Making a Leather 1911 Holster ASMR Leathercraft

- In this leathercraft video I make a 1911 holster inlayed with some interesting "scaled" designer leather hide. Just a little tooling along the edge of the loop. The inside is fully lined with milled veg tan. The leather and concho are from Tandy. The inlay patterned leather is their "Colorida Scale Printed Side". I purchased it a while back for the simple reason that I thought it looked cool.

this leatherwork is gorgeous but dont be wrong, many leathercrafters can do a gorgeous job. but considere the price: i can do a holster at that level, but i just cant sell it to its real price, because i dont have the customers base who understand the work and can afford it, ( absolutely not cultural in my country) .so my holsters are never so well made, except if i do it for myself.

Wow! When I first saw the opening frame I thought, “interesting he used plywood in making this holster, I’m going to watch it.” Turned out to be what for me was an ingenious use of layers of leather. I'm just glad I'm not the only one to deal with those wide welts. Yep, pliers and the occasional stabbed finger ... and broken needle. Very nice work.

Always get excited when I see a new video from you. I like to use my drill press with either a # 23 or # 24 sewing needle instead of a drill bit. Less snag and a cleaner hole. This is on 8 to 10 ounce.
I sometimes do that. However, with pieces this thick (and glued together) I have issues with the needle sticking and pulling the leather up on the withdraw. The drill bit just makes it easier.

It's really beautiful. From someone that carries a gun every day I would definitely add a retention strap and keep the muzzle end open. That piece is a show piece for sure. The stitching on that muzzle cap is a complete pain in the ass at that angle. Very meticulous outstanding work sir.
