For anyone wondering the valve body bolts torque to 97 inch pounds Just watched this video for the second time and installed my new valve body today. Thanks for the great video, it made the job a breeze. Now to do the programming and make sure she' topped off. The O rings i got from ford were the same part number but only 3 in a package now.
I can feel it through the camera 😉 Crazy, I loosened the back side of my pan only and it started to drip. Once I started going around, it was pouring out. Must be the SoCal weather. No corrosion.
ARod is a mechanic for people like me that are CDO (OCD The correct way) and wants everything done correctly and torqued and cleaned. If he was closer to me I would be a regular customer of his, great guy and very professional.
Another great video! Have you ever done a video where you lay out all of your tools and give us a nice overview of the tools you use on a regular basis? Or some of those one-offs that come in clutch? It'd be great for folks that are building out their garage just in time for Christmas too.
I wish we were grown up in the same bay area, you got me working(watching) on my day off. My hood rusts the s$it out of everything- look at shiny new pan-love you bro.
Thats not an oil leak, thats one of those chasy self lubrication modifications. 😂 Another awesome video ARod! Always enjoy your videos and when you are in Florida working with Ray! Have a great day!
I always enjoy watching your videos, and I learn many tips from them. I replaced the valve body on my 11' 6.7 at 160K. It's the same problem: hard 1 to 2 and back down. No problems after the replacement.
The clear flexible spout off of a jug of DEF will screw right onto a quart bottle of Mercon (and other quart bottles), they make for a good see through funnel to add trans fluid to the trans fluid dipstick tube.
Looked like to me you forgot to connect the white wire loom holder up into the transmission thats holds the shift solenoid wires in place visible at 34:22. Can't believe you missed that! You do such detailed work and attention to detail otherwise.
You should have rewound and saw that it wasn't fastened in the 1st place. Tethering it now after the loom already had memory wasn't somethin I wanted to try. Someone already called me out weeks ago here in the comments....😎
I keep a package of disposable bed underpads (Attends Premier) in the shop to drape over things when I know I will get spillage. Great for soaking up fluids. On all of my old 80's Cadillac's when I dropped the pans I had a drain plug added. I hate messes.
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod I have replaced this already since it was cheap and easy, but I appreciate you reaching out to try to help. It didn't change anything.
I use black Gorilla tape and use a black marker on the edges of the tape so it blends well. The F250 I bought the previous owner broke a corner off on the passenger side. If I had known the price of a new one I would have negotiated a price reduction. Geez that much for a power mirror with memory.....
@@Jewalston That's insane. My 2015 was around $1200. Ford parts direct wasn't much cheaper. One online source I saw they dropped it to around $850 about a month ago. Must be trying to move their old stock. I kept looking on eBay but the problem is many sellers don't include a photo of the part number.
I've been wanting for years to pull the POS 4R100 out of my 2001 F350 with the old 7.3 and replace it with an Allison 1000 6-speed transmission. Just waiting on the time, money and the ability (i.e. - need a lift which I don't have) to do the swap.
Never torn apart a transmission valve body. Amazing stuff. As a computer and electronic technician guy I am shocked that there are electrical wires and a molex style connector in the transmission fluid. Just a thought ,, but should that be done better?
I just had my 97 super duty diesel Zf5 tranny rebuilt this year. Filled it with redline d4. No filters or coolers involved, just a gear box. I tow nothing, it's just a cruiser around truck. How often should I change that fluid?
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod I’ve never had issues with Titan Tanks but have heard and seen more issues with S&B. I travel remote on occasion and plan to do it more soon. The Titan tank in my 2017 did the job perfectly.
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod seam splits, tanks not venting or leaks out of the vents, failure of the forward strap hardware (personally seen this one) and causing issues with the float. They have issued instructions to pressure test via air last I’ve seen. That is nice but makes me weary.
@vais3 i was the one that let him know about the hardware. I've had not one issue with these tanks. I don't like the Titan because they don't allow you to use your factory skidshield. That was a deal breaker for me. Not that I like the skitheal but I don't want to remove something that the truck came with just to put the fuel tank on
Pickup SAME repair!

Just a thought, suck out most of the fluid through the dipstick tube. Really helps if you don’t have a large drain pan.

I'm fixing so much on my truck because of your videos. Now all I have left is why my wipers only work on high and the washer doesn't work.

There was a white nylon push pin that seemed to hold the wiring for the solenoids in place. I never saw it pushed into it's hole.
Yea that's why I left it. The wiring had memory of where it was, I didn't want to tether and cause and issue

Cld be!
Fuel tank, yes

I am using Amsoil

Why can you not reuse the stock bolts on the pan
someone replaced the bolts with the wrong ones they should be 8mm bolt heads not 10mm and 13mm ones
Why are they so tight I don’t remember what spec is but that seems too tight and they should be 8mm if I recall correctly
Yepppp
