    Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles. Safe protected bike lanes and trails are needed so adults and children can ride safely. Speak up for bicycles in your community. Bicycles make life and cities better. Ask your local transportation planner and elected officials to support more protected bike lanes and trails. Children should be riding a bicycle to school and not be driven in a minivan.

      If anyone is interested in supporting a national organization that advocates for safe biking, hiking and just walking you should join “ The League of American Bicyclists “. They lobby in Washington D.C. for safe infrastructure. I have been a life member since 1979.

    My favorite trails are here in Wisconsin. The Heart of Vilas County Bike Trails are in Northern Wisconsin, and they are awesome. It is a biking paradise up there. The trails go through Mercer, Manitowish Waters, Boulder Junction, Sayner, and St. Germaine. My favorite trails are the Manitowish Waters trail and the Crystal Lake trail. Absolutely beautiful.

    Electric bicycles are bringing many older adults back to cycling.
    Ebikes makes those hills much less of an issue.. Every city needs to beaa bicycle city.
    We all need to support healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation options.
    Add a little more green space, bike lanes and outdoor dining to the city and it is a winner.

    • @everythingebike
      @everythingebike  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Absolutely! Electric bicycles are indeed revolutionizing the way we think about cycling, especially for older adults. 🚴‍♂️⚡ The ease of tackling hills with an e-bike opens up so many possibilities for enjoying the outdoors and staying active. I couldn't agree more about the need for cities to embrace bicycle-friendly infrastructure. 🌳🚲 More green spaces, dedicated bike lanes, and outdoor dining areas not only enhance the urban landscape but also promote a healthier, more eco-friendly lifestyle. It's all about creating inclusive and sustainable environments that support exercise and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Thanks for highlighting this important perspective and for supporting sustainable transportation options! 🌍💚

    In Sacramento we have the Jedediah Smith Memorial (multi-use) Trail. Class 3 full electrics are not allowed but pedal assist e-bikes are OK. Pedestrians use the trail so care is needed. Equestrians do as well. It follows the American River from Old Sacramento to Folsom lake for roughly 32 miles. Currently the banks of the river are undergoing erosion control which has created some detours down stream from Sacramento State University, but upstream only habitat replanting is seen off to the side. Deer, beaver, otters, bald eagles, quail, coyotes, and even rare turtles are just some of the creatures you will see. Use Sac Int'l Airport (SMF) to get here.

    I recently did most all of the paved bike paths in Summit County, Colorado on my e-bike. Round trip is about 75 miles total of gorgeous paved bike paths. All these trails are interconnected with many different stop and start options as well. There is a beautiful loop bike trail that circles Lake Dillon with optional stops in Dillon and Frisco that is 18.7 miles long, with about a 1-2 mile stretch of paved road on Swan Mountain that you will share with autos. Spur bike paths lead to Keystone and Breckinridge. Frisco to Copper Mountain is about 12 miles via the Ten Mile Canyon bike path with another paved spur heading several miles to the base of Fremont Pass that takes you to Leadville. Copper Mountain to Vail one-way is 15 miles with an average grade of 3.5%(15% max). Although you are riding between 9,000 to 12,000 feet in elevation, e bikes make all this easily achievable for most people in average shape!

    Mostly gentle rolling hills of agricultural Iowa, small towns, well paved, 89 miles connecting to other trails, more connections under construction, a 72 mile loop. Park benches on the trail. Sound interesting? Nearby hotels, bed and breakfasts, small town restaurants. Part of the American Discovery Trail, in the Rail-Trail Hall of Fame. I'd bet I have your attention. Well marked, good parking. Suitable for road bikes. Some longer hills, no mountains. Safe Road Crossings. Miles with trees overhead. Routinely cared for by county trucks with leaf blowers, chain saws. Access to nearby town, county and state parks and camping. Access to trails leading into Des Moines. Nearby small river fishing. I think you want to know about this.

    Having ridden (the pedal bike) the entire length of the Silver Comet/Chief Ladiga Trail, I can verify: it's pretty awesome. Do note: it's NOT flat. Especially the portion in Georgia. The grade out of Rockmart toward Braswell and the Brushy Mountain Tunnel is one of my favorite portions of trail in the US. It's 7 miles of constant uphill, gaining about 500 feet in elevation. Of course I was usually riding out of Smyrna/Atlanta, so I got the fun of the downhill on the way out, and the pain of the uphill on the way back. Good times.

(a useless mapping tool) as it didn't mention that 30 miles into my route i would be met with 2 flights of stairs.. Not possible for a disabled rider.. I have not been able to find a "route planner" Or cycling map that can identify stairs... Disabled riders need to know if there are stairs on the route.. That is called a dead end... and it discriminates against disabled riders..

      Thank you for watching! I appreciate the correction. It was for the scene describing the rail system. Searching for footage is hard, and I missed that. Thank you again! 👍👍👍

    Bicycling , yes.. (** please not MOTORIZED*), Interestingly, MONTANA STATE PARKS , at least starting reminders “” motors (( incl. ELECTRIC **! ) PROHIBITED ON Walking/ Hike Trails: Upper Missouri, etc.. Admittedly, not as stinky, noisy as internal Combustion motors in OFF Road Cycles, etc.

    I was hoping to watch some videos showing people riding on PAVED trails. Why there are ANY photos or videos of UNPAVED trails on this post is beyond me. Very disappointing.
