I know this might sound like a silly question but once you get the double bevel on your blade do you do anything different with the sharpening during a job or, do you sharpen the same way you shown here every time even to touch it up? I would much have preferred purchasing a service manual than trying to watch all the uninformative videos of a dude in white frame glasses trying to be a comedian. Sorry for the negativity but I paid a lot of cash for the machine. I have operated a lot of machinery in my lifetime and always fixed and worked on it with simple manuals. Thanks Again So far I am far from impressed with the piece. I hope I don't loose and eye trying to get the set screws loose.

Good luck on getting the set screws loose, must have unnecessarily used blue loctite or torqued so tight you can not get them loose. shattered two allen wrenches trying to loosen them with no luck. I found my machine to have the screws either to tight or finger tight. I highly doubt you filled a bobbin or sewed on the machine I purchased. It will not spin a bobbin to fill it. I took the winder off and can see where the rubber is burning on the disc due to not enough pressure on the rubber. I can't get the allen screws out to move the disc. I am disappointed to say the least. Thanks

great video. help. used for the first time, skiver doesn't "sound" right the grinding noise. Leather stops under foot and now I'm getting an ER7 warning . says to check motor connector or machine head? huh?

Glad to see you remake this video. I bought a 20 last winter and had to ask about the winder in the fb group After a lengthy discussion with Al, I bought a bobbin winder to save wear on the machine. Excellent investment, especially since I use a lot of thread colors.

Loved the entire episode, I had the rare pleasure to meet Bob, and spend a couple of days talking about everything under the sun, about tools, tool making as that is one of my passions as well, and life itself. Bob you are an absolute saint, and @AmandaHennessy I still can't thank you enough for your amazing hospitality to an absolute stranger. This Leatherworking world is wonderous gem, filled with the most amazing people that work for passion and the most purest things in life, and I feel nothing short of honored to have been able to meet these people in person. But now..... I might have to go visit Bob in his workshop as well, as that seems to be a pretty legendary next step. And who knows we could work together on some amazing tools, lord knows Bob will have some hidden tricks up his sleeve that I didn't even know the existence off of. Glad to see you are doing well Brother, even though I'm pretty sure you might not read this, but Ill drop you a call again some day soon

What's the actual size of the small groove ? I'm having such a hard time finding a groover that can do 1mm or less.
