I was for the first time in NO in 1953 and there was hardly any Jazz at all being played.Much Bop etc but virtually no trace of this music.How times have changed-thank goodness.
That lady dancing is the precious little Giselle Anguizola. I could watch her dance all day. You can see her tap dancing to Mahogany Stomp on another vid.

Some streets of the French quarter are often closed during events & on weekends for foot traffic. When this happens the street performers show up en masse
This music is one of the reasons I want to go to New Orleans before I die. One question though, how many musicians are killed in the street by passing cars there . :)

never been in U.s., but N. O. it's the first city i would visit. I love this...i think it's the real spirit of U.S.A.

If you go to New Orleans don't miss them. They play a lot on Royal Street in front of the Court House or in the Spotted Cat. THE BEST
