This looks like a good solution. I repair furniture as a mobile service, and sometimes the manufacturers send out little kits of their matching paints. They're about the size of a nail polish vile, so I wouldn't be able to use the mason jar. The solution would be too shallow at the bottom and the tube wouldln't reach it. Is there any smaller solution? Like something which would clamp onto the tube, yet still allow it to breathe? Then the mason jar could be screwed on over it. I might have to invent this.

Great explanation. What CFM compressor do i need? Will my 30 gallon 4.5 CFM work?

I need to paint a nbf 35" five drawer file cabinet. Right now it's blue but I want to paint it red. I was cleaning my shed and found this spray gun. Should I just use home depot spray cans or should I purchase a compressor and use my jar sprayer? Thank u

I’ve seen your question elsewhere…. If I were you, not already owning an air compressor, I’d just buy Rustoleum spray cans for the job. Be sure and prep the cabinet appropriately (clean and scuff sand). I used their spray cans to paint the pedestal base of a kitchen table and the 4 chairs and it worked great (several thin coats to prevent drips). Get a spray can trigger handle to make it easier on your finger.

@@futbol1972 sounds like a good deal, and now you can use it for other things, too. I just used my critter for the first time, today, and I loved it.

you need to update your website. looks like it was from the 90s. Can you add an optional long tube for the 32 oz jars as most stain come in 32oz containers?

Just add a piece of vinyl/plastic tubing to the end of the tube for larger jars.

My Critter came with a gasket to make a seal at the top of the jar. I guess it it not really necessary since the jar is open to the atmosphere anyway. Pipe cleaners are good for cleaning the tube and nozzle. Also, if you have trouble getting paint up the tube (like a thick paint) stick a pipe cleaner down the tube while the gun is assembled and there is paint in the jar. Pull the pipe cleaner up, with paint on it from the jar.. This gets paint up into the tube and nozzle. It is like priming a pump. I also use chenille stems for cleaning the tube and nozzle. They are longer than pipe clearers. If you need to thin the paint, use the appropriate solvent. I don't recommend Floetrol, because it just extends the drying time of the paint and I hate waiting.

I know this is an old video, but the facts dont age. I m saying this is a pos. You need a sprayer that can make a fan spray . Painting with anything that shoots a circular spray isnt going to put on a nice even coat. Ive sprayed custom airbrushed motor cycles. I also restored a 66 Nova and 67 Chevelle. So I know you need a fan spray. After one spray pass ,you over lap the previous pass about a 1/2 width of the fan spray. This gun wont do that. Just aim this at a will and you will get a circular pattern blob,. You are not going to get an even paint film on you project. You may get lucky, but with all the time and money spent, get something thats designed for proper spraying. Why not just spit some paint through a straw! You can buy a cheap touch up gun at harbor freight, and when you are done, its cheap enough that you could just throw it away, instead of cleaning it. Id guarantee youll get better results vs this cheap ass gizmo.

This is a specialty spray gun for small wood projects with a lot of pro woodworkers singing its praises. You make some good points though.
