PS they need sand to help them be secure and they need a lot of space cause they are also pretty active

The problem with that is if they get out and escape into the lake then Florida will have yet another invasive species destroying the environment. Then Zach will have some serious explaining to do and would have to pay a serious fine and face possible jail time . Just by having them in that cheap kiddy pool he's already risking a lot .

Those bois are most likely Chinese soft-shells. Don't release them, that would not only be putting them and the ecosystem in danger, but it would also be illegal. I would build them a big pond with a deep layer of sand for them to bury themselves. Do your research though to make sure you're taking good care of them.
