  • The Lehigh Greenway Rail Trail in Palm Coast/Bunnell, Florida is a Florida biking trail that has been converted from an old railroad line by the national Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. This is an easy, paved 14-mile (round-trip) Central Florida trail that you can bike, hike, and even rollerblade! There's even wild blackberries in June and July.

      Of course Bruce! You live next to a nice biking trail. Do you see blackberries there often or any other berries?

    One thing about Florida, it all pretty much looks the same everywhere!

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right? After traveling to other parts of the county we can always tell when we're back in Florida with the palm trees, the long straight flat roads, and the general feel of the architecture. 🌴

    There's bears in Florida? Who knew.

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's actually quite a few bears in Florida! Usually just smaller black bears, but we never actually see them. When we're checking into a state park, sometimes they're a little more serious about the warnings when there's a lot more bear activity. We actually get bulled by the raccoons more often though! 😂

    This looks like a beautiful trail - very calm and relaxing! (even if it was a super hot day for cycling!). A lot of wild blackberries grow near our house. Blackberry picking is such a great summer activity! That tortoise was so cute! I'm always surprised by how fast they can actually move.

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, it would be amazing to have lots of wild blackberries nearby! And yes the tortoise was very curious and chasing Paul rather quickly! We've actually been thinking about you guys during this pandemic and hope you are well. 😊

    Thanks for your bike trail videos & for all of the facts & other things that you talk about during your videos. We will be moving to Orlando after retiring next summer & will be looking for a place close to Disney where we would not have to cross I-4 to get there. I wish we could move to Golden Oak, but we don't have the $ for that. We are thinking about Celebration, Dr. Phillips, Winter Park, Clermont or Kissimmee. I look forward after moving there to riding on all of the awesome bike trails like the West Orange & the Courtney Campbell Causeway. If you have any ideas on where I should look for a place or people I should contact then please don't hesitate to let me know. I can't wait to get out of the hell of IL. because the government sucks, the taxes are too high, the weather is not good & it is very boring. Florida is the opposite of all of those things.

    Looks like a mulberry brush, at least that's what my mom calls them. They are very good, they grow everywhere as long as you don't cut them down. People think they are a weed and cut them.

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oooo. Mullberries are so good! We had a neighbor a long time ago who had a massive mullberry tree (since the bush got so large) and they'd let us gather a bucket of them. The ones we found on this trail were definitely blackberries but they do look pretty similar. They had seeds more like blackberries though. Good observation! Thanks for the comment!

    They're wild blackberries. Found all throughout Florida. You'll also see blueberries, huckleberries, etc... lot's to eat out in the woods. Vanfleet Trail has lots of all 3 if you know where to look.

    Did you guys notice any dandelions growing anywhere along the trail?

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure there must have been some dandelions along the trail since they tend to grow right around the edges like blackberries do. Dandelions are great! 🌻

    Blackberries commonly grow wild in Florida.

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They definitely do. We've seen blackberries on other trails that we've hiked in the past. They grow amazingly well! You just reminded us we might need to go back to this trail to see how they're doing. Thanks for watching!
