I wouldn't understand why my horse would get so 'wild' at certain times, but I found out that getting his stirrups shorter is getting him angrier. I later discovered that the only way to calm him down or make him 'behave' , is by talking to him. Talking and communicating with your horse is a totally helpful tip

What does ur stirrup length have to do with anything?

I swear Tucker knows how to act and what to do specific to each topic you teach- like he's acting out the topics with you.

All good ideas and thank you for saying it's ok to get off your horse! Anytime I've done so, it de-escilates the situation, I wish more people would teach this. Always love seeing Tucker 😊

Laughed out loud when he started yawning! You definitely helped him relax. 😀

So yawning means he’s relaxed? I keep reading conflicting info. I’ve been trying to learn horse language so I can better understand my neighbor’s horse (he visits me at my fence). He yawns every day!

Always love watching all of your videos, i just got my first horse on the 1st of Feb. Your videos have helped so much, by chance can you make a video about how to clean out a horses nose ? Curious since I live in AZ and my horse Rio tends to have a dusty nose lately. Can't wait to see more weekly videos !

One of my horses spooks at almost everything. I've found that pulling a horses nose and "riding it in a circle" doesn't always keep that horse under control. So many times, my horse has run off with me even though i have her nose against my leg. 😮 Disengaging the hindquarters is a MUST for control!

Greta info and I would add that at night to play relaxing nature videos on low to allow the horse to reach a very deep level of relaxation during the night. Never slap a horse. People do this all the time thinking a horse is tough but no horse likes that

Thank you so much for this video. My horse is in advanced rehab..small tear suspensory ligament left hind. We can trot but avoid circles and all movements which load the area. He has a lot of energies. Doing a lot of ground work but need to be on saddle as well as he needs to.work his body step by step on saddle too. I wonder if you have a video foe this type of situation 😊 thank you very very much 😊 🦄🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thank you! This video was mostly helpful but when you started lunging Tucker I think why he would try to trot at first is because you were holding the whip close to his back end and maybe next time you can hold out a little farther away😊😁

Lol wish I saw this before my lesson yesterday because the owner of the barn was lawnmowing and my horse was scared of it. He did a little spook and I wasn't expecting it and I almost flow over his neck. He didn't bolt, rear, or buck he just did one of those things where the like take a step and bend their knees and the turn and do something similar. I managed to stay on and then walked him out a bit and I was supposed to center for my second time but he was really scared of the mower the rest of the time. I gave lots of pats and love and then hand walked him.

I've never had any horses, but I once stopped during a bike ride to walk it while in farmland, I happened to be right outside a pasture for horses, and soon as they saw me all the horses went up and approached me, so I had a bunch of horses nosing me and nipping my hair

Hey so I was just wondering what’s the safest/best website to buy horses from. I’ve been wanting to get a horse for a while but I’m not sure what websites to trust, so could someone please tell me what’s the most recommendable website for doing so. I’m from the UK.
Thank you, and great video! :)

If there are any nearby, certified rescues that's always a good bet. Most of the horses are older or have a disability but most of not all rescues train and work with their horses and will tell you up front exactly what is needed. Usually it's cheaper too.

I my friend has a severely overgrown paddock where her horse is. I’ve known this horse for years & I think she’s only been out of the paddock a handful of times. She’s only halter trained so never ridden. Anyways we decided to take her out as a trial to see how she would react. Luckily I had the lead rope. Even though she’s been in that area for years she acted like she was in a completely different world. Nervous but was very nosey. She would spook easy & would never let me get to the head of her when walking to a different spot, which was like 5ft away. She’s got to come out but stay calm so my husband can bush hog that paddock so she can have a better area. I wanna make sure we are both safe during this progress, any advice?

i love all these tips i have a ottb mare that i got from the track and she was not treated well at the track and turned into aggressive she was moved to multiple barns as she was with me to find out where she might be happiest now she is good but she is anxious/ reactive about simple things and ground work helps her sometimes but she still rears when doing backup exercises and gives pinned ears and flared or crescent nostrils i guess giving an “attitude” about it? any tips for this??

Always love your videos! My horse is only anxious when it comes time to saddle him. He tries to rear, the vet said he doesn't suffer ulcers maybe just bad behavior. Do you have any suggestions on bad behavior when tacking?

    • @kirstyAnne-p9x
      @kirstyAnne-p9x 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Get your saddle checked. Your vet is wrong, and bad advice coming from a vet!. Bad saddle fit or bad back most likely. Horses don't react for no reason, their brains don't work like that, like people.

Equine helper can you help me- The horse I ride died. We where just starting to do cantering and it was going great and he was such a great horse. Now I am riding a different horse and I have to re lean everything because he has a bad knee so his walk/trot/and canter are all slow and I guess with his left shoulder going down more. She said I have to keep my hands higher so his head isn’t low and I have to ride with a lot of contact so the reins and very short. How do I best ride him. Also she might put me on her new 2 year old horse that’s only been broken for 2 months if he learns quickly with steering. Because he’s sweet but is somewhat green.

Let him go back to the stable, and do some circles there for a few minutes then walk in the direction you want in a easy straight line. Make the wrong thing hard and the right thing easy. Just remember to be firm but fair, you can make the wrong thing hard without being cruel 😊

They’re animals , don’t interfere , don’t try to make them do anything. No training , no targets, talk to them, if they want to connect they will, if they don’t , they won’t. Bond with them, it’s not that difficult, worse thing I’ve ever seen is “break the horse”. That means intimidate and control , that is not how to be with a horse.
