had one of our 2016 f-550's 65K miles intermittently doing a very rough 5-6 upshift almost like both gears were engaged for a second, did an adaptive table reset and the KAM so far so good. I have ran into delayed or too fast shifting on several 2015-2017 models with 50-80K miles and doing the adaptive and KAM resets have made the difference. thanks for all the stuff you cover on these trucks.

Plus if you need to get into the vehicle, take the gloves off and a quick wipe to get rid of the sweat soaked hands and good to go.

I recently bought a F250 crew cab, long bed, lifted 4x4 on fox suspension and 37s, intake, cooler pipe, ect. Deleated straight pipe and unknown tune. 48k miles and paid $35k. Service record is awesome, fuel filters done at 31k miles, fuel out of separator was clean, changing them again when they come in. Use Top shot on every fill up, added friction reducer to oil that was just changed, and the other stuff for the trans.
There's no record of trans/diff fluids changed, not sure what towing was done previously. I tow quads or AC equipment a few times a week. Shoud I do those fluids yet or wait?
Also, I'd like to get tuner, can I flash over if I don't know the previous tune? I keep reading different stuff on google and not sure what to do. Looking at EzLynks or SCT. Check out that brand new 14.4v 1/4” cordless long boy…that’s probably my favorite ratchet I own. I usually grab 18-20 qts of LV, disconnect the trans cooler return line, and shove a piece of clear 1/2” tubing into the trans cooler return fitting. Starting off with 9 qts, use an empty oil jug and place the other end of the 1/2” tubing inside. Fire the truck up and then shut it off after 2 qts has been collected, add 2 qts and repeat process until you get a noticeable fluid color change. Those torque converters hold about half of the system’s capacity. This method insures that you replenish all of the old fluid in the T/C with the new fluid from the pan. Only downside is you spend twice as much on fluid🤌🏻💸 Thanks for posting pimpin, always a pleasure to watch a master at his craft👌🏼

Hi Arod. Another great vid. So, do you recommend every 30k for trans and front diff of ULV for our 10R140 AlumDuty also? BTW you r&r’ed my trans under “low time in service”at 35k. Truck now at 59k. ❤

I need to do this with mine. I have a 2016 with 130K any risk of "ruining" it with a fluid change ? I have heard some say to never change it or you'll be asking for trouble.

I wish my Honda was like that but my transmission dipstick is down deep in the engine. 🙂

The way they made the transmission dipstick on the Ford Super Duty F-450 is so much better than my 09 Honda Pilot there is nothing easy to work on, on my 09 Honda Pilot except changing oil. 🙂

The manual for my 2019 diesel says to change trans fluid and filter every 150K miles. Are you saying to do it every 25K?

The book is to NOT be followed. Yes every 30k is my recommendation

2016 F350 book says the the same thing. At 89k the fluid is a dark red. It has been pulling most of it's life but is no longer pulling. I will do a full fluid change using Amsoil at 100k. The only issue is the windshield wiper will turn itself on slow intermittent after the clockspring recall update and it is intermittent. The dealer wants $120 an hour to troubleshoot this. The blinker assembly plugs into the clockspring. F the dealership, I am paying an aftermarket shop to fix this.

@tonytsquared5576 I'd prolly throw a multi function switch at it. Had done a few for that.

California…..Let the fluid container drip “dry” 24hrs roughly. Then you can dispose in recycle bin.

Why is my new 2024 f250 6.7 powerstroke having a delayed take-off when loaded. It's almost like driveshaft has play in it? This happened on my 2022 as well. Please, anyone, point me in the correct direction to get this resolved.

@JordanByrne-xj5op If I'm thinking correctly. I believe they have a feature that holds the truck like using the break. Or internal transmission stuff. I can't remember what they call it

So, how often SHOULD we be draining and filling? 2019 F250, sometimes daily driver, sometimes towing 9k lb usually through mountains, sometimes hauling 1200lb.

Ditch the low viscosity LV fluid and you'll be able to do 75-100k intervals with 10w Synthetic fluid. Mercon V or Amsoil Signature FE ATF
