Ruby Ghost Town - The BEST Ghost Town in Arizona

  • At the end of some of the roughest roads can be some of the most memorable places to set sights on. Places seldom touched by the masses which makes them even more special. They seem to be in the most remote locations even by todays standards. That sounds like the perfect place for us.
Ruby Ghost Town is a sight to behold, especially after the drive in. It is, in some sections, one of the roughest 14 mile roads we have taken Tonto on. He loved every minute of it and ate it up with ease.
Upon reaching the locked front gate, we were pleased to be able to get out and and let our tense shoulders relax for a few moments while we entered the code.
To enter these premises though, you need to contact them first to get a permit and code to get in the gate. After that make your way to the caretakers cabin to pay your entry fee and have at it. Find a good neutral place to park because there is plenty of walking.
Ruby is different from other ghost towns because you are allowed to go into most of the buildings to get an up close view. Inside the schoolhouse for instance items are on display for you to get a real hands on experience.
There were some incredible surprises for us while we went out exploring. We even found what remains of the cemetery out past the massive tailings pile that look like an inland beach.
This is a must visit, and you can even camp out on the grounds with your reservation, what a bonus!

You guys should be noticed and picked up by a mainstream travel / history channel. This was fascinating. The intro was so sharp. I'm gonna be viewing this one again. Love the glimpse of that old truck!

Another interesting video and explore! Looks like the place closed permanently to the public as of June 3, 2024. The kerosene heater looked like the type we used to sell at the farm store back in the 1970s.

I am very happy you have chosen to create these videos. Twenty-five years ago, I could have explored right beside you. I think now my current location will likely be my last. The upside is I can do research on the most interesting topics such as world events. And watch explorations of the American Southwest like yours.

Another fascinating adventure... That schoolroom, in particular, hit home. It must have been quite the place to be in its heyday. It's great that visitors can meander around, choosing their own interests. Thank you once again, for escorting us around that unique settlement, Andrea and Steven.🏡🙏🏻🏚🌞🤗

Hello Steve and Andrea well very interesting at the ICE factory there would be water that went into what they call the can's and the piping would have compressed ammonia that was circulate throughout the pipes these type of cans would have blocks of ice that would be 325 lb in weight. And as to the jail mystery the chamber pot was used 🤔p.s. That alone would make the people in jail think twice 😂Love Ghost towns and reliving what it was like in the spot ⛏️💰
