged, it will cause problems with the running quality of your vehicle.
This repair was done on a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT 1.4L Sedan 4-Door FWD and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
    2011 Chevrolet Cruze
    2012 Chevrolet Cruze
    2013 Chevrolet Cruze
    2014 Chevrolet Cruze
    2015 Chevrolet Cruze
    Tools you will need:

Doing this job very soon on a 2012 Cruze. Very much appreciate the video. Also recommend using anti seize on the O2 sensor threads. I bought a new upstream and downstream O2 for another $60 to make sure all the parts are fresh. Original problem that burned up the cat was a PCV hose/valve that went bad and was feeding the engine too much oxygen. That caused hot exhaust and killed the cat, so that was replaced and confirmed fixed before deciding to replace the cat to fix the P0420 code. First code was a P0171 indicating the PCV issue. Always fix that first before the cat. Again, thanks for the great video and professional work.

If you’re replacing your catalytic converter might as well buy a new o2 sensor if you have the extra 80$ for it.

I got a stripped bolt. The top one that holds it to the engine. I have zero room like you do. Ugh

I thought the downstream o2 sensor was also connected to the catalytic converter?
